Enzo and his team did a fantastic job turning our very dated "steam shower"-style bathroom into a completely new entity, and I really can't get over the transformation. His subcontractors - particularly Tony, who did the tile work - were very professional and performed very high quality work. I honestly can't say enough about the tile. Enzo himself did a good job at keeping the job moving, even in light of the usual unexpected findings once the walls were open. The team cleaned up after themselves every day, which, considering they were going back and forth through our master bedroom, we really appreciated. Extra care was taken not to let the inside-only cats outside too. Someone even took a few minutes to fix our faulty front door latch. While the job took a few extra days over the estimate, it was literally just a few days, in part because of changes we made at the last minute. Enzo did a good job of managing our change requests and the final tally was very much in line with what we had been expecting. Update: Months later, we still can't believe how amazing the bathroom looks. And we have had zero problems with anything in the bathroom. I wish we hadn't waited so long to do the remodelshow more

From the first day he set foot in our home, we have referred to Steve Schliff and the OTB team as our Contractors from Heaven! Proof positive: we have since hired them for several other projects, including extensive interior upgrades throughout our home. In the nearly 10 years we have been working with OTB, we've had nothing but excellent service, top-quality craftsmanship and respect for us and our home -- we have lived in our house during each remodeling project, and they made it as painless as possible. They did what they said, when they said the would do it, and when anything unexpected came up, as it does in remodeling, they communicated with us and worked it out to our complete satisfaction. When I called to get referrals for minor repairs several years after our bathroom remodel (e.g., cracking grout due to an earthquake) they insisted on taking care of it themselves to ensure it was done to their high standards. Because we weren't able to remodel our home fully upon move in, they have worked with us over the years to bring our vision for our home to reality. On our first job, we solicited competitive bids. On the Beam wasn't the least expensive -- though they were competitive -- but ,as a big believer in "you get what you pay for," we trusted our instincts and chose OTB. We finished our bathroom remodel a few weeks ago and couldn't be happier with the results! Oscar and the rest of the team at S&L were awesome. They communicated clearly, payed close attention to detail and exceeded all of our expectations. They were very flexible and understanding when the fixtures we ordered were delayed - the delays actually caused them to stop construction for about a week (not their fault at all). We couldn't be happier with the results and would certainly hire them again for any future projects! I am already thinking of other projects I would like to do in the home. I am a higher end general contractor in Palo Alto and have been in business for 26 years. My company has an excellent reputation for getting the job done right. I hired Daves Custom Plumbing to do a sewer line replacement. While on the job under a customers house, Daves Custom Plumbing damaged my customers phone line. I had to have a new phone line installed to fix the damage. I paid Daves Custom Plumbings invoice for the work minus the cost to repair the phone line. Daves Custom Plumbing denied they had done damage to the phone line and sued me in small claims court to get the money for the phone line replacement. When I showed up to the small claims court hearing there were two other customers of Daves Custom Plumbing there at the same time that he was suing. It turns out, after talking to my contractor friends in my area, most had used Daves Custom Plumbing at one time. Every one of these contractors ended up in court against Daves Custom Plumbing. It is worth noting that my contractor friends and myself have never had any complaints filed against our companies for any reason. Under no circumstances should you hire Daves Custom Plumbing to do any work unless you want to end up in court. The owners are unprofessional and use court to mask their poor performance. I was also alerted to the fact that Daves Custom Plumbing is way behind on their rent payments. Do not make the same mistake we have in hiring Daves Custom Plumbing. We contacted Landscape Solutions and 1 other company to get bids on our backyard renovation project. We went with Landscape Solutions because Scott had a great understanding of the project scope and was also able to refer us to a designer (Shanti). Our yard is pretty small, but Shanti definitely helped make the most use out of the space and she totally understood our aesthetic. Scott and his entire team (especially Kevin & Ignacio) were a dream to work with. They kept the jobsite clean, were friendly and even patient dealing with our curious dogs. We are extremely happy with Oren, Michelle and all of SOD crew members. So we have just purchased our new home, which needed serious updates to make it look like our home. We decided to start with the kitchen, which was outdated and closed, and the master bathroom that looked like it came out of the 70's. We called a few contractors we found and the third meeting was with SOD, well Oren & Michelle came and there ideas just blew us away. Michelle asked us our likes and dislikes in the old kitchen and while questioning us, really got what our vision was, her ability to point out some of the things that we couldn't see was just great. Oren was straight to the point, didn't promise anything he couldn't provide, I really liked the no bulshit approach he had. ( some of the others bidders made us feel like they would promise anything just to have us sign a contract ). SOD also re pipe and rewire the whole house. they also upgrade the main electrical panel to 200amp. Oren did an amazing job on our kitchen, opened up the space to the living room, and I just love that I can show off my new kitchen every time I host a party. I must say that since day one they make sure that the house is covered with plastic, paper and they make sure to keep the site clean every day, even that we are not living at the house! Their crew were professional, on time and we always knew what was expected to happen. The office always updated us on the schedule on daily basis (they are using some kind of online project management software). Now we are done with phase one which was the kitchen addition and the next step will be master bath.... I can't wait!!! WE LIKED THE DESIGN OF THE HOUSE. THE SALES TEAM WAS GREAT. THE HOUSE WAS ON TIME IN BUILDING. UP UNTIL THAT POINT EVERYTHING WAS GREAT. THEN WHEN WE MOVED IN AND HAD TO DEAL WITH THE CUSTOMER REP. PEOPLE WITH THE FOLLOW-UP AND THAT WAS DISASTROUS. WE DIDN'T CARE MUCH FOR THE CUSTOMER REPS AT ALL. AND BECAUSE OF THEM WE PROBABLY WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER HOME FROM THEMshow more

We purchased a house in the bay area so that we could can visit my sons who are at college more often. The house was in shambles, and we began our process of finding a good contractor who can turn over the place into a beautiful house while we were in the process of buying it.
