Using JOLTS total nonfarm state estimates from December 2005 to December 2021, we compare Texas to states with similarly sized economies—California, Florida, and New York—as well as to the United States during the two most recent recessions.
This Beyond the Numbers article examines the 2021 CPI, PPI, and MXPI price increases in the context of historical periods of high inflation, as measured by the surveys. Finally, data trends are examined to explore whether trends from the previous year continued into the first quarter of 2022.
This Beyond the Numbers article will describe the unemployed people per job openings ratio and examine unemployment and job openings trends by looking at estimates at the national level from December 2000 to December 2021, and at the state and regional level from December 2017 to December 2021.
