Randy does superb work and is a" jack-of-all-trades" as a contractor. Along with doing repairs on our house for the past 15-years, Randy has done steady work for many of our neighbors. A few months ago, Randy did a magnificent job laying out the concrete for our driveway. More recently, he has painted an office in our home, as well as painting the outside deck. In addition, he added a long wooden railing around the deck. Randy is prompt, courteous, and extremely professional. I would highly recommend him for anyone looking for a seasoned contractor.

Very complicated and intricate build - with many either missing or damaged parts. He and his worker were amazing and accommodated for errors that were not their fault and found fixes to all unforseen issues. Very professional and caring. Randall did an excellent job building our horizontal slat fence. The price of western red cedar had gone up a lot, so we couldn't afford the pre-finished stuff that we initially intended to purchase. Randall planed the rough boards so they looked much smoother. He also had to accommodate a grade change and tree branch growing onto our property. One snafu along the way: the distance between a couple of posts was off, but Randall corrected the problem with a smile. I highly recommend him!

Everything went extremely well! Randy arrived punctually at 9 a.m., and dived right into the work. After doing a superb job with the grouting on the sink, Randy measured the Venetian blinds and toilet seat...and quickly went to a nearby hardware store to pick up the replacement items. After completing the work needed with the blinds and toilet, Randy quickly took care of the leaky pipe. Afterwards, he repainted a section of our living room, where the paint had chipped off the wall. Randy has done work of us and our neighbors throughout the years; and, as always, we found him to be extremely efficient and professional. The total price was $200, which included both labor and materials.

Randy was responsive and communicated by text and visited the house in April. We looked at the project and he promised to get back with a bid. I texted him a reminder that we hoped to get a bid. He texted this back: "I'm getting them. I'm just a little busy to have gotten back with a bid." I replied back that we remained interested and asked him to "get back to us when you have time". We never heard back from him again. He seemed like a nice guy, but contractors waste valuable time when they don't follow up or give you bids - or say they don't think the job is for them. He just went into radio silence, or forgot about us completely.

Randy scheduled this small job immediately because he had a cancellation the next day. He listened carefully initially and consulted later along the way. He knew what he was doing and educated me on the pluses and minuses of different materials and methods. He suggested the idea of replacing the entire gate rather than only the rotted post, and I liked the idea. He and his assistant worked hard, his pricing was reasonable, and I enjoyed getting to know them. Like most others, I plan to call him again, including for small jobs. Thanks, Randy!

Overall, this company did not respond in a TIMELY manner either by email or a phone call. I called a couple of times and one returned my call for a week. In truth, they wrote a couple of emails; they never actually confirmed they were coming out until a couple of hours before they said they would show, I only spoke to R. O'Malley once and specifically asked me to call me with his findings. I waited a couple of hours to hear from him - he did not follow through. I called him and the phone rang several times, until someone answered then immediately hung up. This was my experience, I did not get an estimate and obviously the work was never completed.

I told her I was working a ways away from the area to take a look, and said if I could get by there I would call her and see if they were available. A few days later I called to see if it was ok to take a look after I got off work, around 5. She said yes but don’t disturb her mother,so I went over. I walked the property and had a few questions about what exactly she wanted before I gave her a quote. I did have two other quotes to work on so I didn’t call her right away, but did give her a call a day later. She told me she already hired someone, so I didn’t complete the estimate. I believe I was upfront and quite “timely”.

Randy always followed through with his word, showed up on the day and time that he said he would. When the project was completed there were a few things that didn't come out as I preferred, and he came back on his own time without me having to call him repeatedly, and made the preferred adjustments as soon as he had an opening, which was several hours of work. There aren't very many contractors that would go that extra mile for their customers after the job and payment was completed.

Randy and his team showed up on time, did excellent work within the estimated price, and left all work areas clean and neat. Randy was also very good at finding creative solutions to a couple of tricky problems. I am very impressed with his communication keeping me in the loop on the project status. I highly recommend O'Mally Construction. And I will hire him again for additional projects.

