Wrought Iron Fence Repair in San Francisco

I was pleased with the quality of the finished product, the responsivness when we had a change request regarding the window balcony, and the friendly and earnest demeanor of the project lead (Charlie). Things that could be improved on included getting around to scheduling the project once the contract was signed, which took a bit longer than I had hoped, and responsiveness to email/call inquiries during this initial period, which were a bit slow. Ron was amazing. Professional, knowledgeable, and honest. I contacted Ron to fashion a decorative wrought iron fence that would also serve as a safety fence between my house and my pool yard. In the end, I did not have the fence built because of city permitting restraints (they required the fence be built higher than would work in the given space). However, the reason for writing this review is to share that Ron was the consummate professional throughout the entire process. In the planning process, he was creative and intelligent . . .bringing up tissues that I never thought about. His proposal was professional, detailed, and the pricing was fair. He went above and beyond in researching details with the city. And throughout the process, he was straightforward and easy to work with. Despite the fact that I wasn't able to retain Ron for this project, my experience was that he is the kind of professional that all contractors should aspire to beshow more

I have used Cuevas Lumber & Fence at our old house, and they did an amazing job, so I knew they were the perfect people to do the fence job at our new house. We just moved into a hillside property up in the los gatos foothills, and we needed some fencing to protect our young children. We needed fencing and a gate around the side yards; we needed new wrought iron fencing along the hillside (there was only a hokey chicken-wire fence that wouldn't hold in a flea), and we needed a new wrought iron pool fence/gate as there wasn't a pool fence there at all. Kevin's team came out on Wednesday, and they had all the fencing up by noon on Saturday. They did a GORGEOUS job! The redwood fence along the back of the pool has beautiful piano lattice work that is really stunning. The wrought iron was installed beautifully, and I especially love the lockable, self-closing gate on the pool. Many layers of security for my young kids. Kevin and team have the BEST prices of any fencing contractor I've ever used. I had backed my car into the gate and the welds holding the opener were broken. They came out the same day we called for an estimate and fixed the gate the following day. They reinforced the gate and added a "stop" so the gate wouldn't open toward the front. I pointed out that the wrought iron fence they had installed two years ago had a few places where the paint was beginning to flake and they re-painted the fence while they were there. They gave me a bid and I called them after that. I was not there when they did the job, and it was completed in a few hours and before I came home. I had also requested them to do a quick repair on the entry gate. It is a wooden gate with a latch on it, and the latch was somewhat askew. They fixed it promptly and did not bill me anything for that repair. I am satisfied with the quality of service and give them high ratings on all counts. I ran into the gate with my car and bent it. It also needed to be repainted. I called several places, and these folks were very prompt with an estimate (others were not). They picked up the gates and returned them more quickly than they had estimated. The gates were straighted out and powder coat painted. The latch (which had never worked since I owned the house) was also repaired. They look great and worked far better than before. I was very happyshow more

Everything was good except that someone did not follow the directions and cut the handrail too short. However, when I called Warren and told them that it did not pass the city inspection they sent someone out there that day to remeasure it, cut it and the new piece was rewelded the following day. They also paid the additional inspection cost since it was their error. I can't believe I didn't have to play tough guy or beg them-they fixed it immediately and apologized throughoutshow more

We've used All Fence in the past at one of our previous homes and they did a great job there so we were confident about using them again. However, we did call around to try to get similar quotes since the quote for this one was quite high (around $20K initially). All Fence was the only company who did the combination of wrought iron with other types of fence. With other companies, we would have had to hire two different companies. We're not sure if the price would have been different if we'd priced with two separate companies. They came out promptly to take measurements and get us a quote. When we got the quote back, they worked with us to bring the price down a bit by offering different options. Scheduling was about 2 weeks out. I guess they are in high demand. They installed it over the course of 5 days, even coming in on Saturday to make sure they got it done. We're very pleased with the work they performed. The fences looks great. We made some changes to our house that required we modify our stairway. We asked Ron for a bid on the wrought-iron rail. Ron showed up at the appointed time to take measurements and give us a bid. He asked a lot of questions to make sure that he knew exactly what we wanted. He's meticulous and detail-oriented, so it took some time, but the questions were important ones. Naturally, we changed our mind on what we wanted before it was over; he was courteous about responding quickly to let us know what our altered vision would cost. His final bid was very competitive and he met our deadline for getting the rail installed. As the process went on, he kept us involved in the decisions he was making that might affect the look of the rail and asked for our input, which was a nice change from other contractors we've worked with. This was THE BEST contractor experience we've ever had! From start to finish! Brian came over to our house to measure up, and sat at our dining table and hand sketched a beautiful design for us. A few days later, a quote arrived. He invited us to come to the foundary to take a look at everything, and after a couple of tweaks, we settled on our final design. About 10 days later, Brian invited us back to take a look at the mid-production stages, and to ok everything before welding - we were so happy - even at this point - with how everything was looking! Installation took place at the end of last week, and Brian came to check everything and make sure we were happy - which we absolutely were!!! One morning we found the wrought iron gate to our courtyard fence hanging on open with one of the hinges broken open. The gate was 25 years old and we had attempted to take good care of it, keeping it sealed and painted. But the years had taken their toll. I called around to find someone to repair the gate quickly as it blocked entrance to our front door. I was very frustrated after speaking to various Iron professionals who either charged a fortune including a large fee to just show up or who didn't want to be bothered with small repairs. Then I got a hold of R & S Erection of Concord. They were polite, eager to help, offered a free estimate. When their estimator came out he was very knowledgeable and professional. In evaluating the needed repairs he noticed without being told that the gate lock box no longer latched. He offered to include that in the estimate. His estimate was reasonable for the time and work required. The workman showed up punctually and finished the work in just two or three hours. He fixed the hinges, the lock box and in addition, repaired a small weld that had broken on a fence support. We are very happy with the work that R & S.
