Don’t let scammers take advantage of you or loved ones this holiday season. Anyone requesting personal information & money for disaster recovery assistance should not be trusted. 🚫 We never charge for services. ✔️ We always have a photo-ID badge. ☎️ Report Fraud: 866-223-0814
Beware of fraud. FEMA representatives and inspectors will always have an official identification badge. Always ask to see I.D. FEMA representatives never charge a fee or ask for payment. You must provide your SSN when you apply with FEMA, and it may be used later to verify your identity. Do not offer any personal information unless you are speaking with a verified FEMA representative.

A reminder if you're shoveling snow after a storm, take it easy! Don't overexert yourself! ❄️Dress warmly ❄️Stay hydrated ❄️Move small amounts of snow at a time ❄️Take frequent breaks
a graphic that reads "Shovel Smart! Shoveling heavy, wet snow can cause back injuries and heart attacks. Don't push yourself! Dress warmly, making sure to cover your head, fingers, and toes. Stay hydrated, but avoid heavy meals right before or after shoveling. Move only small amounts of snow with each pass of the shovel. Take frequent breaks. Stop shoveling entirely if you feel exhausted!" and a photo of a snow shovel moving snow.

Stay on your guard if there's a Tornado Watch or Warning where you are! Tornadoes can be deadly. If you're under a Warning, shelter immediately. Stay away from windows, doors & outside walls. Sign up for alerts & find safety tips on the FEMA App: fema.gov/app
Be prepared for a tornado. Tornadoes can destroy buildings, flip cars, and create deadly flying debris. Tornadoes are violently rotating columns of air that extend from a thunderstorm to the ground. They can happen anytime or anywhere, bring intense winds, & look like funnels. If you are under a tornado warning, find safe shelter right away. Go to a safe room, basement, or storm cellar. Stay away from windows & doors
