All around construction is without a doubt the worst contractor I have ever seen. First siding crew could not even get the courses straight. They broke the new "J" channel and just caulked over it trying to hide it. Cut "J'" channel to long on top, broke a chunk out of it, and cut to short on the bottom. The tops of all my windows looked like bananas. Drip edge was cut to long and I watched them beat it with a claw hammer trying to fix it, didn't work. That was it, called Charles, president, and told him to get them off my job. Next week second crew came while all this time the first crew left open wiring and sockets exposed to the rain. That was safe?? Anyway, second crew siding looked ok, still some mismatched seams. But the facia work was horrible, ends are not cut straight. They are not on the corners, one is cut to short and then they cut the next one to long and just beat the excess around the corners. My whole house , all the new siding, white corners are covered with grease finger prints. Eric told me that they would NOT wash the house. It all looks used, to say the least. they left holes in the siding where they cut wrong, guess they hoped I would not see it. A week ago the electrician came out to do the reconnect, we bought all new exterior lights for him to put up. 3 days ago, big wind, you all probably remember it, they blew off the house. As it turns out, he used sheet rock screws to install them, which is illegal, not up to code. So 2 days ago their Master Electrician came out to fix them. I was watching him, what a hack. They were worse than before, blamed it on the siding guys using the wrong box. He, Nate, called Eric and told him he just can't get them any better, they were way worse. I drove to Ace Hdw, bought a .33 cent spacer for each one. They no should last 15 years, like the last ones I put up. Today was the roof, I wish I never would have even started this project as All Around is the worst ever. Did I already say that? The drip is not cut to relief the overlaps, they stick out about 1/4", great seal against water like that. But, that is better than the corners of the house where the drip edge meets another, I can stick my finger between the drip edge and facia. But the worst has to be the outside corners of the drip edge they did. One of them, the hole is so big I stuck a pencil in it for the photo. None of them are cut on corner, the overlap on some sticks out. I other words, instead of it being tucked in behind the abutting drip edge, they just beat it around the corner with a hammer. It just gets worse from there. Today when I told Nick Zeman, he stated that when we meet he will show me why they do it that way. I got to ask, why they will leave huge holes in the roof for bees, bats, mice and squirrels to get in. I won't bore you much longer, but all should know that when Brian Kallhof first sent in the request to our insurance, Integrity of Columbus, OH, adjuster Matt J. denied the claim for the siding. Eventually telling me that Brian Kallhof was on the verge of committing fraud as he tried to pawn off the wrong siding sample on him. he got caught. I did get the siding approved, picked out the best Norandex makes, paid $13,000 check to All Around. A month later Brian calls me and tells me that he sold me siding that Norandex does not make. Should have have not known that. But that All Around was now going to sell me an inferior product, thinner, at the same price. I know that this is quite the horror story, well it is Oct. But I guess I was such a fool for staying with them. Moral of all of this is DO NOT EVER, EVER USE ALL AROUND CONSTRUCTION, 2265 Wayzata Blvd, Long Lake MN, FOR ANYTHING.

Hello [Member Name Removed], it is very common for there to be "punch list/re-repair" items at the end of an exterior remodel. We performed our own quality inspection and called out several items we wanted to correct on our own. Every time you have brought up a concern, you were met with prompt attention to it by an All Around representative. We have offered several times to come back out and re-do/repair the items you are concerned about and at this point you are refusing to let us back on your property to make any corrections needed. The photos you are posting online with the negative reviews are staged and you have manipulated materials to make the project look worse than it actually is. In your own words "I am the most anal person you have ever and will ever meet". Furthermore you are asking us to undo/redo work that is completed to manufactures spec and industry standards which is an unreasonable request. In our companies history we have not dealt with anyone that has your level of unreasonable expectations. You have also become vulgar, used profanity and been very rude with our staff members, which is unacceptable. Maybe you are looking for a way out of your financial obligation to pay your final bill. We are not sure, but what we are sure about is that we have provided you with a quality exterior remodel that will stand the test of time and mother nature. Again, the project does have some very minor faults, and any reasonable person would allow their contractor to make the necessary corrections to them. Please allow us the chance to correct the items on the final punch list so we can settle up with you and allow you to enjoy your beautiful new exterior. Charles Thayer Founder 763-458-3087

I definitely recommend All Around. We did a pretty major project on a large house with a full siding, gutters, stone work, and window replacement. The siding job in particular was really, really well done. They did what they promised, and our house looks great, and it was actually done quite a bit faster than we expected. It was far from cheap, but we didn't cut any corners on the project, and their bid was basically the lowest once everything was included. I do recommend All Around, these guys are legit.

