SystemPools broke more parts than it fixed. More problems after than before. Communications are erratically, at best. Beware and avoid! Will not hire again.

He was extremely responsive when I first called for help. We set up an appointment for him to look at our hot tub and he even arrived early, was able to figure out how to access the hot tub via our built in access in the deck, and had the problem pretty much diagnosed within 15 minutes. He told us we needed a new circuit board and that he would find the part and let us know. I got an email a week or so later saying he found one and I asked the price. He responded with the price and I gave him the go ahead to order and get it fixed. That was the last I ever heard from him. I called back a month or two later trying to get a status. The phone was answered by someone new who said they had merged companies and that he would have the gentleman get back to me. They took my information and again, that was the last I heard. In the end, no work was ever done and he did not charge me to come out and diagnose the problem so I cannot, in good conscious, rate them any lower than I already have. I am guessing by the otherwise excellent reviews that we somehow slipped through the cracks and are the exception rather than the rule.

Troy is unresponsive at best. Nice guy, but never finished the repair and $2,000 later he won’t even return a call. Assume he’s out of business but if not, he should be

I trusted this man to fix the problem. He came one day and said the problem was fixed. It was not. He also told me a needed to replace the ozone....I did not. So he came back the second time, could not fix the leak, Had me pay him for the ozone and labor to replace. I called the company of the hot tub and was told I did not need to replace the ozone, nor did I need to pay him to remove the foam. I was taken advantage of and paid $500 for a leak that is not fixed!

Great job to quickly troubleshoot and repair our hot tub. Problem turned out to be the heater element was grounding out and tripping circuit breaker. Ron quickly found the problem which was covered under the warranty and repaired it. Very professional. Ryan worked with me over the phone to quickly set up the appointment before the freezing weather returned.

Hot Tub Repair and Service LLC came really quickly to my home after I contacted them. They gave me a bid of training as well. They were very responsive when I questioned them.

We were happy with them. That was great. I called them that day and he showed up later that afternoon. They did a great job.

After and initial problem with another service provider I found Bernardo at Hot Tub repair. Very professional and prompt. Came out one Friday and diagnosed problem, ordered parts while he was there and set up a future appt. The next Friday he had the parts and fixed the problem. All is good now. I would definitely use again and highly recommend.

This was a great find. I contacted them while in another state and scheduled the work to be done when I got back to Virginia. Their office staff was very responsive and the service team showed up when scheduled. I was very impressed with their work, especially the lead technician, Michael. He knew his stuff and was more than willing to explain in detail each step he was taking. He noticed some cracking in the fiberglass inside the tub and made a repair on the spot. He also had to crawl on his belly under the deck in which the tub sits to fix the interior spa light. He did it willingly and cheerfully. They also did a thorough check of the system after re-filling the tub. I felt like I could really trust these guys.

We used them in the past and the service was okay. I tried to get them to come for two months. They were not good about returning phone calls. After two months of trying they finally told me that they didn't have staff to repair hot tubs during the summer season and that I should call someone else.

I have tried for a week unsuccessfully to get any response from Capital Hot Tubs. I called the Clarksburg number (for the first time) on Thursday October 29 - got the machine, pressed "2 for service" and left a message stating needed hot tub repair and left name and phone number (made sure to speak slowly). No response. Called the Clarksburg number a 2nd time on Saturday 10/31, thinking I might have better luck on a weekend - got the machine again. Pressed "2 for service" again and left a message. No response. On Monday I figured maybe online would be a better way and sent a message via Angie's List (message said " have tried calling twice for hot tub repair, have gotten no reply. Maybe this is a better approach?" . NO RESPONSE - guess they don't need business that badly because I have tried for a week, been patient, but gotten no response. So I have moved on to another repair service.

I talked to Gary at Md Hot Tub and he was able to come out in pretty short order. He showed up when he said he would, and took care of our tub through a series of visits, Each time they showed up on time; they returned calls, and even called when he was all done to be sure we were happy. The overall price was not cheap, but a lot of that was materials, and I have no idea how to compare that. But overall, I was extremely happy with everything and see no reason to ever call anyone else.

