French's Waterscapes
5.0
We had 4 different contractors work on our yard landscaping, and we interviewed each carefully. Cash's waterscape work was the best of the bunch. He was thoughtful, committed and conscientious. Best of all, unlike other works, his stood the test of time.

RIPPLE EFFECT WATER GARDENS
5.0
Perfect! The rocks were delivered one day and the next day the crew arrived in force bright and early. This was one of the happiest, hard working crews I have ever seen. I couldn't believe how they manhandled huge boulders. They put in a 12 hour day! Had it fired up and running with plants and lights that evening. We couldn't believe it! We had dinner outside that night with a wonderful view and sound. The next day the electrician arrived for the final wiring hookup. They removed and wrapped many of our plants to make room for the fall and then replanted them the next day where ever we wanted them. They installed about 15 water plants that they supplied. They protected our lawn with plywood sheets for the wheel burrows hauling rocks and left the yard clean and undamaged. You wouldn't know they had been there and the water fall looks like it has always been there

Landcon Landscape Construction
4.0
The work started about a month after the agreed time, and Bruce did not call or email to let us know the status of our project start. He was often slow to answer emails, but was fairly quick about answering phone calls. He was pleasant to work with and highly knowledgeable with years of experience in landscaping. I understand that he has since hired someone to run the office so hopefully his response times are much quicker. When the work finally started it went in a timely fashion, and Bruce's crew was extremely skillfull. We are quite pleased with the outcome of the work done, and have received many compliments from passersby

Hansen Landscape Contractor
5.0
It went extremely smoothly. After Steve and Peter came up with some really great ideas and helped us finalize the landscaping plans, they sent over a crew to tidy up the existing lawn areas in the interim before the project could start. Once the project started, Jack supervised the job and kept us informed of what was going on at all times. There were a few days where schedules changed, but since we weren't on a tight timeline, it all worked out fine. Jack kept in contact and let us know what to expect each week as far as scheduling, the supplies that would be delivered and where they would be stored, and how big the crews would be. The crews were great and really knew what they were doing. They showed up promptly each day they were scheduled, and they left the area neat and tidy every time. Hugo patiently answered all of my questions during the project as well. Our new yard looks *great*! The neighbors are happy, and friends and family have said how impressed they are with the quality of the workmanship. The new trees and plants are doing well and the backyard is a great place to spend time. I would recommend Hansen Landscaping to anyone who needs landscaping services. They weren't the cheapest option for us, but the quality of the landscape design and installation, and the excellent communication throughout the process was worth it

EARTHCARE LANDSCAPING
5.0
In order to obtain the Santa Clara Water District Landscape Rebate, it was necessary for Earthcare and the Water District to communicate. I originally contacted Earthcare in July, but because the Rebate program was new, the Water District didn't finalize rules for its program until the 3rd week of August. These rules stated that the homeowner must submit a list of plants along with a design and an estimated coverage per plant of the yard to the Water District, and then must wait for the District to issue a Notice to Proceed before starting work. Obviously since Earthcare, as part of their Natural Front Yard program, was picking the plants and making the design, I needed them to either submit everything to me before they started work, so I could submit it to the Water District, or to contact the Water District directly to work out a compromise with the District that the District would accept. I called both the Water District and Earthcare repeatedly, over a period of about 3 weeks (very frustrating!), but it wasn't until I mentioned that I intended to write about my experience on Angie's List that Earthcare sprang into action and contacted the Water District. Then things went much more smoothly. (Bonus points for Angie's List!) When Earthcare did start the work, they finished the entire project in 4 days (!), and at the end of those 4 days, the yard looked great. Part of the contract includes care of the yard for 1 year, so I won't be able to fully comment on the project until the end of October 2011. Then I will be able to write about their landscape care. But our family is extremely pleased with the new look for our yard, and the neighbors have also said good things about the yard

ARREOLA LANDSCAPING
3.0
Pavers were installed with no problems and the majority of things were done OK with the following exceptions: (1) Stucco Island (2) Coloring cement for seating wall and steps leading into the house (3) Sprinkler system and plants (4) Construction of the deck and seating area Carlo had no plans drawn up for the stucco island, he had to use mine. When I wanted him to move an outlet from a horizontal location to a vertical position, just a couple of inches before starting the project, he wanted to charge me extra. The vertical metal seams and stucco along the edge of the island, began separating about a year ago. I sent a certified letter to him informing him of the stucco, didn't hear back from him for over a month. He didn't return my call, his associate however did in time. She told me that they do not guarantee work on stucco or cement, I asked if she could refer someone to me to make the repair two weeks ago. . . haven't gotten a response as of yet. A medium brown color was suppose to have been added to the cement for the seating wall and steps. When they poured the cement, the color we chose simply was not there. When I asked Carlo about it, he said that the color would likely appear as the cement hardened . . . it never did. When I asked him again, he basically blamed it on the company that he purchased the cement from. The sprinkler heads in the sprinkler system were not adequate. They did not cover the area of the lawn and had to be replaced by me. Workers left pencil marks on the trek deck that has never come off, the seating benches are not level
