Work consistently needs to be redone. The staff expertise is also inconsistent. I would often get no returned phone calls when the work needed to be redone. I found the overall experience to be unprofessional for the steep price.

This is the second time we have used Home Transformations for a large interior painting project, and we will continue to use them! We have several family members with asthma and chemical sensitivities, and Kurt was very understanding of our needs and worked with me to provide zero VOC solutions for our whole project. His crew of painters are courteous, punctual, and do great work. We couldn't be happier with the end results, and would happily ask them to do work in our home again. Kurt came and checked in on most days of the project, and we appreciated the attention to detail. Kurt was also very understanding when the hardware we ordered didn't arrive on time, and sent his crew back to finish the installation without complaint. We highly recommend Kurt and his crew

Super job. All the work was done in a timely fashion and with good quality. I was happy that We could hire a contractor to come out and provide great work on several different repair items. The pricing was fair, and the workers were pleasant and trustworthy.

Janel was very patient in coming up with our kitchen remodel plan. She had good ideas to incorporate and listened to our desires. She was very responsive to our questions and concerns from the beginning to the end of the project. Most days she personally was at our house and making sure the workers were doing the remodel as specified on the plans. Janel had a good crew of workers, good contacts and guided us to good places for our lights, cabinet knobs, granite, sink, tile excreta. Janel carries several lines of cabinets and we are very happy with the workman ship and quality of the cabinets we ordered from her

Joel is great! I would highly recommend him. From start to finish, he was very responsive (I think he came out the same day I requested a quote to see the project), professional, and a did an amazing job. He took his time to listen to everything we really needed, offered suggestions without being pushy at all, and completed the project on a tight timeline. I think he went above and beyond what was expected by him, for example we bought all new appliances and Joel installed them for us without charge. We couldn't be more pleased with hoow things turned out, they look like brand new cabinets! I would definately recommend him, he's hard working and trustworthy. By the end of the project I just left the door open for him to let himself in. He cleaned up after each day's end keeping the kitchen totally functioning during the short remodel time. If you're in the market for cabinet refacing, you should have him out for a quote to compare, I think you'll find his rates are very reasonable

Lonn came and talked us through what cabinet refacing was all about, answered our questions (we had a lot of them) and gave us a free estimate. He clearly knew his stuff and we were impressed with his ideas for how our cabinets could be more functional. Lonn is not a high pressure sales guy. He's a craftsman who takes a lot of pride in his work. This was apparent in our interactions with him right away. After the initial estimate, Lonn came over to take specific measurements. During this appointment we chose wood type, color, hardware and trim options. There's a lot to choose from and we deferred to Lonn's professional opinion quite a bit, which he was happy to give when asked. We also scheduled a week for Lonn to come out and start work. The entire job was completed in about 3.5 days. Lonn cleaned up after he finished every day and he kept us informed on his progress. He was extremely attentive to each and every detail. We asked about a dark spot on some trim because we thought maybe it had gotten scuffed. As it turns out it was actually a naturally darker spot in the wood. We assured him that it wasn't a big deal, but he went to the trouble to replace that piece of wood anyway, just so it was perfect. I asked him where the old hinges were after the first day because one of our bathroom cabinets had a broken hinge that matched the old kitchen ones. I figured I'd just grab a hinge from the bag of scraps and replace it myself, but Lonn beat me to it without me even asking. It's small details like this that make Lonn stand out from the crowd. Our completed kitchen looks amazing and it is 100 times more functional than it used to be. If I can figure out how to post pictures with my review, I'll definitely do so. We couldn't be happier, and we would (and already have) recommend Lonn to anyone. If we decide to reface our bathroom cabinets at some point, we would hire him again in a heartbeat. Thanks again Lonn - you're a rockstar

