- Phoenix Home Services IncThis is the second project we have hired Phoenix Homes Services (PHS) for, the first was a complete remodel of our bathroom which we still love. This time we worked with them to convert our garage to a brand-new room with full bath, laundry closet, and bonus shelving. The timeline for the project from start to finish has been about 6 months. In June we did an initial walk through with one of the principals to discuss options. Having worked on many homes in our neighborhood and in the area, he is well versed on some of the challenges that occur with remodeling older homes. As part of the walk through he explained areas that may require extra attention like electrical and foundations. This helped set expectations for the project and gave us information to use to set up a contingency fund as a backup plan. Once a general concept was agreed upon, we established the contract and began work on the design. The initial design from the designer really highlighted the possibility of the space. He patiently worked with us to adjust it so it perfectly fit our needs. Communication was good as they worked the permit process, and we got lucky that construction could start a couple of weeks earlier than planned (not guaranteed by PHS, it was truly luck). Demolition work can be loud and chaotic. Since we were living and working from home during this process. PHS made sure the site was as orderly a possible and did what they could to accommodate our meeting schedules. We also received assistance with picking finishes and items for the space. As warned, issues were identified with the electrical and foundation. Because of the initial prep discussion, we were prepared and able to work with PHS on a solution that brought everything up to code and would support the room. We were provided weekly email updates on the status of the project and the crew showed up on time every day. Each step of the project was explained, and recommendations were presented so we could make the decision that was best for us. Everyone we worked with was kind and patient, which is so important when involved in something that can create so much anxiety. Our project was completed within the timeline provided. One of the nicest surprises was with the bonus shelving, which I just asked to be built. Because PHS focuses on the details, the shelving was solidly built and painted. I was able to begin using it while the rest of the project was completed. Overall, we are ecstatic with the results; everyone has expressed how lovely it is. The process was well managed, and we would definitely work with them on any future renovations we need

"The technicians arrived earlier than we expected. They informed us of everything they would be doing and the approximate time it would take. They were very thorough, did an amazing job, cleaned up after themselves. We had no issues at all with the entire process. "Presidential Exteriors is a well-managed company. We had twenty-five, very large, windows, two large sliding glass doors and the front door replaced. Everyone, starting with the young man who approached us to talk about the company, the salespeople and the team doing the work was professional, polite, honest, pleasant and super careful. The windows, sliding glass doors and the front door look amazing. Our house is fifty-two-years old and badly needed to be "refreshed". The quality of their products is excellent. While the work was being done, several people from the company came by to check on the progress. After the job was completed, we met with Ben who came by to do a final inspection and answer any questions or concerns we may have. The crew cleaned up and vacuumed before they left. We will use Presidential Exteriors again to replace another door.

"We worked primarily with Connor, Mike and Jack to have all the windows and doors replaced in our DC row home, as well as having our back doorway turned into a large bay window and former window turned into a doorway (substantial masonry work). We had a lot of questions about the masonry work beforehand, and both Connor and Mike came out to our house multiple times (once with the mason) prior to signing a contract to walk us through the process. Connor and Mike were incredibly patient and helpful as we went back and forth via email over a span of weeks to ensure that we were 100% confident in the products we ended up selecting (Sunrise Restoration windows, ProVia doors). Connor’s communication was consistently exceptional, we would always get a quick response to emails/texts/calls and were regularly updated on the status of our order (delayed due to COVID-19). Connor was even able to provide a long-term financing option at our request. Once the products had arrived, Jack arranged our install dates and set expectations for the work. AWS showed up with a large crew of 10-12 workers who were all respectful, friendly and thoughtful as they maneuvered swiftly throughout our home. Connor and Jack were present to oversee a lot of the work, though the crew needed little direction. The speed at which the team operated was impressive, and the quality of the install did not suffer as a result. Although we had purchased inserts rather than full tear replacements, some of our window frames had deteriorated and AWS replaced the damaged wood frames without hesitation. Given the small size of our home, we weren’t able to get much done while the team was working but luckily my partner and I both had work off during the two install days. During the installation we realized that one of the initial door measurements had been off, and Mike very kindly offered to order a correctly sized replacement door at no cost to us. A couple months after the initial install, Connor and Jack returned when the replacement door was ready and also inspected all the windows and doors to ensure that everything was perfect. I cannot overstate the level of dedication to customer satisfaction we experienced with AWS. As I said, this was not a small job and we could not be happier with the final outcome. Even when unexpected challenges arose along the way, Mike, Connor and Jack put our wants and needs first in determining the appropriate solution. AWS is a truly professional operation, and we’d highly recommend them to our family/friends/anyone considering new windows or doors.

"Vienna Woodworks was on the task to ensure the work was done during the Covid pandemic. During the construction they worked diligently and excellently. The screened porch was tastefully designed and built. The poolhouse was designed with year round comfort and efficiency in mind. From the bathroom, sitting and exercising areas and the pool and patio areas and landscaping with lovely shrubs and plantings the entire project was well done. Communication was key for this project. "They arrived, climbed on my roof and used a leaf blower to blow out my gutters. They were done in about 5 minutes, ready to get paid and leave. So I had to ask them to get back on my roof with my garden hose and flush out the downspouts and then clean up all of the leaf debris their leaf blowers left all over my back patio. I've used I&J for many years to clean my gutters and these things were never anything I had to ask them to do. It seems their quality has slipped. I may have to think of a new company for this service in the future.
