Dropped off two window screens with bent frames and requested new frames. The guy called and said he could straighten the old ones "pretty darn good" instead of making new ones, so I said OK. Mistake--they are still bent, don't seal the window opening and look terrible. Also, he didn't replace the broken hinge points, which would have been easy with the screen off, and he couldn't find replacements for the broken catches. Management said they would make me new screens, but I would still have to pay for the "repair." So he talked me out of getting new screens, but I'm out $50 and I'm going to have to get new screens after all--somewhere else. I believe in supporting local businesses, which is why I paid for the work instead of leaving it unclaimed, but I won't use this business again. They don't stand behind their work

The staff is always curteous and helpful. Unlike many home improvement giants, these guys know what they sell and are eager to help and educate. I have gone here for over 15 years and have always left satisfied. It will be a sad day when this small "mom & pop" store gets eaten up by a Lowes or Home Depot

four years ago my wife and i contracted with barry to replace the screens on out back porch. he used a new kind of screen and it is still in perfect condition. three years ago barry painted extensively inside outr home and that work is also in excellent shape. our most recent contact with him consisted of indoor (bay window and assorted doors)and outdoor (porch super structure) painting, as well as some cement work on back step and installation of two floor protectors. as usual,, due to his love of and pride in his work, everything has been a five-star performance. hire this man for any painting and handywork. barry is excellent

I bought a Sony Bravia HD. The reason I like this place is because, we also have a riding lawn mower we bought there, and they come and pick it up and service it for two women who don?t know how to do anything. I could have gotten the TV cheaper somewhere else but Hostetter?s brings it out and delivers it, takes the old one away, and sets it all up. So that is why I like this place. It is like an old fashioned hardware store where they have the bins of screws and nails and they have these older men working there. I can go down there and say I need one of these and hand it to them and they will say right over here and pull out a box and give it to me. They are very helpful and very nice to deal with. I like to support the locals rather than the big box. They will come fix it too if I have a problem. Two days after I got this TV the cable company made us all go digital. I couldn?t get it to work and I knew it worked two days before. I called down there and talked to the guy. He said our men are out in your area how about I have them stop by? They came in and figured out what was wrong. It was the cable company?s box that had burned out and they told me what to do and showed me how to do it. They set up the TV so it worked and I got a new box and it was fine. There aren?t very many places that will send someone over and they didn?t charge me to do that. I have been going there for 19 years

The work went very well. We had "pet proof" screen installed as our cats like to climb the screen after bugs. Marc researched and found an excellent product. He made sure that there were extra staples holding the screen. The screen is great. The cats have put it to the test. The finished work looks really nice. Actually better than what we had before

We had contacted numerous companies to get an estimate for the work we wanted to get done. Only one other company made an appointment with us and then they never showed up! Tom was very accommodating and quick to respond to any questions or additional work we added to the job. He informed me that one of the reasons he went into business for himself was that he had issues getting people to respond to his requests for help and was astonished at how difficult it was to find true customer satisfaction. All of the worker's, Dan, Josh, Ian, Hank Mike, Drew, Patrick and Mike were extremely easy to get along with and did everything in their power to ensure we were satisfied with they work they performed. Thank you to all of you! We were so pleased with Home One that we've scheduled two other jobs for them to do at our house!! They were good but I chose someone who was less expensive. They were punctual and very professional. I do not remember the quote that they gave me but I had a very good interaction with them. It was straightforward and it was not a high pressure sale. Their price just ended up being higher than somebody else
