Pittsburgh Wall Repair

After two years, and many promises, the walls are still now fixed. Walls are u even. Steps are uneven. There is no drainage so my land is a soupy mess. He was to grade and plant grass on my hillside but it is so steep that I can’t push a lawnmower up or across it. Grass does not grow, only weeds because it is full of rocks.

First I must say that there was an issue with my neighbors plants that were growing against the brick wall where the work was to be done. He, Paul, gave my neighbor an opportunity to move the plants out of the way. The owner Paul and his employee arrived at my house and after introducing themselves, they got to work. When I arrived home from work in the afternoon, I had a newly repaired wall. Additionally, if I hadn't seen them that morning I would not have known they were there. The area was completely cleaned up. The wall which was in a state of disrepair looked great. He returned the next day to point the house. Again, they are true professionals. They did a great job. I'm going over my place with a fine tooth comb in hopes that I find something else for him to do. It was by far one of the better experiences I've had with a company.

Last month, my wife and I suddenly discovered that the wall-to-wall carpeting in our downstairs finished game room was damp. I immediately checked Angie's List and contacted a local waterproofing firm about the problem. A gentleman came out and looked at our game room, then suggested that I check with our builder to see if he had any idea as to the source of the water. I called Mike Ricciuti, hoping for maybe a five-minute conversation on the phone. After all, it had been seventeen years since he'd built our place. Instead of just a brief conversation, however, Michael immediately became very involved, coming out to the house the next morning. He had his plumber come out, too, and they were able to discover that the water was coming from a drain problem. When I told Michael that our insurance company had indicated that this might not be covered, he told me to call and arrange for a claims adjuster to come out. When the adjuster arrived, Michael was there, too, and after he explained the situation to the adjuster, the man said we would be covered after all. That was just the beginning of what Michael did for us. That first day, he called Service Master and arranged for them to be at our house within two hours, pulling up the carpeting and setting up huge fans and a giant dehumidifier. Over the next couple of weeks, Michael personally arranged for all the work listed above to be done, and he kept in very close touch with my wife and me, coming out to our house several times to follow up on everything that was being done. Oh, and he also handled all the paperwork for us. I cannot say enough about Michael. He basically took this on as a project, his only goal being to make our home whole again. One other comment: several of the people who worked on this for Michael were the same people who'd helped build our house seventeen years ago. I think that says a lot about the way Michael treats his employees and the loyalty he obviously inspires in them. I would urge anyone thinking about building or remodeling a home to seriously consider contacting Mike Ricciuti. He is definitely someone who will be there for you over the long haul, in addition to being just a good all-around guy.

If you're looking for any sort of patio or retaining wall - do yourself a favor and hire Wall King. These guys were absolutely awesome! If you want more details, continue reading. I contacted them late last summer as I first got the idea to complete this project, but wasn't sure what all entailed. I chose Wall King because of the meticulous detail they put into planning the backyard wall and patio. The level of detail and care they put into the plan was very impressive. I agreed in late fall to go through with the plan in the fall with the idea they'd start this spring and that's exactly what happened. The communication was great and they let me know ahead of time when they could put me in their schedule, once the spring weather calmed down. The week before they started, they came out to go over the project again, which was nice. Once they started the project, it was discovered the drainage system for my downspouts was basically nonexistent (some lines going uphill to nowhere, another just emptying into my neighbor's yard). That brought the project to a halt because I had to bring in a plumber to have all the downspouts correctly tied in and then drained properly. I felt horrible because that threw Wall King's schedule off a week or so while that problem was remedied. Wall King was great, though, and adjusted their schedule to accommodate for this major issue. When the plumbing issue was fixed, Wall King came back and finished the project. The wall was built and then a concrete crew came in to pour the patio and then Wall King came back to finish it all off. Once they were done, they leveled the side yard that had taken a beating from all the heavy machinery and then put down seed and straw. The wall and patio exceeded my expectations! Bill and his crew were awesome to work with and there was no nonsense or anything. These guys came in, kicked a$$ and got it done all while being pretty cool. They took a basically useless and troublesome space in my backyard and turned it into a huge asset. I can't imagine how much value this added to my house. I want to thank Bill and the guys for working with me, especially the unexpected delay to get the plumbing issue fixed. It was just an awesome, hassle-free experience.

