Larry's Lock Safe & Security Center Inc
Overall it went okay. However, I was extremely disappointed by the price. I had used Larry's Lock...5 years ago to replace all the locks in my house (two different locks), and a couple of door knobs and to install a garage door opener keypad. The entire job was about $350. The service person was excellent, spent several hours with me, and explained everything. I was very pleased. Therefore, I did not hesitate to call them again to replace the keypad when it stopped working a few weeks ago. I checked Angie's list again and found no complaints that would have prevented me from using them a second time. Upon calling, I asked about getting the keypad replaced, said I got my first one with them 5 years before, and made an appointment. The part was the same $65 that it was 5 years ago, however the labor and time was almost 2x the cost of the part. He was only here for just under 30 minutes. If not for the Angie's LIst coupon, I would have paid $160 for this work. I think this is excessive. In addition, when removing the original keypad, he cut into the wood of the garage door, leaving a nice cut about 2 inches long. While this isn't a huge issue, it seems a little careless. I supposed this is my fault since I did not ask how much a trip charge would be, however, it would have been nice if the person I spoke with on the phone would have mentioned it since I was a return customer and the visit would have been almost 2/3 the total cost! I will not use this company again if I have a better choice. Shortly after my posting on Angie's List, I received a call from the owner, Ken. He was very concerned about the posting and wanted to 1) understand my experience and 2) see what he could to make it right. He and I played phone tag for over a month. When we eventually spoke, he explained to me why the charge was high in my estimation and offered to refund my money. While I did not want to get paid back, we did agree that I would receive a discount when I purchase a safe from him later this year. I was extremely impressed by his concern of my less than perfect experience, his follow through in reaching me and his desire to rectify the situation to make sure I would use Larry's again in the future. The install crew was great, they worked for 2 days to install all of motion sensors and keypads to have a properly working alarm system. Our alarm has never been need, thankfully, but we've had many false alarms! The operators always respond quickly with a phone call & are very curteous.

We called our salesperson for Guardian because a friend knew him. He came to the house and gave us an assessment of what we needed. We felt the price was good and signed the contract. When we signed the contract, we told the salesman we wanted him to stop by to make sure the special needs were taken care of. The installer arrived and tried to get a hold of the salesperson because he had questions and needed some paperwork that the salesperson had not provided. We also called and left messages for the salesperson. He never showed up or called us back. We found out from the installer that the salesman did this as a side job and had another full time job with another company. Luckily, we had a great installer. He did a good job of installing our system. We had just restored our house so we did not want the walls torn up. The installer was very careful and did not damage anything. The service is great. I would not work with our salesman again. The customer service is excellent

After the installation appointment was made, the installer showed up on time, cleaned up after the job and generally did a good job. However, we had to spend the first hour plus talking about placement of sensors and smoke alarms as he had nothing but an order form. I expected him to have detailed specs and since it took several weeks to get the system installed - they lost my phone number, I wasn't totally clear on some of the specifics. It ended up costing more than the estimate due to poor communication and a change on my part. The whole experience was average at best as there seems to have been little communication or attention to detail from the salesman. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of choices in alarm companies so it appears that as consumers average is all we can expect and as such I'd probably end up hiring Dial One again

I originally contacted the company through email, and Ron responded very quickly. He answered several questions, then I had him come over to see my current system and give me a price to convert it to a cellular system with smartphone access. I plan to cancel my landline so I needed a security system that doesn't use the phone line. He answered all my questions, and was the most reasonably priced of the 4 companies I contacted. I signed the contract on Friday, and he was able to install the new system the following Monday. It took about 2 hours for the installation, and he made sure I knew how to use the system before he left. He was able to use my existing motion detectors and door sensors, and reprogrammed my 2 key fobs. He installed a new keypad and alarm panel. I also mentioned Angie's List, and got 3 free months of monitoring. This company bills in 6 or 12 month cycles, not monthly. The cost quoted above includes the installation, new keypad and alarm panel, and 6 months of monitoring. I was very happy with how the process went, and Ron was very patient with all my questions. I definitely recommend ProAlert

Tech showed up on time, gave me great advice on how to reduce 9 different keys to just 2, and even gave his personal recommendation on keypad locks (go with schlage!) for future reference. Great. Something broke in the latch mechanism of our front door lock. We could turn the handle but it would not move the latch, so the door was stuck in the locked position. I pretty much destroyed the lock but could not open the door. Eric was able to come the same day I called. He sawed out the latch, to open the door. He then installed a new lockset I had already purchased beforehand. Great and timely job. Thanks

He was polite and professional. The lock we had chosen didn't fit our door, so the guy told me what lock he would recommend. He was very helpful and I appreciated that he took the time to explain to me what lock I should use and why. The following week the lock had come in, he came back and installed it without any issues. Very happy with service and will definitely use them again

Instead of rebalancing door or repairing it they replaced parts. They do a 25 point assessment but only give your report after service is complete. They put you in a tough spot with large estimates or no work but a $80 service call. Based on this approach, I would not recommend.

It's working out fine. I had some problem with it to begin with. When they sent the pieces to me they had already batteries on them. I had to two keypad batteries and one keypad died within a few days when I set it up. The other keypad batteries died the following week but they did send me some new batteries to replace batteries. Anyhow, I had no problem with it
