Artistic Pools Ltd

The pipes were supposed to be under pressure before/when the new deck was laid. Later we found out the pipes were not holding pressure - when the remodeled pool was started there was a gushing leak under the deck due to the busted pipe . The contractor should have seen the lack of pressure on the monitor and should have fixed the pipes before the day the deck was laid. Too many sub-contractors showing up and not caring about the overall outcome of the project. the pool is still loosing more water than before the remodeling and no one can identify and fix the leak..

AMERICAN POOL SERVICE INC

They are punctual and professional, but very expensive for work done. They charge you for everything. Your pool cover has to be clear of all leaves and water for opening or there is a $100 fee. All chemicals are extra. Their service for opening and closing is through, but not worth the price.

POOLS BY ANDREWS
2.0
WE ADVISE AGAINST USING POOLS BY ANDREWS. SINCE COMPLETING THE GUNITE WORK IN MID-APRIL, ANDREWS HAS WORKED AT OUR SITE FOR ONLY 6 DAYS IN THE PAST 2 MONTHS AND ONLY 2 DAYS IN THE PAST 20 DAYS OF JUNE. THEY HAVE 95% OF OUR TOTAL MONEY. PHONE CALLS ARE OFTEN IGNORED, REQUIRING REPEAT PHONE MESSAGES OVER SEVERAL DAYS. SCHEDULES ARE CONSTANTLY PUSHED BACK WITH NO RESPONSIBILITY ASSUMED. COMPLAINTS ARE MET WITH SARCASM AND VEILED THREATS ABOUT SHODDY WORK AND FURTHER DELAYS. ADDITIONAL CONCERNS INCLUDE: (1) SALESMAN'S ESTIMATES OF GRADING REQUIREMENTS: ESTIMATE WAS 2-3 FEET, ACTUAL WAS 8 VERTICAL FEET (RESULT: REQUIRED MORE THAN $5000 IN ADDITIONAL GRAVEL AND DIRT FILL. (2) SALESMAN'S RECOMMENDATION TO USE ANDREWS ELECTRICAL SUBCONTRACTOR -75% OF PAYMENT UP FRONT WITH POOR RESPONSIVENESS AND DELAYS IN SCHEDULE

This business is now managed out of Danvers, MA. [*** Link removed ***] As a review on Google said, they do not return phone calls. The quality of the work is OK, but billing was all messed up and there is no ability to have a conversation with anyone.

WHAT A COMPLETELY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. THEY DRAGGED OUT THE PROJECT FOR MONTHS. THEY INSTALLED CHEAP SYSTEMS INSTEAD OF THE EXPENSIVE ONES ON THE CONTRACT -- THEN REFUSED TO REPLACE THEM SAYING WE DON'T NEED THEM (EVEN THOUGH WE PAID FOR THEM). THEY ARE ALWAYS INCORRECT OR INACCURATE ON THE PHONE AND DON'T RETURN CALLS OR FOLLOW-UP WITH ANYTHING. THEY CHARGE FOR THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS OF EXTRAS THAT WE NEVER ASKED FOR, NEEDED OR WANTED. JUST ABOUT EVERY DETAIL OF THE PROJECT WENT WRONG AND THEY DON'T RESPOND TO ANY REQUESTS FOR HELP. THE TELEPHONE GATEKEEPER IS A NICE PERSON, BUT IS TRAINED TO MAKE SURE CALLS DON'T GET PAST HER OR QUESTIONS ANSWERED GENERICALLY AND INACCURATELY TO KEEP CUSTOMERS IN THE DARK

The service was great and they were a pleasure to deal with. The price, quality, and service were fantastic. I would hire them again in a heart beat. My only regret is that I only have one pool for them to service. A+++++++++

Frank J O'Reilly Electrical Service
5.0
We had a very hard time trying to find an electrician with any availability. I finally came to Angie's list and found Frank. He called me the same day, came and gave me a free estimate and was back the very next day to do the job. Very professional, helpful, and provided excellent service. We would definitely hire him again

They’ve been very good. We are new to owning a swimming pool, so they were very good at doing the introductory stuff and they provided good service.

When they built our pool, they were like our best friends. Then the 5 years or so they serviced the pool we were just customers. They seemed to have a very different crew servicing our pool the summer of 2013, and we experienced problems with algae on a regular basis that they could not fix and misc other issues that were totally new for the 2013 season. We switched pool service companies for 2014 and have had absolutely no algae or other problems. The pool is once again pristine requiring just minimal service. Further, 7 evergreens adjacent to the pool area were damaged by improper disposal of pool chemicals and the company did not even make an effort to visit our property to view the damage. They responded to letters with obfuscation to avoid any responsibility. I would avoid the company and choose another pool company who is more careful with who they hire as employees in the field

We used family pools to open, close and perform bi- weekly maintenance on our pool last summer. They were great. They came when they said they would and did exactly what they said they would at a reasonable price. What more could you ask for?

