"Simply put, it could not have gone better. From start to finish Pete Fortune was the model of professionalism. Communication was outstanding, pricing was a bit high, but fair. And well within the scope of the other prices we got. The crew was completely professional, efficient, hard working and thorough. They arrived early, left late and worked the entire time they were on site. Each night they cleaned up, leaving no debris or garbage. They checked with us before they left equipment for the week while they were working. They wore haz-mat suits and all the appropriate safety gear all the time, and this was during one of Chicago's 90+ heat waves. They did accidentally knock out a pane of glass in a window, and when we asked about it the next day, the crew chief said that he had picked up a piece of replacement glass the night before after he left our house and would replace it that day. Which he did. The work they did matches the original stucco so well that you can't tell where it is. The job was extensive but they finished it right on time. We even added a little more to the project mid week and still they finished on time. Pete stopped by almost every day to check on the work and to make sure that we were satisfied with how everything was going. We would hire this company again in a minute and we cannot say enough good things about them. They clearly understand customer service as well as quality work. It was a pleasure to work with them. "Olsen Tuckpointing Company did a brilliant job of cleaning & tuckpointing our 91-year-old brick bungalow. We are delighted with the results and highly recommend Olsen if you need any kind of brickwork done. It wasn't a huge job, but with the home being as old as it is, we were concerned about getting it done right. The brick exterior had quite a few old mortar patches and some washed-out sections, and over the years the walls had collected a wide assortment of paint stains, hardware hangers and old screw holes. The textured, tan brick also looked pretty dingy, although we weren't sure how much was the original color and how much might be accumulated dirt. The attached pictures show the after & before of dull brown bricks cleaned to a warm, clean gold. I didn't take closeups of the repairs, but I am impressed by how seamlessly the new work blends in with the older mortar. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable, prompt, and professional, and I have only good things to say about them all. The estimator was able to come out quickly after the initial contact, he did a comprehensive walk-though, and he provided a clear, reasonable, and detailed estimate in a timely fashion--along with an explanation of the whole process from start to finish, so we would know what to expect. The office staff was great about getting things scheduled and making sure we knew when the crews would be showing up, the crews introduced themselves on arrival, and they were all friendly, careful, and incredibly skilled. We are 100% pleased as can be & will certainly be calling Olsen Tuckpointing when next we need any masonry work performed.show more

"I called quite a few masons for this work and estimates were all across the board. Found that most do not offer warranties or work with the sealant manufacturer to do preliminary tests to ensure their product will work. JC was one that did both. Their price was one of the higher ones that we received but we decided it was worth it due to the warranty they would issue. Both Greg and Jake are great, very responsive and accountable for their work. I can’t say that everything went great. There were some issues, delays, and rework but that was primarily attributed to poor workmanship of one of their employees. Once I brought that to their attention, they worked to correct it. They could have as easily made it really difficult for us to finish the job properly and not taken responsibility. The project could have gone more smoothly if that employee was not assigned but in reality no home project is perfect and a contractor that works to correct issues and make it right is hard to find.show more
