Andres was professional and did excellent, high quality work at a reasonable price. Andres was also happy to assist with aspects of the work that were technically outside of his scope but needed to get done. We wouldn't hesitate to use him again or to recommend him.

I had a downdraft gas cook top that did not work well for us, and we wanted a range hood instead. It was tricky because of our existing cabinet above the cook top. Jose had to take out part of our kitchen cabinet, redesign and build the range hood‘s cabinet for our range hood insert. His cabinet matched with our existing cabinets. Jose’s craftsmanship was excellent. Not only that, he was very punctual. If the appoint was 8:00am you will see Jose at your door at 8:00am. He is very helpful and professional. It was a pleasure working with Jose. I will use him again without hesitation

I wasted two days waiting for this company's representative. He no-showed at the first scheduled time, with a questionable excuse about his truck being broken down. Then when he did show up, he claimed he had no idea what we were talking about because he didn't do kitchen work, he didn't even do his own kitchen work. So he could just take some pictures and talk to somebody at his office and the shoot us a price, which would start at a minimum of $800. Nope. I understand that sometimes things go wrong, but this waste of my time (twice) is unacceptable

Renovative did a fantastic job with the vent hood installation. The crew were extra careful, mounting the new vent hood to studs in the wall for added security as well as making sure that the electrical connections were up to code. They cleaned up afterward and actually came in *under* the quoted cost. I will definitely be calling on Renovative again

Affordable Remodeling by John

Kitchen was a full remodel. John facilitated custom cabinets and handled the paint and install. Full wall subway tiles, changed the layout and installed the sink, faucet, all appliances including new range hood. John also handled all of the Sheetrock work which involved moving several light fixtures and installed ceiling pot lighting. Converted us to gas cooktop. John has excellent tile skills. Always keeps the worksite neat and clean and finishes on time

AIS Stone & Marble Inc

JT and his crew did an outstanding job start to finish. He made the job of selecting the specific granite and tiles easy and provided good advice on harmonizing the colors with our existing decor. The job started and finished on the days requested. His crew was highly professional. The granite team removed the old countertops and backsplash in the morning and installed the granite the same afternoon. They did some difficult on-site cuts ensuring each piece fitted exactly as planned. They also kept the dust to a minimum and did a thorough clean-up at the end of the day. Day two, his plumber installed the range top and the new sink/disposal. Day three, his electrician installed five under-counter lights that added a dramatic effect to the kitchen. And on day four, his tile team installed the backsplash. JT came each day to inspect the progress, and after his final inspection, he sealed the granite. We are very happy with the the final product, and we plan on using AIS again in installing tile flooring in our kitchen and breakfast area

Father And Sons Remodeling
5.0
We are very happy with our new kitchen and with Father and Son Remodeling. There were 4 crews that worked consecutively; carpentry and installation, painting, countertop, and tiling/plumbing/finish. With one exception I was impressed with the workmanship. We had initial issues with the countertop, but they were resolved (see below). The carpentry was excellent. Although each appliance required changes in the custom cabinets, it all appears as though the cabinets were built around the appliances. During the job, we found the new microwave required 2 inches more depth. Since the wall behind the cabinet was load bearing it was not easily modified. With our agreement, they initially added trim around the microwave, but we decided it would look better if the entire cabinet was brought forward 3 inches. We agreed on a price and two days later you couldn't tell that 3 inches were added to the depth except by measuring. This is a complex, stylized, custom cabinet with rounded corners and special trim, but they took it apart nail by nail and put it back together without a seam. The exterior cabinets were spray painted and the preparation and precautions taken to ensure no overspray on other items was excellent. The ceiling was also touched up due to the change in lighting and the texture and touch-up were matched well to the original. We did some of the work that was included in the original estimate (plumbing and dishwasher installation) and recognizing this Father and Son 'traded' us even for the carpentry work done for most of the new appliances. There were issues with the countertops. These were resolved satisfactorily. In the end, we asked that the original 'counterman' not be used and Father and Son agreed. -In one case, a counter that should have been one piece had a 10" piece epoxyed at one end. Father and Son also noticed this and said they already planned to replace with a single piece - no additional cost. -In one of the undermount sinks, the hole was cut using the overmount template and left an unsightly ring of a half inch. We agreed to pay for half of the material to replace the countertop and correct the size of the cutout. -We found that the sinks had not been properly attached and supported to the countertop. This was corrected

