I hate this trope. I learned about this from the news and have seen story after story this week. NYTimes, AP, WaPo, ABC, CBS, PBS, and more!

What if I told you that government incompetence just caused the equivalent of a major chemical weapons attack in the center of the United States, and none of the newspapers, tv channels, or blogs are reporting g it.

Went to Peekskill Brewery for dinner and had a tasty sour brewed with black currants and spruce tips. "River Currant" - Would drink again.

Good news! I refactored this to work with the Share Sheet. Here is how easy it is to use on macOS.

I made an Apple Shortcut to upload images to the WordPress Media library. It auto converts HEIF to JPEG so you don't have to. Just select the photos you want and they get uploaded. Check it out: cagrimmett.com/development/20

Charlie and I went on a walk in the woods and noticed the Skunk Cabbages starting to pop up. Last year we noticed them on February 10.

Wow, the new Apple MacBook Pro with the M2 Pro chip looks and feels like the MacBook Pro I had in 2008, right down to the body and MagSafe connector.

Times and temperatures matter less than you think they do, too. So much variation between stoves, ovens, and environments. You'll stress a lot less once you learn to recognize when something is done.

I don't know who needs to hear this: You don't need to measure with any kind of precision in most types of cooking. Some blogger made that recipe up. Eyeballing is totally fine. Baking, other than fine pastry, doesn't need precision either. But you aren't ready to hear that yet.

Tonight I asked my wife if anyone at her company has mentioned ChatGPT. Not a single person. We work in such different worlds. I don't think I've gone a day without talking about it or Copilot with someone at work.

After a year and a half, I think we finally found the winning combo for baby puke and poop stains: - Spray with Puracy while still fresh and let sit - Regular detergent + Oxiclean odorblaster + 20 Mule Team Borax - 30 minute pre-soak cycle, hot water - Extra rinse

Forget improv classes. Drive a car with a grumpy toddler in the back seat. You’ll figure out how to fill the silences pretty quickly since the stakes are higher.

It is amusing to me that ChatGPT is running on Microsoft’s Azure infrastructure and Microsoft Teams has already integrated it into the product. Every company I know that uses Windows, Teams, and Outlook are the absolute last ones I’d expect to embrace AI in their workflows.

$100/month for API access is a joke. I’ll never pay that for personal projects. You know who will pay? Scammers. With stolen credit cards and IDs.

Replying to @BillyM2k and @ericnakagawa
Yeah, free API is being abused badly right now by bot scammers & opinion manipulators. There’s no verification process or cost, so easy to spin up 100k bots to do bad things. Just ~$100/month for API access with ID verification will clean things up greatly.

Your sporadic reminder that backups of your website are a belt-and-suspenders situation. It's not enough that your host backs it up. You have to also back it up yourself. What if your host's backups are compromised in some way? What if you lose access to your hosting account?

The week of 50F (10C) weather has the crocuses popping up! They are in for a rough time when the temperature hits 6F (-14.4C) tomorrow.
