There are 2 sides to every story. Customer contacted Norblom by phone to schedule appointment to look at several items. We provided rates over phone in addition to sending confirmation electronically including rates. The Plumber arrived & did some work and some investigation, all while the customer was asking questions and adding things to look at. Overall time spent was 2:15. Plumber presented the final invoice & customer PAID THE INVOICE. The next day the customer calls to rave about the Plumber but was not happy about the price. The customer believed this was a "sales call" & was expecting this to be a free visit. Why did he pay the Plumber? We attempted to explain that this was setup as a service call. (we don’t do “Sales Calls”.) This was a very one-sided conversation with the customer repeating himself over & over. Despite explaining that this was quoted as a service call & they were advised of costs in TWO instances, the customer dissented. We asked asked what he was looking for? This is when the customer threw out that he was going to spend $10,000 with us depending on the outcome of this discussion. Again, what is that you want? He said we should know by now. We asked to be candid & he agreed. We explained that he was not being reasonable that this was a service call and was not a sales call. We were at a point that we were willing to offer something when the customer started swearing and making threats. (apparently only he could be candid and we could not) We determined that we can’t make the customer happy regardless of what he wanted. We were prepared to discount entire amount as a credit towards his "$10,000" that he claimed he wanted to spend with us. We are family operated business since 1923. We want happy customers! In 98 years, we have earned trust of many customers. We’ve learned that everyone has a different perception of customer service. It saddens us, but this customer was one of the rare customers that we could not make happy. #NOTHILARIOUSService Provider Response