Granite Surfaces of Texas

At first I called this company just for granite counters but after thinking about it, my wife and I deciding we really needed a kitchen make over. Wade, the company owner agreed to be the general contractor and organize plumbing, electrical, paint and all other necessary contractor activities. He only does one kitchen at a time so he can remain involved in each step of the process. It was about as painless as any kitchen remodel could be but any remodel of this extent is a trying experience. We kept thinking of new things we wanted to add during the construction and Wade was receptive and flexible and never complained. He went above and beyond on several aspects like getting a backsplash tile that looked just right and getting appliances moved in and out of the kitchen. Any kitchen can be an expensive proposition and Wade let us pay the cost out as progress payments as construction progressed. We made payments to the plumber, painter and flooring contractors separately. We are still finishing up a few minor things but the kitchen looks great and is much more useful than before. I'm looking forward to Spring when I'm going to remodel the master bath of our home

We had many problems from the beginning, including getting a proper estimate of cost and time. The technician who initially provided a quote became unavailable without further contact. The office sent another technician who had to re-work the quote, which ended up being higher than the original one. After some back and forth, we decided to proceed with the work. We bought the main equipment ourselves after seeing their pricing was higher for the same items. On the first day, the technicians came out and realized they didn’t have all of the supplies for the job. They blamed this on miscommunication between them and their manager. They made several trips to Lowe’s to collect the necessary supplies, even purchasing incorrect sizing and color for a few items. Of course, we will billed several hours for this. They encountered problems with every step, some that couldn’t be anticipated but others they should have been aware of by doing simple checks prior to beginning the work. For example, while running’s the electrical work for the ceiling fan, they realizes that the 2x4s ran horizontally rather than vertically, requiring them to cut a few extra pieces of Sheetrock. They assumed the wood ran vertically based on the age of the house rather than doing a quick check with a stud finder. After realizing it was taking significantly longer than they anticipated, we called their manager to express concern regarding the labor costs we would be billed for since they were going over the estimated hours to complete the work. He came out to the house to see for himself and assured us that we wouldn’t be billed more than the revised quote. As the second day progressed, we asked when they would secure the upstairs floor boards. Since the technicians had already mentioned that they were moving on to a big remodel job on Monday, we figured they would end up working over the weekend to finish the work. When they started packing up after finishing the hood, ceiling fan and recessed lights, we asked about the floor and they proceeded to tell us that they will not do the work because the floor board spacing was too far apart for them to get rid of the squeak. This came as a surprise to us since they didn’t hesitate in communicating the hurdles with each step but they kept this information to themselves until we asked. If the floor board spacing was a problem, it should have been communicated from day one when we asked for a quote. However, when we raised this concern with the manager, he gave us a different explanation for not completing the work. Ultimately, we believe they didn’t complete the work because they needed to move on to a larger assignment. We have also called them about the ceiling fan since it makes a lot of noise when it is on. They dismissed the concern and did not come back out to even check the problem. We also had issues with the final billing, which was higher than the quote even though not all of the work was completed. We hired this company for honest, trustworthy advise and reliable work. Unfortunately, they proved to us with these small projects that they are not a reliable contractor

