  • WordPress maintained strong growth during the week in net-new followers with a 984 jump. This is down slightly as we had a larger group of Twitter followers again deactivate accounts following some news in the media regarding Twitter. Despite not having the Twitter numbers, we excelled in performance with LinkedIn, which grew by 622, or two-thirds of the total growth.
  • Part of the overall performance came from the WP 20th Anniversary campaign along with the Photo Directory campaign around the World Wildlife Day celebrations. This top 3 also included a separate campaign focused on a WP 6.2 BetaBeta A pre-release of software that is given out to a large group of users to trial under real conditions. Beta versions have gone through alpha testing in-house and are generally fairly close in look, feel and function to the final product; however, design changes often occur as part of the process. 4 campaign.

  • WordPress maintained strong growth this week with net new followers with a 1,291 jump through the week. This is larger than the 1,237 growth (7.6% increase) that we had last week. While we ran fewer campaigns and saw some impression/engagement drops as a result  (this was to be expected), we still managed to hold onto a 2% engagement rate which is a target for us and have managed to maintain this.
  • Part of the overall performance came from the WP 6.2 BetaBeta A pre-release of software that is given out to a large group of users to trial under real conditions. Beta versions have gone through alpha testing in-house and are generally fairly close in look, feel and function to the final product; however, design changes often occur as part of the process. 3 campaign. This campaign ended up with 2 of the top 3 posts for the week, including the top performance. This top 3 also included a separate campaign focused on a WP 6.1 features campaign. You can see this broken down more in the upcoming section Top Performers by Engagement section.
  • Here is a look at some of the performance numbers for the last week:
    • Impressions: 234,627

For us, this is the team that works on internal WordPress sites like WordCamp Central and Make WordPress. comments about this note-taking process: Per our marketing team process goals for developing a notes system that is manageable and useful for the team and the overall project on a long-term basis, I developed a step-by-step process for note-taking in the above format. Today I was able to time the process, and it clocked in at 28 minutes (not including posting), which beats our team-rep goal of a notes-taking process that averages 30 minutes. Woot! I’ll be preparing the notes from March 1 shortly, and will time it again. As we are still in our notes-development process, please be sure to leave comments on these notes, both what works for you, and what’s missing, so we can incorporate your experience. Thanks!

Our WordPress Social Media Amplification GitHub card #7 details how you can help share and amplify WordPress news on social media. You will also find a list of the primary WordPress.org social accounts and campaign contacts if you would like to help craft content.

WordPress continued some strong individual performances this week but this was seen most in the number of new followers again earned this week with a total of 1,869 net-new followers. Impressions and engagements were lower this week but based on the fact we had fewer campaigns. Instagram was again our leading channel in terms of growth with another 646 new followers which is a 55.7% jump over the previous week.

Part of the overall performance came from the WP Learn campaign and WP 6.1 features campaigns. These 2 campaigns ended up in the top 3 for the week respectively. The WP 6.1 posts actually ended up with 2 posts in the top 3.

Here is a look at some of the performance numbers for the last week:

  • Impressions: 145,466
  • Engagements: 2,438
  • Link clicks: 513
  • Engagement Rate: 1.4%