The reps who came out were very nice and professional. They said they would return in a week with the estimate. The evening before they were to come back, I received a call saying they would not be able to make it the next morning, but would email me the estimate. I never received an email or heard from them again.

Thank you for the feedback. Per our conversation, it appears we did make the mistake of never sending your estimate. We will have that sent over to you asap, as I said we would on the phone. I do apologize for this mishap. I would blame being busy, but that is not an excuse. We failed to deliver the estimate as promised and it slipped through the cracks. Your Project Consultant has been made aware and he will be in touch with you very soon to discuss the proposal you will be receiving. Thank you very much for taking my call and we look forward to working with you.

All Around Delivered - My new roof and gutters look great! Kyle informed me a head of time of arrangements, executed as intended and met all my expectations. The crew was punctual, productive, and efficient. Supplies and dumpster were delivered and removed following a JIT process making the site clean and hazard free. All were courteous to work with. Thank you to the crew for the great job they performed. By the way, EVERYONE was respectful of both me and the property which seems to be harder and harder to come across. Kyle made this an easy and hassle free process. Thank you to everyone at All Around for a job well done.

They responded quickly to my request for an estimate. When that person looked at the situation and wasn't exactly sure of everything that would be needed, he came again with an an HVAC installer to make sure they gave me an accurate description of the job and the cost. They quickly made appointments for the installation and the painters. All workers were polite, patient and professional. I later had a concern about the performance of one of the vents. They quickly sent the installer over and he diagnosed the likely cause, took additional action and there was no additional cost to me even though a purchase was necessary. I chose them due to reviews on Angie's List. I would definitely contact them for future home repair services. First of all, I believe the cost was fair. The work was certainly done in a timely manner and I trusted each of the people who came to my home. The entire process was smooth and without stress.
Description of Work
Cut holes in roof and installed two broan vents, as one bathroom fan wasn't vented when house was built in 1990 and the other bath van was loosely vented to an incorrect vent type. They used perfectly matched replacement shingles. They connected the bath fans to the new vents. Due to the 1990 venting issues there was damage to the bathroom ceilings. They repaired the ceilings, painted the ceilings and also painted the walls.

The two biggest impressions, after having 5 total estimates, was that the owner of All Around plus my project manager came out to work on the initial consultation. All the paperwork was laid out and they had the best coverage guarantee as there may be an occasion to sell in the future, so the coverage applies to next owner. The owner and the project manager, very knowledgable and approached sales with education and utmost respect for all my questions as a person new to roofing old houses and St Paul building codes. What answers they didn't know, they helped connect and talk to other specialists within the company or ones they use as consultants/subcontractors. The project had to be delayed because of rain, which happens. I was kept apprised. All permits were done correctly. All options on the roof were given as choices (venting, type, etc), but I had the final say. All communication (phone/email) was very prompt and thorough. The actual foreman of the work team was knowledgable and the team worked hard. I will be honest and say (it was the end of Oct and was chilly) I reached out and made beverages (hot especially) available all day on my front porch in appreciation and respect for their hard work. The crew did an amazing job of cleaning up as well. The one thing I will request in the future (as we will definitely consider them), is the project manager stopping by in person on site and/or the empowerment of the foreman to discuss the progress, was decking to be replaced, etc., on the actual work day. To credit, my project manager was available by phone and answered questions about the progress of the the project. The project manager did come out after work was done a day later, re-swept the area for nails, etc., checked over the to do list. There were some tweaks that were revealed (such as new chimney flashing revealed the need for tucking) and we ran into a weird St Paul code, but was guided through and advised well. I did not make final payment until everything was done to both project manager's and my satisfaction. All costs were upfront, not hidden, and all discussed ahead rather than sticking me with it and surprising me...as nothing can be certain until the materials pulled out. The only add-on was the chimney tuck, which again had to do with the old flashing and new flashing being different shapes. As always, one must have patience when working on house projects and expect a few things to come up. All was in good hands with All Around.

