About a 6 months ago we started to remodel our kitchen with a construction company that at the end, they left the work in the middle and it was no less than a horror story! So we ended up with worthless unfinished kitchen and with defiantly zero trust in those companies that care only about the money. We didn’t have any additional choice but to look for another company that can come over and redo the entire kitchen and to make sure that we will not have the same problems as we had with the other one. We met with lots of companies and at the end, we decided and after many meetings and researching, we hired Luxcess Home by SOD Builders for our project. One of our previous neighbors told us about Luxcess Home by SOD Builders great things so we decided to give it a chance. It has been 5 weeks now after they completed our kitchen and about a week ago, they called us to ask how we are doing and to check and see if we have any problems with the final kitchen. Their follow up phone call was the main reason why we decided to write this review for them. This showed a clear picture the all they care is the satisfaction of their clients and not the money that they can make. We started communicating in January of this year with Linda Lau. We were having problems with another contractor and needed them to finish their part in the bathrooms before ML Construction could come in. Fast forward to the end of June when I finally got a commitment from the other contractor to finish their work and ML Construction came in and did a beautiful job. In between January and June, Linda kept in contact with us and helped us select materials and really made sure we got what we wanted especially since virtually everything was special ordered. Andy Hahn ,the owner of Hahn Construction, has the highest integrity and authenticity of any residential general contractor. Andy is thoughtful, fair and well organized. Andy developed the estimate, clarified what was in scope and out of scope (we bought the flooring and light fixtures). He recommended and managed the custom cabinet maker. New plumbing, electrical, new finish for kitchen cabinets, countertops, couple of walls removed, new walls constructed. New appliances installed, Sheetrock repair and paint. Worst contractor experience of my life! We entered into contract in Jan. '07 and finished Feb 2008! Original estimated time to complete was 6-8 weeks. It dragged out over one year and we were blamed for the delays! We lived in the construction dust and garbage, garage and bedroom filled with materials, and burglarized. The owner, Vernon, was abusive and cruel bullying with his knowledge as an attorney. We were mocked, yelled at, threatened with litigation & mechanics liens, he attempted to extort more payment for items included in the contract. He set arbitrary allowances on items months after contract. He constantly bemoaned the fact that he underbid the project and went as far as stating that I had tricked him because I worked for an insurance company 17 years ago and had more knowledge of construction costs. He threatened to abandon the project. Mistakes were made in construction and we were constantly in the role of general contractor problem solving errorsshow more

The guys at M&M Construction are very experienced. no doubt about that. we had more than a few quotes coming in and were looking into many other companies till we met with Eli, the owner of M&M Construction. he had so many ideas for design, was very helpful with creating exactly the kitchen we were interested with. most contractors were just too stuck up on the way they do it instead of the way we want it. Incredible! We love the results! Our house looks amazing! We couldn't be happier with our newly remodeled house. We bought the place a couple of years ago and really struggled to find a good contractor to carry out such a massive remodel. We found Evolve Construction through a good friend that also used this company and was very pleased with them. After a lot of research, we feel that we finally found the right contractor and we can't complain about the price either - it was more thn fair to our opinion. We worked alongside Dan as the interior designers for a commercial tenant improvement in Cupertino. Good contractors are very hard to come by so we were very lucky to have found Morgan Construction. Dan was extremely professional, reliable and responsive in working with us and the client throughout the project. As designers, we know that every project will have "issues". It is the way that these issues were dealt with and resolved that really impressed us. The project was completed on time and the quality of work was great. The final space looks fantastic! Morgan Construction was one of several contractors that we chose from given a list from our insurance company. We are SO GLAD that we went with Morgan. We really appreciated the types and depth of questions that were asked during the estimate, as well as the multiple options that we were given for our two-room project moving forward. There are several aspects of the project that were handled especially well: 1. Highly communicative. Emails and text messages were communicated with excellent turn around time, addressing all questions and concerns in a prompt manner. 2. The vendor list that was given to us by Morgan Construction featured high quality, well-valued options for bathroom fixtures and tiling. Other, cheaper contractors blankly told us to "go to Home Depot" which was just ridiculous given the lasting investment that we wanted to make. All vendors came through with excellent materials in a reasonable amount of time. We were very pleased with our choices and with the finished result. 3. The quality of sub-contractor work was phenomenal. The bathroom tile installation, electrical work, and plumbing were all done in a very efficient and high quality manner. All subcontractors also cleaned up after their portion of the project in a very thorough and detailed manner - much appreciated. 4. Daniel Morgan, the contractor who came out to do the initial estimate, was present on side for the majority of the project. He kept us updated on the status of repairs at each step of the project, and gave valuable advice on fixtures and installation options. The fact that he was so highly involved in all steps of the project was also greatly appreciated. There was a level of quality and pride in the work done that surpassed even our highest expectations. We give Morgan Construction our highest recommendation and are very grateful that we ended up accepting their bidshow more

