I can see the advice could have been good, but not strictly helpful at the time. I did not really understand what an interior decorator does, but i do now, so that was useful. I might hire them again when/if I need specific advice on window coverings, art selection, or painting colors

Janice really knows how to make a home look and function amazing. She planned the layout for an addition for us. She was so good at planning a layout that functioned well and made great use of our space flowing from the old part of the home to the new. But what really impressed me was knowing that we were going to be living there, her layout functioned well while construction was actually going on, too. She did point this out during the planning stage as well as the addition bringing increased resale value. I didn't fully comprehend that meaning until we actually lived through the construction and she was so right about her layout containing everything to one area. She also did window treatments, an entertainment unit, and space planning for us. Her expertise and experience on living in a space was so spot on after construction, too. She made everything look so beautiful but also still functional. She really knows the scale of furniture to be in a space as well as placement and using furniture we already had

Michael Merrill Design Studio
We hired Michael to help remodel and decorate several rooms in our home. He is experienced and has good taste and good ideas. He is a great designer and decorator and we are happy with the look of our place, but he is inefficient and a terrible project manager. Our project took a year longer than estimated, was way more expensive than estimated and we had serious concerns over how inefficient MMDS was. In short, it was exhausting to deal with and we were always concerned that if we didn't stay on top of MM we would see astronomical bills for all kinds of inefficient time and effort. Michael tends to push expensive solutions, but when challenged he can come up with more economical solutions. In short, unless you want to spend big $$$$ for high end design and spend massive time managing -I don't recommend MMDS

They're stellar! Paul, the store manager, is incredibly accessible. I like people who are accessible. Every employee there is a shadow of their leader, at every level of employment. It would feel odd for someone to walk by without greeting you and wishing you a good day or offering to help with anything. If they don't have an answer, they'll find someone who does. It's really rare to find such a great group of people in the customer service industry. Not only that, but I LOVE how often they send out 20% off coupons! They even honor them after they expire! They have an excellent customer loyalty program, and they're very forward-thinking design-wise, especially when it comes to college students

She was very professional and helped us a lot in putting together an overall game plan for decorating our great room and bedroom.