All Around came through on short notice with a very competitive price relative to other reputable roofers. We could have found a less expensive roofer, but we wanted a company with a solid history of competent work. The dumpster ended up sitting in our driveway a day or so after the work was completed. All Around indicated that the dumpster company they use was running behind. Otherwise, the job went well.

Thank you for the kind words. I know the dumpster part can be a nuisance, but it's an unfortunate part of the project that we cannot go without. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if we can do anything for your in the future.

They were very professional and gave me lots of good insight into what to expect. I ended up not hiring them as another company gave me a very competitive price. The other company ended up coming back and raising the price a number of times on me and I ended up paying more than what All Around had quoted. After the fact, I wish I had just hired all-around. I would not hesitate to have them back to look at projects in the future.

These guys were great to work with. We particularly enjoyed working with Brandon - he was friendly, professional, honest and knowledgeable. We went back and forth with them on scope and price and were happy with the ultimate scope that still fit our budget. We enjoyed the seamless nature that AA handled things like installation day. Their "All American" crew, aka. all English speaking, was rock solid and finished tearing off our old roof and putting up the new one in less than a day! They were very efficient and did a nearly perfect job of picking up after themselves. Found some miscellaneous stuff around the yard afterwards, but it's impossible to do a perfect job rolling the front and back after a big job like they did. They were very smooth in handling the dumpster drop off the day before and picking it up the day of the install (they minimized the hassle of having a huge dumpster in your driveway, which was awesome!). They handled the city permits, inspection and GAF lifetime warranty with ease. It was a relief to pick such a reliable roofing company on a major project like replacing your roof. We like the way our roof looks now and have gone to AA for referrals for other services like plumbing, insulation, etc. b/c we trust them. They excel at what they do!

It was great from start to finish. The estimating process was done by the project manager and construction supervisor. They spent time to explain everything to me. Before any work was done, they arranged to have the city inspector out to validate the work plan, altered as needed, and then scheduled the job. Jake, the project manager, was a wonderful communicator and kept me informed at every step. The two men who did the work were so professional and approachable. They left everything in pristine condition. I initially graded the price as good rather than excellent jut because it was a lot of money. However, All Around provided the estimate, was willing to do the work, acknowledged difficult working conditions [deck built in clay soil and only about 4 feet off the ground] and we feel the price was absolutely fair. When they finished, it was excellent value for the money paid. So, I changed it to excellent. All Around does a variety of work and we will definitely keep them on our short list for upcoming projects. The experience could not have been better.

These guys had a rough couple of months is all I can assume. We have used All Around in the past for a small project so was excited to have them out to gut and remodel the bathroom. Here it was Mid April our deadline is by July 4th plenty of time. Things went bad to just get a quote from almost the beginning. We made an appointment with a PM #1 to come out on 4/16/15 we were called and told that PM was no longer with the company and they would have to send someone else, which was not a problem. We had PM #2 and the owner come out and take a look at the bathroom and went into a lot of detail about what exactly we wanted done. We had all materials picked out at Home Depot. We were told we would get a quote probably the following Monday or Tuesday which we did receive on time with the following message from the PM 2 "Attached is the Bathroom Remodeling Proposal for your property. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns regarding anything. Feel free to call me any time. My cell number is ***-***-*** No matter what your decision is we greatly appreciate the opportunity to work on your home. We wish you nothing but the best with your decision as I know they are not easy one's to make. We are here to help you with honest advice anyway we can." We did as I would hope all consumers would and we had a couple more companies come in to bid this project. Well here is where is starts to go downhill. 5/6/15 my husband talks with the PM 2 on the phone lets him know that we would like to accept the quote they gave us for work and set up a second appointment for him to come out 5/13/15 and do some measurements so that we could start this work as soon as possible after getting materials. However in almost a months time frame the material we wanted was sold out at Home Depot we had a new list of materials and knew it would change the cost of the project. PM 2 said that if we got the list to him before 5/13/15 he could do a revised quote before we met so that we could sign contracts and get things started. My husband sent things on 5/11/15 with some questions of our own on the changing of material costs and what is actually included in their line items. The next afternoon he received a call from the owner saying the PM thought we were being too picky and that they don't think they could ever do the job properly and we wouldn't never be happy with anything they did????? SO YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO ASK QUESTIONS!!! SURE WHERE DO I SIGN YOUR LEGAL DOCUMENTS. This gets better after talking with the owner a little more he felt maybe the current PM is a little overwhelmed and scheduled yet another PM #3 to visit who then wants to bring the subcontractor with him so there is no questions as to what we want done. GREAT sounds like a plan 5/13/15 5:30 comes I have a subcontract at my door and no PM who shows up over an hour later. We let PM #3 know we will send new materials list as our materials have changed by about $1000 since we couldn't get what we orginally wanted. Quote #2 comes back over a week later SCOPE OF THE WORK DID NOT CHANGE FROM TALKING WITH PM #2 AND THE OWNER, YET WHEN WE GOT THE QUOTE THE LABOR PHASE OF SAID PROJECT WENT UP 25%. Never did get a follow up call from PM #3. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR WASTING MY TIME. *********NEVER would I ever recommend anyone calling All Around.