Monday morning Mike Fitzwater, the repair technician, called and said he would be by in 10 minutes. While I was waiting for him, I did not notice his arrival so when I called him to check and see if he needed directions to my house, he had already assessed and determined what was broken with both the pool and the spa. We discussed what my options were and mike is locating the parts for the repair. Mike is very knowledgeable, courteous and pleasant man plus my golden retriever loves him. I would strongly recommend millennium pool service to anyone and everyone that has a pool and a hot tub or spa for service and repair. It's very rare that I get out any company a five star rating but in the case of millennium pool service you can't improve on perfection. Thanks Mike and Millennium Pool Service.

If you own a hot tub, you need to know about Spa Solutions, an independent hot tub repair company in Alexandria. Joe recently helped me with a complicated repair of my "vintage" 2001 HotSprings Spa. I had called other places, but no one had the time (or motivation) to help, given the age of the hot tub and the complicated nature of my repair... I called Joe, explained what I needed and he spent hours of his own time researching parts and options for my repair (BTW, this is *before* I even hired him!). He located a great parts company and gave me the part number to order. Joe came to our house, installed the new parts for our cover lifter and spent hours getting my spa back "up to speed"... Spa Solutions is a great company, I am glad I found them on Angies List...

It went wonderful. I have an older hot tub, that has been broken for quite a few years. Joe and Alex responded quickly to my desire to get it up and running again. I had read all of their positive reviews and thought, how can anybody be that good? They truly are! I have nothing, but glowing accolades for Joe and Alex. There are not many companies performing hot tub repairs. Joe was the only one that quickly responded to my initial call. My hot tub needed major work, and all appointments were kept punctually, and the work done professionally. I would like to highlight the expertise that they possess. Their experience in pin pointing and correcting the problems is invaluable. Now I have my hot tub running again, and it's purring like a kitten. These are now my go to hot tub guys and I wouldn't think of going anywhere else for my hot tubs maintenance!

SHAMEFUL AND UNETHICAL .... We contacted Bernardo Amenábar of Hot Tub Repair & Service, Inc. in June 2018. Explained that we were working with a Whirlpool Tub that was leaking in a rental located Germantown, MD. Advised that pump was no longer manufactured and wanted to resolve leaks from jets to use as a Soaker Tub Only. Since unit was installed in 1995, we made it clear that we did not want to invest a sizeable amount of money in a unit of that age. Wanted to confirm whether what we were interested in doing was even possible. Assured us that it was 100% possible. Fully understood our concerns and limitations. Spoke of his experience. Impressive…. Now, the beginning of the NIGHTMARE. He wanted digital pictures since the unit was located outside of his normal service area. We sent at 35, if not more with specs. Afterwards, we called and called. Nonresponsive. Finally reached him 6 weeks later. Stated that he was out of the country and planning another trip shortly. But would be willing to address upon his return. We agreed. Promised to email upon return. Never did. Emailed again in September. This time, he responded. Stated that he had been in contact with our Realtor to gain access. Tentative appointment with tenant was made on October 11th. NO OTHER CONTRACTORS IN GERMANTOWN, MD EXPERIENCED WITH REPAIRING THESE TYPES OF WHIRLPOOL TUBS. THUS, THE REASON FOR OUR PATIENCE. Sent email to Amenabar on October 6th, advising that we were leaving for Tel Aviv. Restated our concerns that the repairs could be completed October 11th and a 2nd visit would not be required since we were paying a premium cost for travel time. Lastly, asked him to do an extensive test prior to leaving premises to ensure that we are not facing any water leakage whatsoever if the unit is left on. Told him property was in the name of a “Trust.” Instructed the Administrator to issue payment immediately upon receipt of invoice and forgo check run. He agreed… Our Realtor, based in VA, confirmed that Amenabar called him and said he would be at the rental property at 11:00 AM. Did not arrive as scheduled. The Realtor called. Stated he was running late. Had not left Virginia. MY Realtor could not wait an additional two hours for his arrival. Told Realtor that a credit card payment was needed in advance after agreeing to payment by check. My Realtor was NOT aware of this commitment, BUT AMENABAR WAS, and in good faith gave him a credit card. According to tenant, he arrived and was there for less than 45 minutes. ABSOLUTELY, NO WORK WAS DONE. Charged credit card $322.40 - $310 plus credit card service charge. THE AUDACITY OF SOME TO OUTRIGHT CON PEOPLE. Proceeded to contact Trust Administrator via email on October 12th – Attached is invoice. Detailed estimate will follow. Several days past – NOTHING RECEIVED. On October 20th, the Administrator sent an email to him asking whether repair had been scheduled since NO WORK was done on October 11th when payment was rendered. AGAIN, OUT OF THE COUNTRY. THIS TIME - Hot Tub Repair & Service will be closed until October 31st. We'll be at the Expo INTERBAD, Stuttgart, Germany. Emails may not be returned until Thursday, November 1st. FINALLY ON NOVEMBER 3RD, RECEIVED THE FOLLOWING: This job requires parts to be special ordered*, and the removal of the tub. To special order these parts, they must be paid in full in advance. And for that - $3072.85. YOU DECIDE….. BEWARE – WE LOST MORE THAN $300. WE WERE SUCKERS. HE KNEW WE HAD FEW OPTIONS AND FULLY TOOK ADVANTAGE OF THE SITUATION. IF OTHERS ARE RIPPED OFF THIS WAY, I NOW UNDERSTAND HOW HE FUNDS HIS INTERNATIONAL TRIPS TO EUROPE. PATHETIC…. Hopefully this review will save you from being victimized as well.

