While another company had investigated for multiple visits and finally recommended replacing the entire furnace unit, Punbar spent one visit (about three hours) diagnosing and arrived at the same conclusion as to the underlying issue; however, they recommended replacing only one part, not the entire unit. We followed their recommendation and it has fixed the problem (it's been a week now and the problem of no heat has not recurred). Punbar's repair took less time and cost 25% as much as the other recommendation. In addition, when the manufacturer did not have the part available in stock (after saying that they did have it), Punbar on their own initiative gave us a portable electric heater to use while we waited for the part to arrive. This helped out tremendously during that arctic cold snap, which is of course when our furnace stopped heating. How many A/C companies have gone above and beyond like that for you?