As a business it is not in our best interest to waste our potential clients time, because we would be also wasting our own time. These repeat clients had nothing but praises for our company and told us many times how we saved them a lot of money and gave them honest information and estimates for the work that we performed in the past. So it was not a surprise when we received a request from them to take a look at their bathroom remodeling project. As stated in their review, the first inspection and estimate for the bathroom remodel was performed and delivered to them in a timely manner. It wasn't until they saw the estimated prices for the project that their opinion of our company went sour. They contacted the assigned Project Consultant and notified him in a condescending and sarcastic tone that our prices were extremely out of line and that we would NEVER hear from them again. Knowing that our prices were in line and competitive, we simply thanked them for the opportunity and wished them the best of luck. At this time we considered this estimate to be closed and no further action was needed. To our surprise we were contacted approx. 3 weeks later by the customer and were told that they would like to proceed with the project. This led us to believe that our initial estimate was right in line for the scope of work they wanted done, with the materials they picked out. We advised them that we needed a couple of weeks to get some of the specifics about the upcoming project detailed into our contract and asked for them to provide us with a detailed list of the specific materials they chose to be added to the bathroom remodel. During this time period our Project Consultant fielded an overwhelming amount of calls from the customers, which is never an issue, however with this particular customer they were very pushy and demanding in that if they did not receive a call-back from our Project Consultant within an hour they would call into our office and demand to speak with management. Please keep in mind we were very clear and up front that this is our busy season. We value all customers and we work long hours in an effort to help as many people as we can. As a result of this, our lead times can get extended beyond our control. However, we are always responsive and this part of the review is 100% fabricated. It is important to remember that this review is sole based on an ESTIMATE. After management had received several inquiries about us not responding to them within an hour or so of them contacting the Project Consultant, the founder of our company decided it was best for him to step in and contact the customers himself. On that phone conversation the customers used vulgar language and kept referring to our Project Consultant as a "dumb young kid", please keep in mind the Project Consultant is over the age of 30 with a wife and 3 young children. After hearing this, the founder of the company decided to let the customers know that we were probably not the best fit for the demands of their project, based on their demeanor. We offered to refer them to another company and they asked if we would please reconsider. We then told them we would think about it and call them back later that day. Not even an hour later we were already receiving a call back from them wanting to know if we were willing to proceed. At this time we decided we would go ahead and help the customer and in turn earn the business of their bathroom remodel. In addition to this we thought it would be good to start over again so to speak, and assign a new Project Consultant for them to work with. The new Project Consultant thought it would be in everyone's best interest to bring out our foreman in order to be sure everyone is on the same page and everything is crystal clear as to what all is being done. Upon that visit the customers added work to the previous scope that had been bid on. They also gave us a new list of materials that were to be used. They forgot to mention in their review that the cost for some of the newly selected materials were substantially more than what they previously wanted. Some of the items were more than 5 times the cost of the original items selected. It's no wonder the price of the project would then increase as a result of these expenses and the additional scope added. We then provided the final estimate and did not receive any further communication from the customer. We did attempt to reach out to them multiple times to discuss the new estimate. If you are a potential customer of All Around, we ask that you take this review with a grain of salt. Please take some time to look at the several pages of amazing reviews we do have. This will give you a true representation of track-record. Of course we are not perfect and we do make mistakes, but we are always there to make things right when we do. In this case I don't know if we could have done anything more than what we did in order to try and make these customers happy.

