Tonight, 82 members of the LACoFD’s USAR team are being deployed as USA-2, requested by the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Bureau of Humanitarian Assistance. They are headed to Turkey to help with life-saving assistance, joining USA-1 from Fairfax Co., VA.

#LosFloresIC 🚒🔥 On 2/3, #LACoFD FFs responded to a 1-story commercial structure fire in the City of Lynwood.   Knockdown was declared at 11:16 a.m. There were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation. 📸 @fox_first_on_scene_photography (IG)

On 1/24, recognized Matthew for his heroic actions. Matthew expressed his thanks for the CERT training he received that aided him in saving his mom’s life. Capt. Hasegawa & MTDs Dixon, Hoffman & Gonzales were also recognized for their dedication to CERT training.

GRATITUDE 👏🏼 Last July, Matthew & his family were riding ATVs in Indiana, when Matthew’s mother crashed into a log. Matthew quickly rendered aid to his mom, creating a tourniquet w/his t-shirt & calling 911. PMs transported Tracy to a local hospital & has made a full recovery…

CarriageIC 🔥🚒 #LACoFD Battalion 11 units engaged in the Carriage Incident (33’s first-in) on 1/29. Dispatched as an outdoor fire, the first arriving captain quickly upgraded the response. 1st alarm units quickly made a stop and prevented any further loss of property.

Caring ❤️ Yesterday, #LACoFD FFs assigned to FS 130 received a very special visit from McKenzie, who was involved in an accident 4 weeks ago. Thanks to the quick actions of the FS, ambulance, ER staff & McKenzie’s determined spirit, she is well on her way to a full recovery!

(1/2) It had been 50 years since then-toddler Alycia Jo Hernandez fell into a 15-foot-deep hole in Lomita on 1/9/71. After 5 decades, Alycia Jo, was reunited with the #LACoFD FFs who spent 6 hours, alongside construction workers, digging to rescue & bring her to safety.
