ARCHITECTURAL STONE

Architectural Stone first installed our Kitchen counter tops. The center island had a cantilevered bar with a custom curve. Brian was able to match the curve perfectly and with his input we were able to design the proper structure to support the 32" cantilevered bar. We were so impressed with his work that we brought him back to complete our master walk in shower. We had him install floor to ceiling granite and peddles for the floor. Architectural Stone is who I call for natural stone work

Artistic Stone Kitchen and Bath Inc

The work, final appearance of the new countertops/sinks, and all interactions we had with Artistic stone were excellent. They were responsive right from the start and throughout the process. The slabs were easily viewed in their show room so we could pick out exactly those three we wanted, which were then reserved. Artistic stone was very flexible in the scheduling so we could have the work done in two stages to still have a working sink during the process. The workers were prompt, very courteous and highly skilled. The whole process was totally positive, and the results were beautiful. We highly recommend Artistic Stone

Heavenly Touch Stone Care

Very well, James works very hard to get the job done right. He came out for an estimate and then returned to complete a job that took 5 hours for stage 1 of the process and then returned to complete the job after the filling cured. I got an education in stone care and what materials are and are not appropriate for shower enclosures - our travertine had too many openings in the stone surface, but James was able to correct the problems

We purchased the stone from somewhere else as they did not have what we wanted for our countertops. We told them how we wanted it to be in the kitchen, they cut the stone the way we did not want them to cut it. We have seams where we did not want them. While installing the stone they tripped an electric box and left a tool on, so when the electricity when back on the cutting tool cut the surface of countertop. Also, they cut the sink too big. I will never use them again. They made it seem like everything was our fault

Stone etc Inc

They did a really good job and it looks really good. They were the cheapest and another contractor couldn't come within $1,000 of them. It was definitely worth going with them but we had to wait because we went with them and not our contractor's person. It pushed the schedule back two weeks. You do have to wait but to save $1,000 it was definitely worth it. They did a really nice job and we had one problem where we thought they were not going to be able to line it up against the window the right way and I was really worried but he figured it out and it worked. It looks great

OMEGA STONE

Company reps did a good job with templating. The installation was on time and went smoothly. I discovered that one section of the counter was installed with the grain running differently than all the other sections, so I asked for that to be replaced. Jim, the owner, was very willing to make the correction. He didn't hesitated to accept responsibility, which I appreciate. But, it took a while to get that part redone. Overall, the countertop was beautifully made

ADVANCED COUNTER TOPS
5.0
We are very pleased with the end result. The fit of the countertops is excellent, especially the cutouts for our cooktop and sink. All the employees we worked with were friendly and professional: salesperson, scheduler and installers. There were two noteworthy snags: 1) we submitted a formal request to change the counterop edge from bullnose to beveled. It was signed by the salesperson but apparently was not communicated to manufacturing or it got overlooked. When the install team showed up the stone did not have the edge we had requested. We elected to proceed with the install of the stone they brought. 2) The installers were reluctant to repair drywall damaged during tearout that would be covered by the stone and not visible, but at our request they did fix it those areas before completing the install. However, there are still some drywall indentations and breaks visible above the backsplash that were not properly repaired

Gilmans Kitchens and Baths
3.0
Overall, very difficult process, mostly due to the fabricator Stone Etc. that Gilman's Kitchen and Bath in San Rafael use. The liason for Gilman's was as wonderful as she could be. Jennifer did all she could to make the process smooth, but in the end she was at the mercy of the schedulers, and reps of Stone Etc. Many mistakes made in the initial measurements done. If I hadn't had someone overseeing the project and double checking the measurements the outcome would have been pretty embarrassing for them since they market themselves as the leader in the industry. Upon Installation the Stone Etc. installers left a very noticeable gap between backsplash and ledge of pass through. Tried to blame it on the countertop not being level. Again, mistake in their measurement, since they are the "experts". They wanted to fill the gap which was just shy of an inch wide with caulking. The sales rep said it was the only solution based on a photo she was looking at. I had to forcefully insist that was not acceptable and pleaded for a revisit. They did revisit and finally agreed to our solution of adding an extra piece of Caesarstone. Wasn't impressed with the Stone Etc. experience and the amount of time I had to spend to get the job finished to an acceptable level. The installers left the front of our place a mess. Heard a lot of apologies, and even an accusation that we were being a bit entitled expecting more that caulking, and wanting a second measurement to help them avoid a bad installation. If one chooses to use Gilman's they don't accept credit card purchases. Since there are no other fabricator's other than Stone Etc. for most of the kitchen and bath companies, do have someone double check their measurements. Do insist they clean up to your satisfaction. Do expect to be delayed and not called back, or followed up with in a timely way from Stone Etc. Also be ware that the samples of quartz stone will not be what your end installation looks like