Randy is super competent and a nice guy. He's done two jobs now where he took out bad pieces of wood and cut replacement pieces that fit perfectly. And he told me what could be saved and what needed to be redone on the outside of my bungalows. Fair price and quick. You'll see all the other reviews say the same thing.

Randy was extremely professional and so was his crew. While all the work was done well, the most impressive part was the care that he took to skim coat our entire house. That means that everywhere the had sprayed orange peel texture over the drywall, Randy and Tom and their guys were applying something over it and hand smoothing it. It took several weeks and I would see them in different corners holding up a light to make sure that the surface looked right. That requires a real commitment to getting the job done right. Randy was also easy to contact. He responded promptly and was patient with our learning curve as homeowners. You would be lucky to work with him!

I've gone through a lot of people recently as the person I used to use to do jobs on my rental units moved away. Out of the 4 or so I hired, Randy was easily the best in terms of both quality and price. Just a super nice guy, very considerate, returns calls and emails in a reasonable time frame, confirms times, etc. (If you expect him to return a call in 20 minutes or something, he's not the guy. And I don't want someone who lets their email or cell phone dominate their life. He works on one thing at a time and devotes himself to that task, and then at the end of the day he returns emails and phone calls). I only worked with on projects involving wood, and he left no doubt he understands all the options and will give you his best advice depending on the project. He tailored the options to the fact that this was a rental property and I did not need it to look perfect or like a work of art. So I spent about $1800 over 3 visits, $1200 of which was devoted to one visit in which he replaced every piece of wood on the storage area beneath my patio, including building a door from scratch. It fit very nicely and the whole thing looked great. And then the rest of the money was for two visits to replace pieces of wood on the outside of the bungalow as we get ready to repaint it. He always had a good solution when we ran into a irregular piece of wood that needed replacing.

I had O'Malley Construction Co out to do a critical rafter tail repair on my Craftsman historic home in NELA. All I can say is "Wow!" I could not tell which of the rafter tails was broken after he was done with the job. It was that good. A dumpster truck seriously damaged the rafter tail and broke it in a way that I thought would need a new one and cost me tons. Randy O'Malley did a superb surgical repair and made use of the original wood. This was a cost effective fix and done saving the integrity of the original home. I'm always impressed by Randy's skill and professionalism as well as meeting me on my budget. Thank you again Randy for doing a great job!

I had somebody come out a few months later to do painting. They found that basically the repair just fell apart when they were cleaning up the wood to get it ready for re-painting. So, they had to do the repair all over again. Given the quality of work, I would say the price was about a D. He was responsive. He came right out when I called and showed up when he said he would.

Randall provided a very reasonable estimate, considering the amount of work to fix the deep hole at the base of our deck due to the water damage. Within a few days of the estimate, Randall arranged to initiate the repair. The work was completed within two days and went very smoothly. We were impressed by the quality of the work from Randall and his assistant. Randall even did some additional work (not part of the estimate) to prevent future water damage. We would highly recommend O'Malley Construction and would definitely use them again!

The fence looks beautiful and the old electrical box and patch jobs look great! The guys were punctual every day and careful to clean up at the end of the day. They were pleasant to work with and I will call them back when we have more work to be done. After trying and trying to find handymen or contractors on our own with no luck, we were thrilled to come across O'Malley Construction.

Randy was on time. A very pleasant guy. The drawer glide was a modern addition to a 1913 kitchen drawer and had come loose. Some scrambling, a little modifying and few screws fixed the problem, at least for the time being. The faucet was new and required a fair amount of wiggling to get at the mounting hole behind the sink - something I am no longer willing to do. Tenants were pleased.

Along with arriving exactly on time, Randy brought along his own caulking to match the color of our house. Last winter, we had a leak in our living room, coming from the lower part of our picture window. As El Nino is headed this way, I wanted to get this patched up before the rains arrived. After determining the source of the leak, Randy went right to work. He used caulking to seal up the leak, and then sanded down the window sill. Afterwards, he painted the sill. Before leaving, Randy cleaned cleaned everything up immaculately. As my neighbors would agree, Randy is very professional, responsible, and well-versed in repairing just about anything an older house (*our's was built in 1933) might need done.