Jimmy Largy oversaw everthing from beginning to end and was always available for questions. He also raised several excellent ideas that I had not considered during the project that saved me money and future maintenance. I was very pleased with the outcome. I highly recommend.
-always reliable -careful attention to all pool services - goes above and beyond to make sure preventative and present problems are avoided/fixed - works efficiently and effectively - easy to reach - has helped with additional house projects above pool work - genuinely good guy
Nice family owned pool business. Hired them to replace our inground pool liner, pump, filter and add a heat pump. They are quite busy so it took a month and a half or so to get on their calendar, but they are worth the wait. They are very easy to work with, the staff is all friendly, and we love how our pool looks
Great, Prices are listed on website along with all forms to schedule. I submitted contract and deposit and had pool installed within 2 weeks. Tom was able to work around a narrow entract to my backyard. Along with has been very responsive to questions since pool was installed to help provide information on the pool
This past winter, my vinyl pool wall started to cave in, due to rusting of the support structure. I placed calls to 17 different construction & pool repair companies, and Ranieri Construction were the ONLY ones that were willing to roll up their sleeves and take on the repair job (everyone else just seemed to want to sell me an entire new pool!). Louis and his family were amazing from start to finish. They are very skilled - from excavating the old deck, ratcheting back the pool walls, and pouring the new footings & deck, they clearly knew what they were doing, and the finished product is great. Louis was very attentive to detail. They spent time with me to explain the work that needed to be done, always stayed in touch with what was going on, were very careful to respect the property and always cleaned up. Even though it wasn't in our contract, Louis even offered to fill in gaps between my pool coping and deck all the way around the pool as a preventative measure so that I wouldn't have an issue with the other pool walls in the future. In short, I couldn't be more happy with Ranieri Construction - they are a great family business, and I wouldn't hesitate for a second to use them for any new projects down the road
I was told I needed to give 350 dollars for service call but it would be refunded to me when the work started. They never told me how much it was to have the work done I was told" Don't worry we will take care of you." I kept asking how much is the cost I was told many times I will get you the information but never received it for days. Meanwhile my check was cashed. Finally after the check was cleared from the bank I receive the quote about 7 thousand dollars. Being elderly and having my husband just pass away I was beside myself. I could not afford this much money and did not have a clue it would cost that much I told them to please return the money I cant do the job. I was told "Your not getting the money back because you are not having the work done by us.'' That was cost of service call he said. I told them that's a lot of money can you send me half back I was told NO. I feel like I was scammed into giving this money to them. Not only did I give them the money It was very hard to get him to come to the house to talk with them about the work It was all around a bad experience for me and I really trusted them. Lesson learned but money I really can used taken. Not a good compan
We just finished our pool construction with AFFORDABLE POOLS! Know what? It's the BEST contracting experience we have ever had, and we have done quite a bit of project. The price was awesome and all of the staff we worked with were quick and responsive. I have already referred them to a couple of friends who are also happy with them. Yay
PRG has been my pool service company for many years. They always return phone calls, come when scheduled, and take care of any problems. My pool water has never been cleaner or easier to maintain than it has been since they have been opening and closing my pool.I had a crisis on my hands because I found out I needed a new pool heater 4 days before a big graduation party! Mark was able to get me a new heater and install it the next day. He even contacted the gas company because I couldn't get them to come on time to complete the job, and he got them to come the same day. He definitely went the extra mile for me
I moved into my current home in late 2016 and discovered that Southshore Gunite built the pool and spa back in 1986 when they were located in Hanover, MA, so I got in touch with them when I needed help with the pool in the summer of 2017. We discussed a pool cover, which I ordered, and resurfacing the pool, which I didn't order right away. While waiting for the cover, I realized that I had a sizeable leak (300 gal/day) in the underground pool plumbing and arranged for SSG to come find the leak and fix it. After they didn't confirm I called and was told that they just had too many pools to close, and they couldn't fix my leak this year. They did eventually come and close the pool and install the cover. The cover seems to work; see attached photo. This spring (2018) I wanted to avoid the pool-opening rush, so I called SSG to see when would be the best time to open the pool and find the leaks. The kind woman who spoke to me got back later that afternoon, having talked to her boss, to tell me that (1) they had not built my pool (according to the building permit, Southshore Gunite did build the pool, but probably before records were computerized) (2) they only closed my pool because they expected me to resurface my pool (I guess the $6500 cover does not make me a valuable customer), and (3) they would neither open my pool this year nor help find and fix the leaks. So, I'm looking on Angie's list for pool services. I can only conclude that SSG really only wants to build new pools or resurface old ones and that anything else is a distraction. I'm guessing that they service pools they build because the owners expect it after spending several 10's of thousands of dollars. I may resurface my pool this year or next, but it won't be done by SSG
I had Ferrari pools remove my old pool and put in a new one. The final product is a nice pool, but the service was well below average and the price was high and there were many many add-ons. I had talked to them to get specifics on price and showed my concern about over-runs and that I wanted to understand the full cost. Everything always came in higher than estimated and there were things they didn't mention as additional costs. Examples, they estimated the cost of the electrical work to be $3000-$3500, (in writing) the bill was $4360. When I asked about it and the quote, the only response was and quot;that's the costand quot;.. but you estimated 3000-3500.. and quot;that's the costand quot;.. it was like talking to a brick wall. They forgot to mention that it would cost $4500 for site planning, and quot;well, we couldn't anticipate thatand quot;. They pool is less than 100 feet from wetlands, how could you not? An additional $1500 or so for stones as they were having trouble getting the trucks right up to the site, and quot;that's your costand quot;, $800 for truckloads of water, etc, it went on and on.. As far as service goes, total lack of communication on timing and payments etc. They never once called before to say when they were going to show up or arrive. One day, they just arrived, would disappear then reappear. I never knew if they were coming, what was next and when. I was away on vacation when the pool was actually gunuited.. nice surprise to come home to! The workmen had no respect for my property, they wanted to make it easier to get in and out so they simply took a chainsaw and cut off major branches to trees. That was a huge shock. I was even home and came out to see my trees bald and misshapen. If they needed to do that, they should have asked.. then of course they simply left all the branches in the driveway for me to clean-up. They also hit and broke a fence post and gave me a run around at first, then agreed to repair and then never did. We had some issues hitting ledge, they had mentioned that, and we had to adjust and it cost extra, I was bummed, but understood. I don't hold that one against them. This was the second gunite pool I had installed so I had a benchmark for service. I had used AquaKnot in Weymouth and they are hands down far better. If I had to do it again, I would go with them and not Ferrari. They called and updated regularly, told me when they were coming, what to expect and how long it would take... and then they did it. They also stuck to the budget and didn't have unexpected add-ons. The payment expectations were upfront and transparent. Just a better organization and therefore experience all around
Excellent, I highly recommend James and Mass Pools. He's professional, smart, fair, pricing is excellent and he's a very honest guy that I could trust. I'm looking forward to seeing him in the Spring to re-open the pool and help us with some repairs and repainting.