Creative Tile Design
5.0
Steve is just awesome in his job. We had our earlier contractor give up on us since our kitchen backsplash tiles did not arrive on time. I contacted multiple tile installation companies and some of them actually refused to install since the work was small. Among all estimates I got Steve was the best. He was not only responsive to all phone calls but also very thorough in his work. The tiles were not easy to work with since they did not interlock in the smooth-est way possible. But Steve made it work and the final work looks absolutely awesome! I would highly recommend Steve for any work that you have

Greco Granite

I found Tom on the recommendation from a friend who used him a few months ago. I selected the granite and he picked it up and fabricated it based on my kitchen specs. Tom was great to work with. Overall, he does great work, but I hired him several months before my cabinets were installed so when I was ready for him to make templates and start the counter phase, he has several other jobs on his plate. He was able to get things done fairly quickly. It took just over 2 weeks to fabricate the counters and then one day to install. After a few days, he started the backsplash, which took about a week to complete. The timing/responsiviness is no better or worse than standard constructions times. Overall, Tom's work is outstanding and I would highly recommend him to others

UNITED MARBLE & GRANITE INC
5.0
United Granite and Marble worked with me to select the right stone, including sending me to their main supplier (MSI) to select the exact slabs I wanted for the master bath. They assign someone from their shop to price out the stone and that is it. The price never changed, even when my bathroom contractor made the shower walls so uneven that I had to have the work done over, so that United Granite and Marble had to wait for the correction to be completed. As I worked with my contact person, Frank Russell, he sure that I understood that prices and process for the ordering, the template time, the carving and cutting time and when the final installation would be complete. The final stone installation looks fantastic! I am so pleased with how the entire project went, from ordering to installation. Frank Russell probably deserves the most credit for putting up with my picky and odd ideas, but he was patient and knowledgeable. I loved going to MSI and working through Frank to get the slab, Rain Forest, selected and shipped to United Marble and Granite. The template was done by Ishmael, who was diligent and very professional when he came to lay out the templates, for the tub surround, the shower and the banjo top. He let me know that the wall was not flat enough to accept the stone. (I was shocked. It was off by more than half an inch!) While I worked out how it would be fixed, Ken Wallace worked with a friend of mine to determine what could be done. Then Ishmael came back, this time finalizing the templates. I worked with Dylan Koke to lay the templates on the rain forest rock to emphasize patterns in key areas. He had good ideas and pointed out better layouts for capturing the best of the slabs. Sean DeOliveira did a fantastic job with the design, giving me what I wanted, while making sure to modify my sketch so that the end result was actually doable. The crew who did the actual cutting did a great job. Everything fit seamlessly and the bookend approach, matching the slabs so that they looked like one piece of rock, worked very well. The final teams of people who showed up to do the installation were very professional. I can?t tell you all the names, but I think the leads were Hector, Moises, and Donald. The whole team was clean, thoughtful, polite, and focused. They worked well together, took a lunch break and got right back to work. They coordinated well with me for placement of the faucet hole on the banjo top. There was even an odd cut needed for the sink overflow that I thought would have to be made in such a way that the sink lip would barely cover it. But they figured out a way to shave the rock so that the overflow valve could slip right under the slab and maintain the integrity of the round sink hole. The hallway bathroom also looks really good, but that was a much more straightforward job. The stone for both bathrooms ws put into both bathrooms at the same time, efficiently using the team of installers. My biggest problem was staying out of the way because I kept wanting to see how it looked

The Countertop Store Of San Carlos

Wonderful experience. On time, on schedule, and on price. They placed some new stone counters on top of our formica counters. It looks great and matches wonderfully. The installer had some great suggestions as he measured--all of which we welcomed! We have used them before in the last few months. The covered some formica large scale tables with stone ($6000). There were intricate cuts around a top mount sink and outlets and switches. We will gladly use them again. Their no hassle, no problem attitude was outstanding. When one of the counters would not permit the drawers to open, they fixed it immediately without complaint! I cannot say enough good things about this contractor. I wish every vendor I dealt with was as professional and easy to work with
