System Pavers
For context, we hired System Pavers for work on our forever home. We spent about $80,000 on the project. We were not payed or compensated in anyway for this review. Because I've owned my own business for years, I felt compelled to right this review because good service and quality work, which exceeds expectations, deserves to be recognized. Let's be clear, System Pavers competes over quality and service, not price. Chrys Hoffman provided excellent design services. She made extra trips to ensure that we developed a vision that worked for me and my wife. Additionally, when there were scope changes, she made sure to call those out along with any additional charges. She gave us time between sessions to discuss and incubate our thoughts. When the project was completed the only surprises were good ones. System Pavers completed the project at the price we were expecting. System Pavers never nickle-and-dimed us. They were accommodating over any issues that were not adequately defined from the beginning. They also provided helpful suggestions that at times meant extra work for them. For example, on our side gate entrance, they recommend creating a cut-out to keep the garbage cans and allow a clear walkway into the backyard. They didn't even charge extra for that. They also extended our Pavers a few yards beyond the original plan to cover the cement which was demolished to make room trenching gas and electrical into an outdoor kitchen area. Nick Padilla, our project manager, went out of his way to help our dream come true. We had planned a 3-column basalt fountain. I was really attached to using a multi-colored fountain lights kit, embedded in the bore holes of the basalt columns to light up the water at night. However, when the fountain lights arrived, I discovered that the boreholes were about 1/2 inch to small to mount the lights flush with the tops of the columns. Nick had experience with stone masonry. He volunteered to help bore out the column holes an extra half inch at the top to make the fountain lights work. It worked. The fountains look fantastic at night! Nick made it happen for us. I've compared System Pavers' work to the work some of our neighbors completed with small independent contractors. It is easy for anyone to immediately see the difference in quality. Friends that have come to visit have commented on the excellent job System Pavers did with the pavers--friends in the contracting and construction business. One last thing. System Pavers remains focused on their core business, but they understand that completing a project often includes work that is not part of their core business. They referred a general contractor named Mohsen Esfahani who was very experienced and easy to work with. We could tell him what we wanted to do and he would suggest a variety of ways to do it--always starting with the least expensive options. He's pricing was very fair and his work was very good. If you are lucky, you will get Mohsen on your project also. Again, hats-off to Chrys Hoffman, Nick Padilla, Angel, Roberto, Mohsen, and the rest of the guys on the team

He also went above and beyond the scope of original work to be performed, with no extra charge, with smile all along the way. Pavers Express Group
Working with the team at Pavers Express was super easy and we are so pleased with our end product! They helped us come up with a plan for both our front and back yards. We have two little boys and wanted to rearrange our backyard. We worked together to come up with a plan for a new bluestone patio with fire-it (which we use ALL the time!), turf for the kids to play and a place to grow our veggies. We spend so much more time outside now! They also did our entire front yard. We extended our driveway to make it bigger so the car doors don't hit each other. We love the pavers and it instantly elevated the look of our home. They were able to run piping for irrigation and did turf in the front of our home. My favorite part of it all are the blue stone stepping stones up to our front door. we now have a modern house with VERY little maintenance. We are so happy with their work and we love our outdoor space

Job was done flawless and as planned and within budget. Removed my whole backyard; removed a solid retaining wall to add square footage, but added a block retaining wall further back in its place with French drains. Added drains to my leveled yard that he prepped for turf and added 200sf of existing pavers that I had already. NAB construction does beautiful work! When I drive up to our house I can't believe it's the same house. We decided to go with NAB construction because Nader seemed so knowledgeable and confidant during our first meeting. We walked around our property and talked in detail about what we would like to have done. He took notes and soon we had an estimate and an image of our house with a digital rendering of how the property would look after the project was completed. This was a big project and included demolition and complete replacement of the concrete with pavers, pool revision (new tile/coping and walls ) new turf, irrigation, fencing and a pergola. The NAB team was here onsite everyday (Monday-Friday) working hard to get our project completed. It was so exciting to drive up each day and see the progress. The construction crew always cleaned up before they left and the tools and equipment that were left were always neat and tidy. Nader was onsite most mornings and was happy to walk around with me and answer any questions. He was also quick to answer my phone calls. When the project was completed Nader and I did a final walk though. Only after he knew that I was completely satisfied did he send me an invoice for the final payment. There were no change orders along the way or any surprises with the final invoice. The amount on the contract that we signed at the start of the project was the amount that we paid. This was a great experience from start to finish. If I have another project in the future, I won't get any other bids. I will hire NAB construction