Walker Home Improvements

I wanted to install a kitchen exhaust vent for an over-the-range (OTR) microwave oven. Space in my kitchen is limited so a range hood was not an option. I had to work with my existing OTR microwave configuration which made the best possible use of the existing kitchen space. The blower in my microwave oven was currently operating in recirculate mode - meaning nasty fry odors from the stove were just being blown back into the kitchen. You could tell what was cooking from the second floor! Fortunately, the microwave oven is attached to an outside wall - which made it feasible to install the ducting necessary for an exhaust vent to the outside. After seeking some quotes I decided to go with Walker Home Improvement for the project. With advice from Robert Walker, I bought duct parts (6" round) and an exhaust vent cover (with critter guard) from Home Depot. I had even bought an exhaust vent adapter for my GE microwave ([*** Link removed ***] ahead of time (in case it was needed). Installation was tricky due to unanticipated obstacles - there was gas pipe hidden in the wall that the duct had to go around, and an electrical outlet abutted the transition from microwave to duct. The shortest path to the outside was a horizontal route which I wanted to avoid because it would require making a hole in brick veneer. So the duct first went vertically up into the ceiling crawl space for a short distance before emerging horizontally through the siding and terminating at the exhaust hood. An access panel had to be cut into the ceiling crawlspace to route the duct. Robert did an excellent job navigating every obstacle. The drywall was cut to shape, replaced, and re-textured. All gaps were sealed and caulked. The work was completed in two days (I had not required priming and paining). I highly recommend Robert Walker, especially for similar projects. His work is thorough and professional, and he knows what he is doing! After the project was completed I installed the "microvisorhood" ([*** Link removed ***] which greatly enhances exhaust effectiveness when using the front burners! ([*** Link removed ***] It is also easy to remove when not required

My initial meeting with Cameron alleviated any fears that I had to working with a contractor. I don't know what I was expecting but what showed up was a polite, knowledgable, friendly, and dare I say it, normal person who patiently answered any questions I had. I didn't feel like he was trying to up-sell me anything, bully me, talk down to me, etc, and his suggestions were the valuable feedback that I needed to make the right decisions for my kitchen project. Casey then took over as the project manager and was equally enjoyable to work with. I'm not going to lie, having your kitchen torn up even for a couple of weeks, is quite stressful; but Casey managed to make it as painless as possible. It was very apparent from start to end that the crew that Capmire has working with them is happy, hardworking, punctual, and above all else, quality craftsmen. I literally could not be happier with how every detail of my kitchen turned out. The motto Capmire Projects has on their letterhead reads "Understanding Your Vision" - Cameron and Casey fulfill that promise

I needed someone with more experience related to duct work and drywall (and with the right tools for the job) to move an opening for the range hood exhaust up a foot. After reading several handyman reviews on here, I called Richard. He was prompt to answer and provide enough information over the phone that I felt comfortable having him come out to survey the job. It wasn't a large $$ effort, but Richard gave me a reasonable estimate, and he had experience in this type of task. We scheduled his return, which he showed up on time with all the tools and materials needed to complete it. Richard worked efficiently and thoroughly, but didn't seem rushed despite it being a relatively small job. I appreciated him showing me a couple 'tricks' so I could do this job myself next time (likely never but hey...), being that I am generally fairly handy. He is courteous and friendly and cleaned up the area well after completing. I'll surely be calling him again for future jobs that I am not experienced or comfortable doing myself

