"This past year, we saw a number of homes in our neighborhood getting new roofs and figured we probably needed one also. Our neighbor decided to go with Left Coast Remodelers, and it seemed like they did a great job. We requested quotes from them and several other companies and we decided to go LCR after hearing the feedback from our neighbor. They offered very competitive rates and communication was easy and effective. As we expected, they finished our project quickly and professionally and when they were done, they left our place spotlessly clean. The only evidence they had been there was our awesome new roof. They were very friendly and professional to work with. We would absolutely hire them again and will suggest them to friends and family!"

"Phoenix Roofing replaced our roof this summer (2022) and did a terrific job. Their bid was lower than some others I received, but after some back and forth with a few questions I had it was clear they knew what they were doing and would deliver a high quality result. We were not disappointed! The new roof looks great, they repaired some minor sagging sections and rotting decking, and I can feel confident knowing our roof is now in great shape. They are ethical and stand by their quality work. We noted noise is loader inside the bathroom after installation of the skylight, and they quickly arranged fixing it for us. I recommend them to anyone in need of roof work and would call them again when I'm in need of any roof-related jobs."

Great work..we would hire Ulises again for any type of insulation project or other jobs he did..he was easy to work with, came and bid the project fairly and got it done in a professional and timely manner..plus he is just a very nice person so that makes hiring him that much better! thank you for your expertise Ulises! so happy with the result!"

"I desperately needed to convert my tub/shower to a walkin shower because of mobility limitations. Ybarra quickly sent Ryan who started working out a construction plan .Levi than became my project manager and fined tuned the plan to meet my needs and budget. Questions or concerns were quickly addressed by Levi with a call back or text. Once all needed materials were acquired Todd and Julio finished the new beautifully tiled shower, flooring and other upgrades in three days. Levi or Robert came each day to check the progress. Today I signed off on my very safe attractive bathroom. Working with Levi and other crew members was always very positive and respectful. Hope to use Ybarra again and will recommend them to friends and family."

"I'm not sure what I liked best about CS1, but I think it was their cheerful, happy, talented craftsmen. You know the company is doing something right when the people who work for them are cheerful, respectful, and kind. Their work on my (hideous) popcorn ceilings and walls transformed my home. Expert. Outstanding work. I will say that if your estimate is X number of days, those days may not be contiguous - make sure you check with them to make sure you are aligned on the schedule. Everyone you talk to at CS1 is going to be helpful and just generally enjoyable to work with. But if you want to know what prompted my 5 star review, it's the craftsmanship...."

"Juan and his crew installed drywall in my entire 3600 square foot ranch house. It was a pretty extensive remodel with really challenging areas on the ceilings and around the existing stairs. I was going for a light orange peel finish but the dry wall Instalation was so good that we changed to a smooth finish. It looks great with the old formal modern and contemporary style of my home."

"My new-to-me home built in 1947 was 95 degrees in the walk-up attic in the summer! It made downstairs hot, too. I just couldn't stand it any more. If you put your hand on the ceiling, it was amazingly hot. A friend suggested just nailing some foam boards onto the underside of the roof, but I thought there has to be a better solution. I did research, saw the blown-in insulation, and had Josh Lowe out to give me a proposal. It ended up spray foam was the better solution. Since his company installs spray foam AND blown-in cellulose, I thought he was truly telling me the better solution, rather than just selling me on one thing. Glad I chose them for spray foam, and my home is easier to live in now!"

"Samuel is a total professional. He had a trainee along with him when he came to provide a quote and it was seamless. Very professional, informative, communicative, respectful. Excellent service from start to finish! They arrived on time, wore masks, bootie covers, (observing covid guidelines) and explained exactly what they saw, what was needed, and available options. He was also highly knowledgeable in available rebates and financing options. Definitely, sets him and this company apart from the other contractors I encountered. I appreciate how when there was a hiccup, Samuel called, presented the complication, provided solutions, and even gave a gesture to smooth it over. This is exactly how I conduct business, and it was so refreshing to experience this as a customer. Especially, for such a large home improvement project (Insulation install attic/crawlspace, gas line install to range, gas fireplace removal, ductless system install) Highly recommend!"

