It definitely made a huge difference after replacing those old carpets which had stains all over them. "I would highly recommend this company. I like the fact that once one of their workers starts on your project that they come out until job is completed. I had another company in the past that tried to juggle multiple projects at the same time so project took twice as long. Also liked that they were very neat and clean. Workmanship is superb. My new bathroom looks amazing."

"I wholeheartedly recommend Citywide Roofing & Remodeling Co.. I found their contractors informative & reliable. They have the best support staff who answered all my questions. My old 30 year roof was leaking. I called 5 roofing companies which I interviewed. I knew Citywide won the â Best Roofers in L.A. Awardâ and I liked the Contractor who was knowledgeable about replacing a composite asphalt shingles roof. Citywide Co. finished my new roof in 2 days, installed new air vents, and property cleaned up after completion. The City of Concord approved my roof. After the terrible California rain storms in Dec. and Jan. 2023 in my area, I was so thankful for my new roof! I truly recommend Citywide Roofing who provided the best advice, quality roofing, and office services I needed. The roofers did an amazing job. Love my new Shasta White composite asphalt shingled roof! Thank you Citywide Roofing Co.!"

"they had the lowest bid. i have several rental properties and i usually do not hire the cheapest. but this time they are the cheapest and best available based on experience and references. i broke my big post holding the s second floor, so there is no room for mistakes. they finished the siding for no additional cost. They also used the best and most expensive wood, which is included in the price, which is the redwood-we did not even talked about it-- i was so impressed with their work i voluntarily added $30 to their charge. They basically do everything, so will be my permanent contractor"

Wood is a natural and typically durable siding material common particularly on cottages, bungalows, and Cape Cod homes. Often referred to as cladding, it is typically made from redwood or cedar, although other wood can be used like cypress and oak. Engineered wood siding is also a popular choice.

Wood siding comes in a variety of styles including:

  • Lap siding - a very durable style where long boards are installed in an overlapping pattern.
  • Drop Channel and Tongue-and-Groove - this siding has channels or grooves cut out to allow the boards to interlock.
  • Split logs - typically seen on log cabins, split logs are sawed and attached to the wall with a flat side while the exposed side gives the appearance of solid logs.
  • Board and Batten - wide boards with narrow strips in between all evenly spaced. Typically seen on barns.
  • Shake and Shingles - similar to those seen on roofs. Squares of wood installed horizontally for a rustic, historic, or charming look. Shakes are thicker than shingles and are less uniform.

While wood siding is fairly durable, it can scratch. When it needs to be replaced, typically an entire section needs to be redone to maintain appearances and strength. Wood siding also requires quite a bit of maintenance including resealing and treating to resist fire and insects.

Whether you need your wood siding installed, repaired, or replaced, it's best to leave the job to the pros. Enter your zip code and let HomeAdvisor connect you with wood siding contractors near you.