The work took longer than we expected as the granite company was behind at their company. They had an entire crew out and was behind in all their installs. Also had a carpenter who broke his ankle which caused delays. Once the granite was installed, things went very quickly. It was frustrating being without a kitchen for two months, but it is gorgeous now. I did have some pull- out shelves in all my lower cabinets that were removed for this job. Unfortunately, they were scattered between my garage and my dining room. I could only ascertain where four of them were to be reinstalled. As luck would have it, these shelves were not able to be reinstalled as they no longer fit. John Klink (owner) is dropping by tomorrow or this weekend to see what can be done to replace them. I had some new cabinets made and will have to get new pull-out shelves. The workers did put up plastic sheeting which kept most of the mess contained. The workers are very nice and professional. His company does excellent work and I have hired them to finish my master bathroom
Excellent! The quality of the work far exceeded my expectations. They had great communication about what work was going to be done each day and stuck to the agreed timelines. They were very honest and I was comfortable leaving them to work with nobody else in the house. The prices were very fair for the work being performed and Tri-Way has a great network of contractors to ensure you only have to work with one company to get a wide range of services done
David with Fix Y'All is fantastic! So far, he seems to be able to fix or install everything that we have thrown at him! Our new home needed many repairs. We also decided to replace several chandeliers, and install a motion detector light. Everything was done perfectly. David is professional, prompt, reasonably priced, and skilled at what he does. Would definitely recommend him and plan to use him for all of the repair jobs we have
After discovering mold growing out of one of our vents, we used Angie's List to call 5 companies for quotes. TakeAir was the only company that took several pictures of the vent and actual AC unit. Avi sat and talked with my husband and I about the problem, explained our options, and pricing, including warranties. They had the longest warranties for their services, which gave use the impression that they back their work. We scheduled with them on Thanksgiving (yes, they were available for us to contact with any questions). They came out Sunday and worked diligently from 10:30am-3pm. They covered our furniture and belongings to ensure that it wouldn't get dirty. They took our vents off and washed them, cleaned the boxes, intakes, ducts and unit. After washing, they sanitized and installed the UV light system to prevent the problem from occurring again. They cleaned up afterwards. The smell of our house is wonderful after they used their organic solution. We are extremely pleased from the initial call, schedule for quote, questions, schedule for job, and actual job. Highly recommend!
Mario & Sons are THE MOST spectacular crew I have had the pleasure of working with. They are exceptionally clean, carefully laying out protective covering wherever they work. Their work is meticulous, perfect and beautiful. They take their time to make sure that the work is done right and do not over charge. Their prices are extremely reasonable. I recommend them to everyone I know! We very much enjoyed having Mario & Sons in our home, and will call upon them from this point forward for any repairs, maintenance, or additions
I received a recommendation for Courageous Renovations from the installer of my door. I have had it for about six years and the sun had weathered the finish. Michael worked with me to find a good time and got the work done quickly and neatly. The door looks great.
Agave came out and straightened & corrected what the company before them did and completed the job. They did good, quality work. I'm very pleased with what they did. The work turned out well. They completed the job in two days.
Peter responded immediately to my request. He and his employee works fast and very neat. Peter pays attention to details. My cabinets and countertops looks awesome. Absolutely love my kitchen.
All went great. ABC inventoried all my contents packed out and cleaned. ABC also worked with the actual homeowner on the structure cleaning that needed to be done due to the smoke damage. Everything happened fast and professional, and we were taken care of. I would use ABC again and I would refer AB
They worked quickly and they did an excellent job. I needed the siding replaced because the HOA sent a letter saying the old siding had to be replaced within 7 days. I called Oscar and they replaced all the siding and painted everything within 2 days. I am happy with the work that they did.
It was a good, service and they did a good job. I was totally satisfied. They finished the job in a timely manner. They were professional, courteous and they did what needs to be done.
Great job finished in 2 days, cleaned up after, even made suggestions lioenadding deck drains to make it look and work better which was appreciated. Went far beyond to make sure the work was detailed to match previous work and very courteous of the property and easy to communicate with. Would hire again to do other types of jobs
This was a total redo following Hurricane Harvey. It took months and required extensive work from all the trades. Bill Spell is talented in all phases of renovations and knows what has to be done and when. The finished product is beautiful.
They are very efficient and did a great job . The crew shows up to work on time and completed the project on time . They cleaned up after the work when they left in the evening. Very professional. After the work also followed up . We will definitely hire them again and recommend them .

What do customers in Houston say about Range Hood Installation?
Excellent service. The sale person for the range hood told me the installers would call to schedule a time. The installers called the same day, which surprised me because it was a Saturday. The installers scheduled a time to come out and do an estimate, were on time and told me when I could expect the estimate to be completed. The estimate was completed and I went back to the store and signed a contract for the work. The installers were on time, did EXCELLENT work, cleaned up after themselves. It was perfect. The range hood looks beautiful.
