"Had a water heater go back and they determined that it was probably still under Kenmore parts warranty (since only 2 yrs old) so recommended I first call they to see (and it was where I got a free replacement through Kenmore) rather than have them do anything, so I greatly appreciated that. "<p>This review is for work performed for my mother. She has used Mr. Rooter a couple of times, as they are always the first plumber to respond if she has an issue. She told me the previous repairs seemed well done but were pretty expensive - when she told me they charged her $1600 to replace a 40 gallon gas water heater, I almost fell over!!! Talk about taking advantage of the elderly. The water heater they installed is $289 retail at a local plumbing supply house. The water heater is easily accessed on her outside back porch and all they had to do is disconnect, reconnect and haul away the old heater. </p>
<p>They are polite, prompt and neat, but don't let that lull you into trusting that they are giving you a good price. There is a deal for this same job from an A rated plumber on Angie's List right now for $549.</p>

"There was a large, 7-person spa on the side of the house when we moved in 20 years ago. The spa was installed with a large wooden pagoda. It was time for the whole thing to go. Unfortunately, there is a wall around the yard, so the job is not as straightforward as it might seem.
<br /> I sought many estimates, as well as suggestions as to how to remove the spa. Most contractors suggested that they would destroy the spa and then remove it, along with the pagoda, in parts. I worried about that because the spa is made of fiberglass, and it is next to an air conditioning condenser unit. I feared fiberglass fibers flying about.