I am very happy with the service Wall King provided. The day I first called and left a message for an initial estimate to replace our wall, my call was returned within 10 minutes. Bill came out the same day and gave his estimate. Bill was very friendly, and his price was the best of all the estimates I had received. I was told the work would take 2 days to complete. Wall King arrived promptly on the date I was told work would begin. Demolition of the old wall was done this day, and all debris was hauled away. The next day a team of workers arrived at 8am and began working immediately. The new retaining wall was completed by 1pm. Excellent work, and the wall looks great! I will be using Wall King again when it's time for our remaining wall to be replaced.

Our retaining wall, steps and sidewalk turned out beautifully. We had the original concrete block wall and sidewalk replaced. Our new wall and walkway look amazing. Bob Henderson, the owner, was meticulous in building the wall, steps and sidewalk with attention to detail and was always open and straightforward in communicating with us about start dates and any other concerns that we had. We would highly recommend him to anyone that is looking to have a retaining wall, steps or walkway replaced or built.

Took down our previous wall and rebuilt a beautiful versa-lok wall in its place. Very affordable and great to work with.

Brought P&M in to replace 2 retaining walls (one much more difficult than the other). Tony insisted it be done on 2 separate contracts. I should have known at that point that there was going to be a problem. We wanted the harder wall done first but Tony said he could get the material for the easier wall faster, so we signed a contract for that retaining wall and they did it first. They ran into a problem that they should have expected, being experienced retaining wall builders and all, that Tony said would add cost to the project. We ended up paying way more for this wall than we should have. When finished with the 1st retaining wall we asked when they would start the 2nd retaining wall, the hard one. Tony said soon. After that he refused to take our phone calls and we have never heard from him again. We then got bids from 3 other contractors for the harder retaining wall. When they came to look over the job they all looked at the wall P&M built and said the construction was inferior and they hoped it would hold up for us.

The existing wall at the top of the driveway was no longer holding back the hillside going into the back yard. Contractor took out existing wall, dug out part of the hillside, and installed a proper wall and stairs. They were very friendly and professional from start to finish. They did an excellent job.

Brett and his crew did a fantastic job on a retaining wall project that I had done at my house. His crew ripped out the old wall and replaced with versa-lok. Brett and his crew were very professional and completed the project in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend Brett for a retaining wall.

We met with both John and Amanda. When John started removing our old fence he noticed that our wood retaining wall was rotting from the inside out so we had him replace the wall with cement blocks and a french drain. He did a wonderful job on both the fence and the wall.

I have hired this company twice to build retaining walls at my rental properties. His work is amazing, everyone comments are how nice they are. He goes over and above on every job. The landscaping and area around the wall look better than when he showed up. I would highly recommend him for all your retaining wall needs. They are absolutely beautiful.

Ron and his crew showed up to my house and started working promptly at 7am, immediately getting to work on the driveway retaining wall. The old one was falling apart from water damage. They rebuilt the wall beautifully and took care to address the drainage issue so that the new wall lasts much longer. They also moved a doorway in our basement about two feet to the right in a block wall to allow us to build a laundry closet. Our contractor was able to easily frame around the new wall. Extremely courteous crew, friendly and they cleaned up very well when they were finished. Couldn't be happier.

It went well. They removed an old, rusty shed and took it to recycling. They cut down a weed tree. The railroad tie wall was crumbling and in bad shape. Now there is a beautiful block wall with a cap that will last many decades. The wall looks very clean and neat. I love it and can't wait to start planting in the spring. They did a nice job of cleaning up afterwards. I love my new wall!