Frequently Asked Questions
What is insulation?
+
What is insulation?
Insulation is material that provides a barrier within a home’s walls, ceilings, and floors to regulate temperature and noise. If your home gets overly hot in the summer and cold in the winter, it’s likely not insulated properly.
Insulation efficiency is measured by R-value, which determines how resistant different types of insulation are to heat flow (or energy loss). R-values are measured by inch of thickness. The higher the R-value, the better the performance and the higher the price.
How much does insulation cost?
+
How much does insulation cost?
Our project data lists insulation costs between $1,400 and $6,300, but your final price will depend on the type of insulation you choose, its R-value, and how much you need.
- Fiberglass insulation: $0.30 – $1.50
- Blown-in insulation: $1 – $2
- Spray foam insulation: $0.50 – $2
- Radiant insulation: $0.20 – $1
- Rigid board insulation: $0.25 – $1
Luckily, insulation is one of the best investments you can make in your home—it has an ROI of at least 100%, meaning you’ll likely make back what you spend in a few years or so.
What is insulation made of?
+
What is insulation made of?
Insulation is made of many different materials, which can also impact the R-value needed for energy efficiency.
- Fiberglass: The most common insulation material made from glass. Fiberglass is a skin and lung irritant, so you’ll need to wear gloves and clothing when working with fiberglass insulation.
- Cellulose: Made from recycled paper products, plus borate for fire and insect resistance.
- Foam: Made from polystyrene, polyisocyanurate, or polyurethane plastic. You can also install cement-based foam insulation using rigid foam boards.
- Mineral wool: Made of fire-resistant rock wool, a mix of natural materials, or slag wool, made from a molten metal product.
- Natural fibers: Made from various recycled natural materials, including cotton, sheep’s wool, and straw.
Where is insulation in a house?
+
Where is insulation in a house?
If your attic is unfinished or you’ve ever demolished an interior wall, you might notice batt or spray foam insulation between the studs. Putting insulation between your walls and floors helps keep your home comfortable and your energy costs down. In addition to walls and attics, you can install insulation in your garage, in floors above vented crawl spaces, and basements.
- Garage Insulation: $0.50 to $1.25 per square foot
- Floor and crawl space insulation: $1 to $5 per square foot
- Basement insulation: $1.50 to $2.50 per square foot
- Wall insulation: $1 to $4 per square foot
- Attic insulation: $1,500 to $6,000
- Roof insulation: $1,500 to $4,500 or more
What are the different types of insulation?
+
What are the different types of insulation?
There are a few types of home insulation, and they all are made of different materials— most commonly, fiberglass, cellulose, and foam. Insulation includes these materials in the following forms:
- Loose-fill: Also called “blown-in,” loose-fill is sprayed into wall cavities, attics, and other oddly-shaped areas using special equipment. This insulation is usually made of fiberglass, cellulose, or mineral wool.
- Batts: An affordable insulation blanket best for unfinished spaces, such as between framing, studs, or joists. They come in pre-cut sections suitable for DIY installation and are mostly made from fiberglass, though other versions are also available.
- Rolls: Similar to batt insulation, but comes in rolls. Its make-up leaves less chance for gaps between sections and is more efficient than other types.
- Foam board: One of the most popular insulation types that can be used almost anywhere in your home. Foam boards also have a high R-value.
- Spray foam: Expands and hardens to fill gaps, small and large. Can be closed-cell or open-cell, but closed-cell has a higher R-value, making it more expensive per square foot.
- Radiant barriers: Does not reduce heat flow but directs heat away from the home instead. Radiant barriers are DIY-friendly and affordable, but they won’t be as effective in the winter months.
