The third film in Peter Jackson’s “Lord of the Rings” trilogy was released in 2003, and to commemorate the film’s 20th anniversary a new extended cut will be debuting in theatres.

Deadline reports that the extended “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King” will experience a theatrical run later next month.

In the U.S., the film will screen in participating theatres on Thursday, April 13 and Wednesday, April 19, and in Canadian theatres at 7 p.m. local time on Thursday, April 20.

The screenings will be preceded by a special introduction from star Elijah Wood, who played Frodo Baggins in all three films.

Lizzo may be one of the world’s biggest music stars, but that doesn’t prevent her from being called to jury duty.

On Tuesday, March 21, the “Good as Hell” singer took to TikTok to share a video in which she prepares to serve on a jury.

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are getting candid. In an exclusive clip from Wednesday’s premiere episode of her new SiriusXM podcast “Let’s Talk Off Camera”, the couple recalls the start of their relationship when Consuelos was “insanely jealous.”

Country music stars Orville Peck, Mickey Guyton and Jimmie Allen are the judges for “My Kind of Country”, a new Nashville-themed music competition series streaming on Apple TV+, executive produced by Reese Witherspoon and Kacey Mulgraves.

Peck, Guyton and Allen spoke with Et Canada’s Morgan Hoffman about the series, with all three admitting the most difficult part of the process is telling an aspiring singer they don’t have what it takes to proceed further in the competition.

You get so invested in them, you know, you want them all to do so well…” said Guyton. “And so, it’s like when you have to tell them no. Like, we’ve all been on that end before. We’ve all been told no at some point and it never feels good. And then to have to be the person to tell them… it was heartbreaking.”

Rory Culkin leaves nothing to the imagination during a scene in “Swarm”, the new Prime Video series co-created by Janine Nabers and Donald Glover (“Atlanta”).

In the scene, the series’ protagonist, Dre (Dominique Fishback), is seen registering surprise when the guy she hooked up with the night before offers a bowl of strawberries — which happen to be positioned right next to his exposed genitals.

According to Nabers, the scene is only partly fictional, and was originally inspired by something that once happened to Glover after a similar hookup.

“Shazam! Fury of the Gods” hit theatres on March 17, resulting in a disappointing opening weekend with just $65 million at the worldwide box office — a 43 per cent drop from the first “Shazam” movie.

While there are certainly many reasons behind why the film flopped, a report from TheWrap offers another factor: Dwayne Johnson and his attempt to place his Black Adam and Henry Cavill’s Superman at the centre of the DC Extended Universe.

According to TheWrap, “Black Adam” was intended to feature a post-credits sequence featuring Zachary Levi’s “Shazam” character, which would have linked the two movies and, in theory, bolstered the success of “Fury of the Gods”. That sequence, the outlet reports, would have seen Levi’s character recruited for the Justice Society — until Johnson personally “vetoed” the plan.

As Kelsea Ballerini continues to discuss her bitter divorce from fellow country music star Morgan Evans, she’s now opening up about the physical toll of the split.

In a new interview with the New York Times, Ballerini reveals that stress from the situation led her hair to fall out.

“I lost so much hair last year… just stress,” she explained, responding to the interviewer’s comment about her lengthy locks.

Diplo is taking a quick smoke break after running 26.2 miles.

The world-famous DJ finally made good on his promise to complete a marathon on Sunday, finishing the L.A. Marathon in three hours and 55 minutes. He placed 2,009th out of more than 15,000 runners.

Gwyneth Paltrow’s attorney is coming out swinging in defending the actress against a $300,000 lawsuit filed by a retired optometrist who alleges she was negligent in a 2016 accident at a Utah ski resort.

Sources told the New York Post that Paltrow is planning to take the stand in her own defense, after retired optometrist Terry Sanderson, 76, alleged she collided with him while skiing at Deer Valley Resort in Park City, Utah, “knocking him down hard, knocking him out.”

On Tuesday, The Associated Press reported, lawyers for both parties gave their opening statements. Lawrence Buhler, attorney for Sanderson, claimed that Paltrow took a “so what?” attitude after the collision while skiing, alleging the plaintiff experienced a “full body blow;” in Sanderson’s complaint filed in 2019, Sanderson alleged the accident left him with “permanent traumatic brain injury, 4 broken ribs, pain, suffering, loss of enjoyment of life.”

Film studio A24 has unveiled a new trailer for “You Hurt My Feelings”, an intimate relationship comedy starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

The film, from acclaimed filmmaker Nicole Holofcener, stars the “Seinfeld” alum as Beth Mitchell, a writer whose latest book isn’t exactly burning up the bestseller lists.

It’s official: American rapper Pitbull will be headlining the first day of the Calgary Stampede.

Armando Christian Pérez, known by his stage name Pitbull or as Mr. Worldwide, will be playing in the Saddledome on July 7. He grew in popularity in the 2010s with hits such as Give Me Everything and Timber, and performed alongside stars such as Kesha and Ne-Yo.

Pitbull’s songs have also been featured on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and his music videos have accumulated more than 15 billion views collectively.

An online petition is hoping to see one of the stars of The Last of Us named the 2023 Calgary Stampede parade marshal.

A Change.org petition wants Pedro Pascal, who plays Joel in the TV show, to lead the charge.

The parade marshal is usually announced at the end of May or early June.

The director of the latest superhero flop is getting candid.

This past weekend, the movie opened to just $30.1 million domestically, lower that initial estimates, and a far cry from the $53 million the first film earned in its opening.
