"First, I appreciated the person who booked my repair appointment asking me if my fireplace had a remote to see if I might need to replace the batteries. It sounds silly but imagine paying a service fee to discover you just needed a few AAs. Second, the repairman narrowed the problem down to two possibilities. He did the cheapest, quickest fix first and said if he needed to come back again there wouldn t be another service fee. "We have a historical restoration building in downtown Washington, D.C. We had sent out nationally 75 bids for period construction and historical restoration work. This job included replication or historical tiles in all bathrooms and also replication of historical tiles in all hallways. Also the replication/repair of period wooden windows, which were rotted, also floors needed structural repairs made. There was a large amount of decorative plaster relief work, which had to be repaired, and molds made to replicate areas that were non-existent. The exterior had a great deal of masonry repair work which included repointing of all brick and stone work. Also included in the exterior of this job was stone carvings that needed repair/replacement.