After Keven installed the new motor and wet end in our spa, the timer stuck in the 'on' position. Keven came out and cleaned the contacts, and it was working fine. He charged his normal labor fee of $115. A couple of days later, it stuck again. This time Keven put in a used timer at no cost that he had on hand. A couple of days later, this timer stuck in the 'on' position. After talking to Keven on the phone, I ordered a new timer of the same brand and type as our old one. Keven came out and installed the new timer. A couple of days later, this timer also was stuck in the 'on' position. He and I were totally dumbfounded by this problem. The timer was rated at 16 amps and the motor was rated for 16 amps, but the timer contacts kept getting fused after a day or two of operation. At this point I suggested he test the start-up amps, which he did. Hello! for one fraction of a sec. the motor draw peaked at 18.1 amps, effectively frying the contact points on the timer! Keven ordered a different brand timer rated at 20 amps and came out to install it. Mind you, Keven had to come out FIVE times over an eight week period to get this problem fixed but never charged us more than the original $115 fee to clean the contacts on our old timer. He has a 90 day warranty on his labor and he stuck with his policy, even though he had to travel from Damascus MD to our place in Takoma Park. I paid $40 for the new 16 amp timer I had ordered and paid him $40 for the new 20 amp timer he had ordered. This was definitely a difficult situation for both Keven and me, but we stuck it out with a lot of patience and humor and he got the job done. I highly recommend Keven for any hot tub repairs.

After another highly rated company no-showed twice for appointments to help me get the hot tub that came with our house, I went through a couple of nervous weeks wondering whether I was going to ruin it. I noticed that Hot Tub Repair & Service had uniformly good reviews and were also close by, so I thought I'd try them next. It's occasions like this that I wish I could give a higher score than an A. Every part of the experience was outstanding. Bernardo is careful and patient in his explanation of a fairly complicated subject, and it's clear that he's much more than just a technician when you hear how comfortable he is explaining the chemistry and physics involved in keeping one of these things running. What I got was essentially a two hour master class on cleaning, draining, and refilling the tub, and then starting a new maintenance routine using some new products. Bernardo discovered that our ozone generator needed to be replaced, and I'm delighted to have them back over again to that work. My anxiety over caring for the tub is now replaced with confidence that I'll be able to handle the maintenance myself, and I'm looking forward to doing some of the fun parts myself. I highly recommend this service for anybody just starting out with a hot tub, and I enthusiastically recommend usingHot Tub Repair & Service for it!

Had to call several times to get someone to return my call. Would have given up at that point but finding someone to repair hot tubs is difficult in this area, apparently. They finally came out and determined I had a bad recirculating pump. Had one in his truck, which he installed, but it turned out it was a bad pump. $150 service call. 4 weeks later and two more phone calls, they came back and installed the new pump. Charged $300 for the pump and another $150 call. I don't feel as though I should have had to pay for the 2nd service call since if the 1st pump had worked, I would not have had to. He said it wasn't his fault either, but it is HIS supplier, and that is partly why we pay professional fees, because professionals stand by their parts and labor. If you use this supplier and he supplies you with defective parts, that's between you and him and the customer should not have to pay. Light was never fixed; nozzles never attended to. A phone call left me with either accepting the cost as is or of him coming out and taking out the pump and returning my money. But then I've just had a big waste of time and am back to square one. So for now, I've swallowed the cost, but will not be using them again in the future.
