The American Political Science Association celebrates the appointment of Dr. Claudine Gay as the 30th president of Harvard University. Dr. Gay is the Wilbur A. Cowett Professor of Government and of African and African-American Studies and the Edgerley Family Dean of the Harvard Faculty of Arts and Sciences. She is an outstanding scholar and political scientist specializing in democracy, political participation, and race and politics in America, as well as an accomplished university leader. She will be the first Black president of the university.

The APSA Presidential Task Force Report on Systemic Inequalities in the Discipline, led by former APSA president Dr. Paula D. McClain, is available for review and engagement on the Task Force’s new website. The task force report and recommendations will inform the association’s work to address inequities and systemic inequalities in the profession.

Call for Editors for Perspectives on Politics | Deadline: January 2, 2023

APSA invites applications and nominations for the editorship of Perspectives on Politics. One of the Association’s three flagship journals and now in its 20th year of publication, it receives over 500 article submissions and solicits 350 book reviews per year. APSA is open to proposals for the editorship that include innovative individual and institutional collaborations, including diverse international teams at a single institution or multiple institutions.