We came to work with John Dufficy after reading some of his previous Angie s List reviews. Our project was still taking shape, and though we had initially planned to work with a contractor given the amount of work we had in mind, cost considerations led us to split the project out ourselves and bring in trades for the different parts of work. John served as our primary carpenter, and in that capacity he did a great job with the initial work of putting up dividing walls in our master bedroom one to create a foyer from a street entrance, the other to partition the space for closets we were designing. We were so satisfied with John s responsiveness, quality of work and value that we decided to retain him for several additional projects, including the construction and installation of the closet hardware, design, construction and installation of closet doors, build-out of second floor fireplace mantel, and assorted odds and ends. Throughout the project planning and work phases, John was not only patient with us as customers, but also provided great assistance and suggestions and we worked with our decorator in creating our vision for our space. Many of the suggestions that John made went into our final design, and the quality of his craftsmanship is quite apparent in the results (see accompanying pictures). John was great about providing thorough quotes, keeping the different parts of the project in budget, and working closely and responsively with clients that maintain heavy travel schedules. John made himself available to see through the city inspection process, which we successfully passed as a result of his attention to detail. Where cost overruns and delays are the norm, John completed everything in a timely fashion with minimal additional cost above that quoted. We are thoroughly pleased with the results. As our budget allows us to make additional planned improvements, we will certainly be calling on John s services in the future, and strongly encourage others with planned carpentry, millwork or other decorative woodworking needs to avail themselves of this conscientious and professional tradesman. I've worked with many contractors over the years and JJB is the best I've worked with for residential remodeling. That's no small statement. JJB is responsive, communicative, on-time and on-schedule, does not cut corners, always willing to tackle new issues or problems that arise during construction, respectful of neighbors / other tenants, and very fairly priced for the quality of work that they provide. We even had some city permitting issues from prior construction that JJB was able to take on and get cleared up. I can't express how much headache this saved me! On top of being great contractors, Joe and Jeff and their team are also just great people - very personable, easy to communicate with, and a pleasure to be around. They really desire to make their customers happy and to do good work. You won't find any cheap shortcuts or shoddy work with this team. We were first referred to MN Construction from our architect who had stated that his previous clients were extremely pleased with MN Construction's work quality, professionalism and dedication to helping them to achieve their goals. Well, we had the exact same experience. We had a difficult space to work with and MN Construction came in with a design/build expertise that maximized every inch of precious space that we had within our San Francisco home. As with every project, unexpected obstacles came up (unforseen structural issues, opportunities to maximize space, etc.) and Mike worked through every detail with us to meet our goals while still safeguarding our limited budget. The finished space is more than we could have imagined and our families could not be more impressed when they visit. The bathroom wound up being a completely customized bathroom and is something out of a magazine. Truly, the tile work was complicated, detailed and Mike's artistry really showed through...in fact, the tile manufacturer is now featuring the bathroom on their own website and wants to use MN Construction as a preferred contractor for referrals. After our first project, we completely trust Mike and his crew and immediately went into a complete double-paned window replacement throughout the house. Again, they provided custom work and kept the house as clean as possible while we were living in it. We are now embarking on our third project of a bedroom and bathroom remodel and we would not think of utilizing someone else. To find a contractor that you can trust and to truly get involved in the project as if it were their own own house is an impossible find but we found those qualities in Mike, his crew and MN Construction. Ken B and his crew helped us build the house we had envisioned and we are very grateful for the service he provided! Our construction was made complex by the fact that we split it into two back-to-back phases, while living onsite. We first tore down a portion of an old home, which we rebuilt into half of the new home (complete with kitchen, rooms, bathrooms, garage), completely finished. After moving from the old home into the new addition, we rebuilt the old home (from foundation and flooring up) into the other half of the new home, and finally connected the two sides. From the first day of demo until we completed the project, it took a little over a year and a half, with each individual construction project taking about half of that time - which we found very reasonable. Ken was very accommodating in making it so that we could live on site at all times, as well as allowing us to make refinements to the plans (when things weren't explicitly called out) all along the way. He did do very good work - calling in all the subs he needed to get the job done (i.e. roof, tile, plaster, paint), and was very competitive on price.