We recently embarked on a reasonably complex backyard renovation which would involve multiple projects, contractors, the city (for permitting) and our HOA. We met with more than a dozen contractors with a full range of bids, and received a plethora of ideas on what they thought we should do in the yard. We wanted someone who could help turn what we wanted in the backyard into a reality. Luckily we were fortunate to meet Michael Martinez who is an award-winning Senior Project Design Specialist, Consultant and Project Manager at Black Diamond Paver Stones & Landscape. He was the final contractor that we met and he definitely lived up the saying, “saving the best for last”. Michael called before our appointment and kept us in the loop regarding his arrival time for our initial visit out of consideration for our time. Once we met Michael he immediately felt like a member of our family. He is extremely personable, honest and trustworthy with high morals and ethics. At our first meeting Michael took the time to get to know our family, strived to understand the goals and objectives of what we envisioned in our yard and how he could be a part of the solution to overcome some of the challenges in our backyard. He could see the bigger picture and presented design solutions to mitigate project challenges other contractors may encounter later in the job. Michael gave us a design that fulfilled many of the objectives to support the overall goals for our yard. He did an excellent cost to benefit analysis designing smarter which would allow us to get the best value. Considering the design, materials used, scope of project and Michael’s expertise, his bid was very competitive. He made me feel very comfortable, and I knew that the plan was in good hands. Michael checked in often and wanted to start as soon as we received HOA approval. While waiting to obtain permission from our HOA to begin, Michael met with his job foreman Juan and us several times onsite to walk through the project. He contacted our other contractor to ensure everything would come together at the end of the project. We met with him at a hardscape supplier to review our options. Michael is very familiar with hardscape products which were very valuable considering the scale of the proposed work. Receiving approval on a Friday, Michael and his job foreman Juan swooped in on the following Monday. Michael’s on-site crew was always on time and had an excellent work ethic. They started at 8am and concluded at 5pm daily. During their day, there was minimal downtime. We only noted two 15 minute breaks and 30 minutes for lunch. They minimized impact from heavy machinery and constant loads of materials coming and going from the site by covering where possible front yard landscaping with plywood. At the end of each day, Michael’s team would clean up which my neighbors appreciated. He checked in on site daily to ensure the project was progressing smoothly and to address any project concerns or challenges immediately. If we weren’t home he’d provide updates via phone or text. We never felt out of the loop and didn’t have any surprises due to Michael’s excellent communication skills. When weather didn’t allow for construction to continue, Michael’s crew would arrive and cover the site to minimize downtime. Michael always had our family’s best interests in mind. We really like that Michael handles every aspect of the project. We didn’t have to deal with a separate salesperson, designer, project manager, contractor or subcontractor; he manages it all giving us peace of mind. Having completed the first part of our project I felt compelled to write this review for the excellent five star customer service and end product we received from Michael Martinez at Black Diamond Paver Stones and Landscape, we highly recommend him. Definitely the finished out backyard was as nice as it can be get. There were a few challenges during the process like everything else but glad we overcame those by discussion and talking to experienced construction managers. We went into the nitty gritty of the project like drainage placement, lights separate transformer controls, grading, finish of the paver, plants placement, border, curbing, design, seat wall alignment and the cuts. It was definitely a hectic but very fulfilling experience. Lucas the Project Manager was absolutely spot on. We had some miscommunication during the onset of the project but we resolved our differences and moved along for a beautiful backyard. At the end the finish was amazing and I cannot be happier. He was very attentive and gave all the time needed for the project. Also he called me many times during different phases to ensure I am comfortable with the next step and if there was any difference he would come onsite right away and resolve it. The workers were also very professional and extremely efficient. Would definitely go with SP again and recommend. Yes they are not low on cost but they deliver their services how it is supposed to be and does what makes sense. Also a shout out to Chrys Hoffman who was the design/sales person. She was very detailed and attended to my vision and gave us different perspective for the design which is very important in this sort of project scale. I am happy she supported all throughout and ensured the project was spot on.Thanks so much Chrys for you are the one who showed us the path. Welcome Home Landscape & Lawn Care
It started off great with Ken and his partner in terms of getting an estimate, scheduling the work and implementing the project. They are super knowledgeable and passionate about their work. However, after the project was finished, we immediately needed to pay someone to remove the soil they used and replace it with new top soil as weeds began to grow wildly. This was expensive. It's been less than a year since the project was completed, and we already need some minor painting and repairs to the hardscape they built (e.g. fixing a gate, a fence, etc.), but after a first visit, they refused to do so. They tried to get us to deal with their subcontractor directly who said he wouldn't come to do the repairs as he hadn't been paid by Welcome Home. Welcome Home's response to us? Go hire a handyman, it's not our problem. They also told us their work wasn't under any warranty

We have used Vince's twice in the last 25 years. Both times Vince sat down with us and discussed our lifestyle, including how much time we wanted to spend with maintenance, etc. He asked us about the type of plants, flowers, and trees we liked. He and his team also did our hardscaping, and provided electrical leads so we could add lighting at a later date. We have been very happy with the results over the last 20+ years. The only thing we wish we had done differently was have top soil brought in; we have a lot of clay soil in our area and it caused our plants to grow too slowly
