i was contacted by Vince's landscaping and given a reasonable estimate to clear the weeds from a rock bed of approximately 80 ft by 3 ft. The light shield under the river rock had deteriorated and allowed large stalks of weeds growing up to 5 ft high. Vince's sent a crew of three guys who worked all day 8 to 5pm to remove the weeds and take all the rocks out of the river bed. Then they laid down a fresh weed barrier and covered it with the removed rocks. They also filled in some gaps with additional river rock. I could not have done this myself. JAC construction was fantastic to work with from obtaining a quote to the final product. In our case, we purchased an investment property and needed help turning the outside of the property into easily manageable landscaping. JAC Construction turned the front lawn and side yard from patchy grass to a clean river rock yard. They used landscape fabric underneath, ensured to take off enough soil so that gravel won’t spill on the road. In addition they also pruned the backyard, weed-whacked and cut down overgrown blackberry bushes. Everything was hauled away. They brought the right tools and machines. Jose was very prompt in responding to my emails / texts. Everyday when he comes to work, he will text me that he started work. He communicated well in English and his work has been very good. We relaid the entire backyard (1000sq ft) with new grass after digging up existing old grass, tilling the soil, rolling up evenly, adding more new soil, rolling up again followed by laying new grass. He also helped fix the sprinklers that were broken. He took care of a patch in the front yard. He removed unwanted plants in the front yard near the door and replaced them with nice rose bushes. The cost was very nominal and he did a satisfactory job for us. He accommodated a lot of smaller things that I had in mind too.. We ordered rocks from U-Save Rockery for projects we wanted to complete this summer. We ordered large river rock, and flagstone. We had them deliver to us for a fee. Very well. Our project included pavers to make a backyard patio, which is absolutely beautiful and ready for summer parties now. We also had another area transformed by large custom pavers and rocks. Nick usually works in the Sacramento area. I totally overlooked that fact when contacting him and when I found out told him I'd find someone else but he explained to me that he was through with previous jobs and would be happy to come down and work in the Bay Area. Nick came by on a Monday and looked at what the job entailed. He than went to pick up all materials and returned the next day to begin the job. The job looked amazing when completed! We live in a 60 year old home that was in need of a facelift and thats exactly what the rock provided! Many neighbors have commented on it and said how drastically it changed the look of the house for the better. The job was expertly done and in a timely fashion. Once they started, they were on the job every day all day to its conclusion. When there were problems ( e.g., the second palate of brick did not match the first), Tobias was very cool and was able to get a palate that was a better match. He was extremely easy to work with and always composed and smiling. His employees were equally good to work with and excellent craftsmen. System Pavers and Project Manager, Lucas Fitch, did a terrific job in rebuilding my retain wall in my backyard above our deck and across the length of the property. During the excavation part, they ran into numerous unknown problems behind the old wall, namely stone and rocks, as well as huge tree roots that had to be removed. Lucas along with his engineering staff came up with an excellent plan to take care of these issues while minimizing the cost for me. At the finish, everything looked perfect. Everything they did was great although the weather delayed the finish product for a few weeks. it looks great, using drip lines, decorative rock and bark. Sione's Concrete and Pavers were recommended to us by our General contractor doing a remodel of our home. We were undecided whether to do concrete or pavers for our driveway, which was in need of replacement. We got bids from 3 companies including Sione's, which turned out to be the most competitive. Beyond the price we found Sione to be friendly, professional and very helpful during the entire project. He met with us one day to go over things in order to provide the estimate. He listened to our concerns and ideas and offered a few of his own. He gave us a quote for concrete and one for pavers. Sione recommended we go see his work at some of the jobs his company had completed. We met with him several times before the work began to go over the details. He was patient with us and never forced us one way or the other into making a particular decision. He gave us the pros and cons of each and told us where we could go to select materials and a layout for the paver system. We decided to go with the pavers even though the cost was more. We scheduled a start date several weeks out and on the scheduled morning, on time, his team arrived to begin demolition of the old concrete driveway, which took several days as it was quite a large job. The team was professional and had good safety practices. As they went along, they explained to me each step and kept me posted on progress. They took out the concrete driveway, removed several inches of dirt and graded the driveway in preparation for the new materials. During demolition, it was discovered there were 12-16 concrete piers, each about 42" deep with re-bar, buried under the old walkway. These had to either be removed or jack-hammered down to a smaller size since so much dirt surrounding them was being taken out. There was no extra charge for this work. When demolition was completed it came time to start the pavers. Sione came to the house and went over the design of what we wanted and laid it out, outlining it on the ground with spray paint. Crushed gravel, then sand was delivered, graded and compacted. The pavers arrived on pallets from the distributor and were placed at the end of the driveway. We were excited to see the work progress and the stones being placed. The team that installed the pavers were great. Each man knew his job and they worked together, cutting and putting each stone in place. When we discovered that the front porch step was too high, "hey, no problem", they took it out and made a two step porch for easier entry. The crew asked if they could work on Saturdays and even wanted to work Thanksgiving morning to complete the job. It did take a few more days than anticipated because of rain, but it was worth it. Neighbors walk by, and unsolicited, tell us how marvelous the driveway now looks.
