On March 25, 1911, a fire at the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory in NYC killed 146 workers. Many were trapped by blocked exits and jumped to their deaths. The tragedy spurred stronger workplace protections – but if you think blocked exits are history, you’d be wrong.
