Big 12 football schedule keeps status quo for Texas, Oklahoma

The Big 12 revealed its football schedule Tuesday and it "treats OU and Texas fairly" while also satisfying the other conference members, according to Berry Tramel of the OKLAHOMAN. Tramel wrote the closest thing he can see to the "Big 12 sticking it to OU or Texas is that both have to play Texas Christian, the new bully on the block." The Big 12 also "didn’t stick either" OU or Texas with a Thursday night game, which OU has "avoided lo these many years." Tramel added the "main mystery" after the release was "neither OU or Texas celebrating it." While both schools "retweeted the Big 12's announcement," neither program "updated their schedules on websites or even mentioned it." Tramel notes it appears the conference "was more interested in satisfying its remaining members than vengeance" against OU or Texas. Since the conference went to a nine-game schedule, both programs have played "four home games and four road games, plus their traditional showdown in Dallas" and that format "didn’t change" in this schedule release (OKLAHOMAN, 1/31).
