I called on Sunday night and left a message. He called back on Monday morning, we made an appointment in the afternoon, he came at the appointed time, he said he thought he knew the source of the water and had to dissasemble the freezer compartment. He had to unload the freezer and had to take the shelves out in order to get to the defrosting unit behind the freezer compartment. He confirmed the problem by pouring water into the defrosting tray and watched in drain into the freezer unit. He repositioned the tray, punched holes in the tray and reassembled the unit. He put the shelves back in and reloaded the freezer and cleaned up. It took a lot of labor, but he had the right tools and effieciently got the job done

Our freezer was randomly defrosting which caused water to leak and refreeze. Everything in the freezer had a layer of frost and there were big chunks of ice forming on the bottom of the freezer. I called General Refrigeration and Gary was at my house in about an hour. He quickly assessed the problem and decided to replace the motherboard which he thought would fix the problem. He had the part on his truck and was done replacing it in about 30 minutes. Unfortunately, over the next couple of days, the problem returned. I called Gary again and he was back at my house within the hour. He took a look and found that it was an odd problem he couldn't fix. Our freezer (a GE) required service from GE itself. Since the new motherboard he installed didn't fix the problem, Gary gave me a refund. The really amazing part is that he gave me a FULL refund. He not only refunded the price of the part, but also the price of his service fee for even coming out to my house. He said he prided himself on doing good work and doing the right thing and I found that really remarkable. I would not hesitate to use Gary again or recommend his services to others

Metro Appliance Repair
Our Whirlpool bottom-freezer refrigerator was collecting ice in the floor of the freezer and eventually dripping water on the kitchen floor. Made an appointment with Metro on Wednesday for Friday afternoon. Igor arrived on time and quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem. He showed us the original Whirlpool part (which, he said, fails a lot of the time) and replaced it with a hose. He de-iced the freezer and made sure everything was working properly before he left. I would recommend Metro for any refrigerator repair and plan to use them for any other appliance repair in the future

He saved me a ton of money by telling me my problem was very simple, then explained how it was only a matter of resetting the temperature control in the deep freezer compartment, which had accidentally gotten lowered getting food in and out of the freezer. I didn't realize that it was the controller in the freezer that was the main control. If he had not been so honest he could have charged me a lot more than the basic service call charge). Our frig has the freezer at the bottom. Frost developed in the freezer and we thought something went wrong with the defrost. The tech came out and took a look. He said that he didn't think it was the defrost. He noticed that the freezer door was slightly off track which was letting air in which caused the frost to develop. He took the freezer door off, cleaned up all the frost and put the door on again making sure that it was on the track. We must have accidentally knocked it off track. He then showed us how to best set the thermostat. The tech (I think he went by Al) was very professional and friendly. He was also careful to limit any mess and clean up after he was done. He could have sold us on an unnecessary fix but didn't. He only charged us for the call and a small amount for labor. It's been a couple of weeks and the freezer is clear of frost. We were very happy with how it all worked out and we'd use this company again
