DESIGNING A HOME CAN BE TRAUMATIC AND THIS WAS THE CASE. THE ARCHITECT DID A GOOD JOB, AND A TIMELY JOB, BUT IN THE END COST MUCH MORE MONEY THAN I ANTICIPATED. THE HOUSE IS SPECTACULAR. TYPICALLY ARCHITECTS COST AROUND 10% FOR SERVICES ALL THE WAY THROUGH CONSTRUCTION AND FINISH SELECTIONS. I STOPPED USING THE ARCHITECT WHEN BUILDING DEPARTMENT APPROVAL WAS OBTAINED BECAUSE OF THE COST INVOLVED

We also had an unexpected health-related delay, which resulted in architect terminating agreement, despite our explanation. As a result, we paid for those services rendered, although not near complete. We would not use this architect's services in the future