We had a flood in our basement after all the rain last spring. After the clean-up was completed, Jesse Smith from All Around came in and bid the reconstruction job. I attempted to get a bid from a couple of other contractors, but they never showed up. Jesse not only showed up at the scheduled time, he was also very professional and personable, explaining what work needed to be done and the time frame it would take his company to complete the job. We accepted his bid. He then sent a team in to do the job and even coordinated subcontractor work, permits, etc. They were professional, prompt, polite, friendly and showed up every day until the job was done and the results are fabulous. They even worked directly with our insurance company to make sure everything done was covered and there were no surprises after the fact. They were so great to work with, we are also hiring them for work that needs to be done at an office building we own. I highly recommend this contractor!

Hi (removed member name), WOW! Thanks for the amazing review. It's never fun to have to go through what you had to. When we are able to make that process less stressful it's always a rewarding feeling because that is what we strive to do. Jesse and our entire team are thankful for the work you provided us with and we are here for you if you ever need anything.

We did not hire All Around because they did not get a bid back to us when they said they would, which caused us to miss our chance to get the project completed on time. We were upfront that our timeline was tight (due to an impending move) because we didn't want to waste their time if they thought the job was going to be too big for the time allowed; the All Around coordinator assured us they could handle it and that they would get back to us with a bid in time to get the work done. However, we had to follow up multiple times and still did not get a bid - when the coordinator did get back to us, he said they just didn't have time to fit the job in their schedule. This was disappointing because we were excited to use them and we liked the sub-contractor who came out to view the project, but based on this experience we won't contact All Around for future jobs.
Description of Work
We contacted, but did not hire All Around for a general remodeling project including installing a new tub, sheet-rocking a garage, and a list of other punch work.

We received a phone call from the customer requesting detailed estimates on two different properties, both which had rather large scopes of work. This call came in on September 15th. We arranged for a bid meeting of both properties on the 18th. At that time our estimator informed the customer that we were several weeks out with scheduling. We always try and be as transparent as possible with our schedule up front so our customers have the information they need in order to determine if we will be a good fit for the time frame they have allotted for their project/s. The customer indicated he wanted the work completed by the 26th of September. Because we were a few weeks out on scheduling at the time of the initial meeting it was clear that we would not be able to meet his original deadline. If there was a hard deadline that the work needed to be completed by, then the customer surely would have told us that at that time. This did not happen, we were asked to proceed. By no means did we "cause" any deadline to be missed. We received the customers final selections on September 20th. At that time we notified him he would not receive the final estimate until 22nd or 23rd. When it came time to delivering the bid the customer he told us to not even bother. So you can understand why our frustration is equal to his as we invested a lot of time into these two projects to in the end not even have our estimate considered, when we feel we were up front about our process at that time. We are not sure what we really did wrong other than meet with the customer and prepare a bid for all of the work he wanted done to the two properties. Both of which were done at no cost. In all honestly we feel the timeline in which the customer had to get all of this work done, let alone the lag time for obtaining pricing and lead time for all of the specific items, was not realistic. We are grateful for the opportunity we were given to earn his business and we are regretful that he did not allow us to submit the estimates in which many people worked very hard on to get for him. We will always strive to meet all deadlines, but we are human as well and we cannot always meet every deadline a customer puts in place for us. In this case we were very open and up front about our scheduling. We are sorry this didn't work out.

They did a fantastic job! They powered washed, scraped, and sanded all areas to be painted. They replaced wood that was deteriorated. They did all this in a timely manner and completed the work ahead of the schedule. When the work was completed it looked fabulous. They were professional and accommodated all homeowners.

I had gotten previous estimates to repair the whole in my garage roof and all of the other contractors wanted to replace the whole roof or even worse half the roof. Charles came out and was very nice and was straight with me and said you only need to get the whole fixed. He could have easily went along with the other contractors but Charles WAS A GOOD HONEST MAN! Everything was done properly clean when they left and was completed on time. I couldn't be happier and will be calling on All Around for my future re-models I am planning.

The crew did a great job. The prep work was extensive -doors an windows covered, fixtures removed and probably more that I didn't see-since the windows and and doors were covered. But judging by all the items in the yard, it was extensive. When complete, we did a circuit tour of the house and garage. Both buildings look great. The painted areas just "glowed", probably the semi-gloss. We are impressed by the professionalism shown by All Around - the estimate process to the finished work. Added 9/24/14 The house was built in 1948 not 1970

(removed member name), We were happy to help make your home shine again. Prep work is everything when painting and it's a great feeling when someone acknowledges the work that goes into that. It was a pleasure working with you.