Cary returned my call within an hour and arrived on time. He was well dressed in a company shirt, so I knew who he was, it was also on the truck. He suggested I get a list of things I wanted done, and he would try to squeeze in everything he could. He looked over the list and suggested some other items that I really needed and it was all included in the price he had quoted. He was professional, polite and cleaned and vacuumed where he was working when he was done. The price was half of what I was quoted from others, and I got a free fire extinguisher. He is very concerned about safety

Dean was prompt on scheduling a time to discuss what we needed done and made an appointment shortly after. He took the time needed to discuss what our projects were and gave his recommendations. He tackled a variety of projects and the work was done very professionally and he also offered ideas and was very patient and helpful throughout the process. We would certainly use Dean again for future and quot;handymanand quot; projects

This was part of a small kitchen remodel in a home built in the 1958. The entire project included cabinets, countertops, appliances, electrical, and plumbing. I met the rep from Al's Cabinets at the spring Home and Garden Show. I worked on design and estimates with a total of three cabinet makers and decided on Al's to maximize my budget and still get custom cabinets

Samantha was awesome. She really knows how to do all this stuff (!) and has the skills and tools to complete these types of projects. She took the initiative to contact Anderson Windows to get a replacement part for one of our casement windows, and even had a woodworker friend who built a new oak doorsill to replace one that was leaking cold air. She's fast and efficient, moving from one task to another quickly and competently. And she rolled with the punches well as our list kept growing. We already have a list of "next stuff" for which we'll hire Samantha again

We found Custom Refacing on Angies List and because of the high reviews called Lonn to come to our home to give an estimate for refacing our kitchen cabinets. Lonn initially came one evening and took rough measurements, showed us the door options, and suggested a few things to improve the look of our kitchen. He was very prompt and professional and was able to give us that evening a good idea of the cost. After thinking about it for a few days, we decided to have Lonn do our cabinets. He was booked out for a few months, but we were able to wait. A month before the job, he came to take final measurements, help us select cabinet door style, stain color, and cabinet hardware. The next couple days we were unsure whether we had chosen the right stain color, but Lonn was very patient and willing to do several samplesof stain so we were sure to be pleased with the final results. The week the work was done went real smoothly. Doorways were closed off and large tarps were put up to minimize any dust getting to the rest of the house. It took him just three full days and clean up at the end of each of those days was impressive. We are thrilled with the results and love our new kitchen. We are so happy that we were able to improve our kitchen without tearing out all the old cabinets. We still need to decide on a back splash, but just getting the cabinets finished made a huge change for us. The price was more than we expected, but with the changes Lonn made and for the type of wood we chose, we are satisfied that we truly got our money's worth. We would definitely recommend Custom Refacing to anyone thinking about remodeling a kitchen

I bought that for my sister because she needed to have a bunch of light fixtures switched out and to be perfectly honest, he took a very, very long time. I wouldn't use him again because she had to pay an additional hour that cost her another $99 just for it. He was very slow, this is just replacing light fixtures that were already there and it took him an hour and a half to replace one light underneath a cabinet. What I wanted him to do, she had all these new light fixtures and all he had to do is switch out the old ones for the new ones and I called her about midway through thinking he'd probably almost done and she said it took him an hour and a half to do that under cabinet light. Obviously he wasn't going to getting done anytime too soon so by the end of the day, she told me she had to pay him for another hour. He installed a new smoke detector, replace the smoke detector that was already there and then he replaced 5 fixtures total but he was working by himself and I think he just was very slow. She said he was a nice guy but she just thought that he worked very slowly, she actually had more things that she wanted him to do in that time frame and she ended up paying another hour just to have him install those light fixtures so she had some cabinet hardware that she wanted to have it installed. I guess in our mind we just thought that it took him a long time just to replace fixtures, he didn't have to drill a new holes, he didn't have to add new outlets, he didn't have to do anything other than swap out old fixtures for new ones

Overall it went quite well. There were several small details that weren't done right the first time but Pavel was extremely responsive to every issue we brought up and had everything immediately fixed to our satisfaction for no extra charge. OTC's price was much more competitive than the other bids we received and we are very happy with the end result. Workers were all polite and nice. Timeline was essentially as expected