They are short staffed, it took us months to get someone in to take measurements for a pool cover. Even though they didnt install the pool we have, they are familiar with it, so when we asked for ballpark price for a cover, $1,000.00 didnt sound bad (not knowing a thing a bout pools). 3 months of going over almost every weekend to test the water, and FINALLY someone came out for measurements... WELL 3 weeks waiting for estimates and another measurement visit and a quote came in for $3000.00 and denial of the first quote. Thank GOD for Angies list, we saw there are other companies around and we can price shop around and get a cover and get the pool buttoned up when we need it done and not have to beg and beg and beg for service
These guys are great ... they do their best to schedule appointments to fit my schedule, and they're always on time. They're very responsive and return phone calls (though in busy season it may take a day or so). If anything is wrong, they let me know and give me options for how to proceed. Once, when I forgot to unlock the gate to the pool area, they climbed over the fence to perform the pool opening! In case anyone is wondering, I view that as a plus. The only reason I may not use them again is that they're in Acton and I'm in Arlington, and for that distance they charge an extra travel fee, and it's beginning to add up. Also, I'm not working near Acton anymore so going to their store (they have a great selection of patio furniture too, by the way) will be very inconvenient
Robert was very knowledgeable and professional. I investigated 4 other vendors prior to selecting American Leak Detection. They have developed sophisticated technologies in their specialty of leak detection to pinpoint a leak. Since they only do leak detection and not repair it was important that I could trust his recommendations as being objective. His analysis helped us make educated decisions on very expensive repairs so having the right answers was critical. Robert went carefully through each of his findings which was very helpful. A pleasure to work with
Workmanship is A+, beautiful pool, well built. Subcontractors for paver deck, waterfall is fantastic. The project was a fall-spring build, overall the experience had its ups and downs. The company owner, operations manager, and build foreman are responsive, and do very good work. The salesman/designer is another story. The guy is unreliable, never shows up on time or at all, leaves out a lot of details and basically wants to get the job and moves on to the next sale. He basically abandoned us, resulting in our pool completion being significantly delayed. Overall we are happy with the pool and final product. The process had very painful moments. I recommend them and would use them again, but if you are considering using them and find that initials P.B. is the salesman, call the office and request one of the other salesman or the owner and you will have a much better experience. The bad grades above are mainly due to the sales guy. Everyone else was A+
They were awesome. They did everything in their power to keep the price down. They really improvised to what they could do knowing what my budget was. I would use their services again in the future if needed.

We had contracted with Heritage to have a new pool liner installed. While we were waiting for the liner to be installed, the pool pump was starting to have problems. It wasn’t serious, so we arranged with them to do the repair when the liner was installed. Well the pump was starting to have serious problems so I called them to tell them of the problem and see where we were on their install schedule. There were a couple of jobs ahead of us, but they would try and get someone out there . It seemed like within an hour of talking to them, someone showed up and repaired the pump. I have found this company to be knowledgeable about what they sell, pleasant to work with, and willing to provide good customer service.
