Our audience data says that besides hard news topics (which I’ll break down another time) our audiences want more positive stories and culture coverage. People are tired of feeling burnt out by too many negative news stories.
Shoutout to for this great story.

Awesome local reporting by showing how environmental issues are linked with system racism. Those effected by the lead poison are majority spanish speaking communities. Yet the government departments responsible to clean it up did not do enough and lied about it.
Quote Tweet
I spoke to community researchers who found elevated levels of lead in homes that were previously cleaned by the DTSC as part of the Exide clean-up.
They also found high levels of lead in homes outside the clean-up radius.
My latest for @LAPublicPress.

At one point I was working 3 jobs at once to pursue my dream.
Got to work on the webby nominated “The Sellout.?
Co-founded a newsroom (now I work one job 😊).
Worked on not people pleasing and worked on my imposter syndrome.

Our team has surveyed hundreds of LA County residents so far. One thing I’ve learned is that a lot of people get news and information from their friends.
I’ll share more details about what I’ve been learning from everyone in the coming months.☺?

Just found out that the “modern smoke and carbon monoxide detectors? my apartment had were actually just regular old smoke detectors. I’ve been living in this apartment for almost a year w/o a CO detector.
Make sure you have one and it works, especially if you use a heater.

Boston Dynamics robot dog featured in New York fashion week. This comes at a time when Los Angeles City Council is voting on approving the donation of a robot dog to LAPD. These things will be used to harm our communities. They aren’t cute.