Northrup Remodeling, Roofing & Exteriors
5.0
My wife and I decided to take on a large renovation project to completely remodel the bathroom, redo the exterior of the house, fix a plumbing problem, add ventilation to the kitchen, replace some old windows, update a majority of the storm windows, add an electrical outlet for HVAC in the attic, custom French door to the closet, repair some drywall and upgrade the kitchen sink. We used Northrup on a previous project so we asked them to bid on the project. Just like the previous project, their vision and proposal perfectly matched our style so it was an easy decision. Also, their expertise in older houses showed a more accurate price than their competitors so the end cost was 100% spot on when it was time to pay the bill. In regards to the owner, team lead/project manager and extremely talented engineers, carpenters, painters, plumbers, etc. they showed a tremendous amount of care for our house, opinions and vision. So if you are high maintenance and expecting perfection, Northrup is the company for you. 1. Exterior of the house: The house was painted, a new mailbox was installed, a new house number plate was installed, new storm windows were installed and custom pediments above the main windows were installed. 2. Gut and remodel bathroom: Everything was replaced in the bathroom. We went with the top of the line fixtures, tile, ventilation, electrical and paint. Their team is so talented and now we have a small spa in our house. 3. Ventilation in the kitchen: We were unable to cook steaks because there was no ventilation in the kitchen. They implemented a custom ventilation with custom woodwork covering the ventilation pipes. 4. New kitchen faucet and fixed plumbing problem: This sounds simple but it was not. We had water leaks and they showed us why it happened. In summary, they fixed a serious water problem and made it look beautiful. They also installed a new faucet and cabinet hardware. 5. Electrical for HVAC: We decided to wait on installing air conditioning and opted to focus on other projects, but in preparation for a later project, they performed the electrical work in the attic. Without opening any walls, they spent 4 hours carefully pulling the wires through the wall. Amazing. 6. Custom French doors to the walk-in closet: This also sounds like a simple job but is was extremely difficult. They put the most beautiful framing around doors, installed antique brass/crystal door handles, matched the new wood flooring to the old flooring and installed floor mounted door latches so the doors don?t rattle when the windows are open. Special thanks goes out to the owner (Mark) and the team lead/project manager (Ron) for amazing job. We love all of it

I found Custom Refacing, LLC (Lonn Schmitz) on Angies List a few years ago when I needed odd-sized vanity, a bathtub access door and two tall skinny linen cabinet doors in our master bath refaced. That project went well, still looks great and has held up well. So, when I was ready to do the remaining two vanities, I called Lonn. I was flexible on timing and wasn't in a rush, so I just let Lonn schedule me in when convenient for him. Lonn came out to measure and a couple weeks later, on July 3, did the installation. He set up his saws in the garage and got to work. He works efficiently and is very, very tidy. He puts a cloth runner down on the stairs and vacuums up when he is done. He bagged up all the scraps (he even bags up trash neatly). Lonn is punctual, hard working, does high quality work and a genuine nice guy; I highly recommend him. I have him preparing an estimate for a little two-door shelf unit for over the toilet and am having him prepare an estimate to do my laundry room

The subs are all scheduled at the beginning of the project and are kept to a tight schedule. From tear-out to finish, the project took only 2 months, which I think is amazing. Dave is incredibly easy to work with.....always willing to listen and make necessary adjustments, and his workmanship is top-notch. The hood over the cook-top was initially too low (hit me at eye level and my husband even lower), but Dave raised it and reworked the upper cabinets and no one would ever know. He also installed 2 steel support beams to replace 2 hollow columns that should never have been allowed by a previous re modeler...that was an unexpected surprise, but he dealt with it quickly and efficiently and we're confident it's right now. We enclosed them in the side of a display case that was made to look like a piece of furniture and matches the rest of our cabinetry
