Went smooth and quick.

He was here over 2 hours. I do not know who else would have figured it out! I was thrilled to have someone come in and know how to fix it. I have a problem I want to fix in the future and he took a look at it, gave me some advice and told me how he could help me in the future. I appreciated it.

I bought a new house and wanted to have the whole house painted and upgraded for electrical. I hired Bob to do the job. I was not familiar with all the materials so I asked Bob to buy them for me and I paid for his time. He suggested to buy flat emamel paint and helped to choose the color for each room. The entire purchasing process went quite smooth and fairly quick. It would have costed me much more time to just buy the stuffs. Bob was an excellent painter. He started from the ceiling and worked his way down to the baseboard. He was very good with his hands and he didn’t even use painters’ tapes. He did standard coats and he was still quick. After the fresh paint the entire house looked so pretty. He also replaced all the plugs and switches for the house, fixed some wrongly wired three way switches. He cleaned up some messy wires. In addition, he installed some new kitchen lights and new ceiling fans in the family room and bedroom. At one point when he was running wire for a new GFCI in the bathroom he had to crawled into very tiny attic. He was very dedicated to his work and cared the quality. He was extremely good with what he was doing no matter it is just replacing a simple switch, fishing wire or figuring out what went wrong with wiring. These had to do with the fact that he used to work for a big electrical company for many years. I loved the light fixtures he advised to buy. They added much more beauty and conveniences to different rooms. He is a very smart handyman. He planed work in his head like a general contractor so that one followed another very well and time was wisely spent. His excellent coordination saved a lot money. I wrote these in many details since I was with him majority of the time. I was a novice on home improvements and I wanted to learn from him and he did teach me a lot on how to paint. He said at the very beginning that paints and lightings add a lot of beauties to a room. And he is right. After all was done, the entire house looked very pretty and I couldn't be happier.

We are going to buy a new house and sell current house. There are some small repairs that we want to get done before putting it on the market such as new GFIs, patching ceiling, replacing very old locks, and repair some vinyl floor in the bath. We wanted them done ASAP. We called Bob and told him about the work. He said he had been booked for the next month. But since these are small jobs and we are close to where he lives, he can come and work on weekends if we don t mind. We love that he can come on weekends since we don t need to take time off from work. (We both work and have two children and have been taking frequent time off due to their being sick.) He even said he wouldn t charge us more for coming after hours. He called us before he came. The first time he looked at our problems and told us what he can fix. He was very honest. He told us he would take care of most of them. He told us how he was going to repair our vinyl floor in the bath due to some stain left from previous work, and he needed a repair kit from store. He didn t think we need to repair it and it wouldn t hurt us selling the house. He started by replacing our old locks. Our doors are covered by metal sheet so it s very tough to work with. He worked hard and patiently, and got them done very well. He then replaced a failed GFI in the bath with the parts he carried in his van. He also checked our other plugs in another bath and kitchen and told us that we should have GFIs in bath and around kitchen sink, otherwise they would be picked up by inspector. He also told us that by new building code, all plugs in the eating area next to kitchen should be protected by kitchen s GFI. He wrote down the parts we need to buy and told us to call him when we had them. During his second visit, he patched our ceiling, replaced GFIs for another bath and kitchen, checked everything to make sure they worked fine and other plugs are protected the way they should be. There are some parts that the store staff didn t pick right for me. He drove me to the closed store and got right ones. There are on jumbo plate that the store didn t carry. Bob gave me another electrical store and told me to check with them. He even called me later and said if I still can t find the part, he can offer another alternative. I can t say enough about Bob. He took care of our problems as if his own. He did exactly what he promised in his flyer: have you taken care of without leaving you broke. He offered flat rate pricing (by hour), not by job. It s so simple and straightforward and not often seen from others. He is honest and trustworthy. I am a somewhat handy man and I have done some small jobs for our own house, and I like to watch and learn from other professionals. Bob has never hesitated to answer my questions and explain to me why he did this and that. He even taught me some of his tricks. We have booked him for some other jobs for our new house. I would definitely recommend him to my friends and co-workers.
