I had a great opportunity at Dell as a TSR, learned everything I could in 11 weeks and over attained almost every quarter. Only thing I would change is the salary.

Dell has great benefits with BSBC and a PPO available if you need it.Direct leader is great and fights for me. She's a good mentor and my mentor in an unrelated org is solid as well. I started with EMC and while I enjoy working for Dell in my position it feels like the higher ups have had to or decided to focus on cost cutting measures that are resulting in worse service. Part of it is a major challenge and working with major customers it feels like it's just constant apologizing. Saying that... the resources the company has are great. ERGs, misc awards for performers, and LTIs/RSUs if you're the top. You can take several Dell certifications per year for free and 5 non-Dell ones for free as well. If you need more leadership can approve. $500 discount to gym or workout equipment, FSA/HSA, samsung at work, 401k matching, bonus that regularly pays out at or above 100% in some orgs- not this year though, likely to be under 100%.Leader supports job change but hiring freeze and constant changing of REQs along with many positions not getting posted with team members not being aware leads to severe difficulty moving outside of your org. Maybe other orgs are better... I feel like I constantly see outside promotions to those outside of the org. I also feel like any interest in what's happening and what's being presented to the customer is ignored even after many requests.Pay is good but negotiate for best starting pay as raises are what you would expect with my experience being 1%-4.7%. Worklife balance is great for my team, lots of flexibility, minimal micromanagement and I can't say enough about my direct manager. My previous 2 managers were also good.Overall I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to join to apply. If you get the job, utilize the resources and benefits to your advantage. If you enjoy it, start networking right away within your org and outside of it as soon as possible. If I were to ever leave Dell it would be at the top of past employers and near the top of possibilities.
ISR III in Austin, TX
on January 13, 2023
It was great working for Dell, learned alot about computers and servers. The frustrating thing was an outdated workflow. I worked in SMB and they use a homegrown system DSA. Alot of your time was spent manually submitting data and updating pipeline. The reason I left is because they changed the alignment after I was promoted to ISR III. They changed it from a traditional alignment of 1 specialist for servers, 1 ISR III, and 3-4 ISR IIs (pretty much SDRs that can close deals under 15k) and changed the alignment to a round robin style where you could have anywhere from 3 ISR deals that are subbed to you (bigger deals over 15k or server deals) to 10 or 12 reps you have to keep updated on the deals they bring to you. Very frustrating but overall I enjoyed the experience.
