Earn Your Associate of Arts in Counter Terrorism Studies Online

Explore the complexities and challenges of combatting terrorism in our post-9/11 world and gain a greater understanding of terrorism’s origins through American Military University’s (AMU) counter terrorism studies associate degree program.

The AA in Counter Terrorism program is designed to provide preparation often required for professional responsibilities within public safety organizations. Your studies familiarize you with the mind of a terrorist to unravel their motivations, tactics, and strategies. Coursework is taught by dedicated leaders with experience from roles with the U.S. intelligence and public safety communities.

You will explore fundamental drivers of terrorism, key terror organizations, and the systems in place used to predict and deter short- and long-term threats. You will also learn to use the theory and history of terrorism and political violence to determine how it might evolve and what countermeasures are available.

AMU’s programs are online with 24/7 access and no set login times. At AMU, there are no entrance exams and classes start every month, so you can begin quickly and control your schedule.
