ARC Lighting & Electric, LLC Victor Torres 215 Citrus Avenue Los Banos, CA 93635 (408) 722-5759 [email protected] We found ARC Lighting & Electric - Victor Torres from Google. At the time we looking for a professional company electrician to help us install a new generator at our house. I sent all the pictures we have for the new generator and our house power panels from the text message. And Victor sent back a link from online for the estimate. We are worried about he didn't see our generator and power panels at our house. How he can quote this price for this estimate. We requested him to come to check everything and make sure everything matches and compatible between generator and power panels. After he checked and sent us a new estimate. We asked him when he can start to install. And he said on Monday. This time is 9/23. That means he can start on 9/28. he asked us to pay the deposit first. We paid. On 9/24 we taxed him asked what time he will be at my house on Monday to install? He didn't reply to the text to me. I left the test message ask him to call me back and to confirm the time. After 3 days he replies to me. He changed the schedule to Wednesday 9/30 7 am to 9 am. Okay, we wait until almost 11 am he shows up. And start to connect the wires. He didn’t complete the work at this time because he didn’t order the Generator Cord. He asked my husband to order on our own. My husband asked me why? The quote is already included why we should order on our own. I check the estimated copy from him. And shown on the estimate this part is included. At the time he sent me an invoice. I saw he removed this part from the estimate list. We know is trying to get more money from us. I texted and sent him this copy asking why? At this time he changed again said ok he will pay for it. And I said your estimate already included. Why you try to change and asked my husband to buy our own this is about $200 for this part? He ordered from Amazon later. After about 10days. He said the part already got the part and schedule on 10/16 at 7 am. Finally doesn’t work for this installation project. And I called him what to do? He said is the generator issue. And he also said this generator not buy from them and ask us to return it buy a one from him. We don’t believe him. We said no because we know that is not the generator issue. He asked us to call the supplier mfg. We called. And the tech support said the generator no problem is their install issue. We told him. And he still keeps said he already completed the install to us. We said it is not working at all. How you can say is completed it? And he keeps telling us this generator had an issue. We asked him what issue? He said is not compliable with our power panel. We said before you quote and start work you already know what we had, right? If the generator not compliable you should let us know early before you start to quote and estimate to us. Anyway, we request the refund of the deposit we paid and we will hire a new professional company to do this not completed the work. He still keeps tell us is not his problem for this install. We have hired a new company and they found out is install issues not the generator issue. And they help fixed completed this generator install project. We are very disappointed with Victor. They don't have the experience and don't recognize their own fault. Through this incident, we understand that we must hire professional companies to do things. Because installation errors will cause future safety hazards. Always check are they qualify or not qualify to do the job

RON DORRIS ELECTRIC INC
2.0
Do not use Ron Dorris Electric for a generator install. I had been talking to a few companies before I selected Ron Dorris to do my generator installation. Unlike the other firms, the represented that they could take care of the whole job -- electrical, permitting and gas. The other firms only wanted to do electrical. There bid was higher than the others but I assumed that was because they were doing more. I foolishly agreed to start the project before I had a copy of their contract -- it was a handshake deal. In the end, I had to hire and pay a separate plumber $1,200 to do the gas line installation (on top of Ron Dorris' high bid) and they were unable to get me a permit. It was at this point that they suggested that I read the contract that they kept failing to send me after getting my email address wrong in five separate occasions including mis-registering my generator with Generac with another typo in my email address. That error cost me 2 hours on two separate calls to sort out these issues with Generac because Ron Dorris Electric felt that the warranty registration was a customer responsibility. The final straw came on the first day the generator ran in a power outage and the oil cap came off and filled my enclosure with oil and left me in the dark. I called Ron Dorris and they said they don't service generators. They sent me to Generac. Generac gave me a local service installer (who I should have called in the first place) who asked me to send a picture. The Generac authorized dealer said it was not a warranty issue that the installer should check to see that the cap is properly tightened. Ron Dorris disagreed. They said it was a Generac issue -- so I got stuck cleaning up the mess. So if you want a bunch of cost overruns, confusing representations, problems with permitting and negative surprises after they leave, you will be happy with Ron Dorris Electric

Norseman Electric Inc

We used Norseman Electric to install a backup home generator. The basic installation went ok, however, we never knew from day to day the status of the installation or when they’d be back. Then they disappeared and the generator was ‘off’. We called them and was told there was a problem with the wifi. They couldn’t get the wifi working. That maybe it needed to be replaced. We should call Generac. We called and Generac told us to run the generator - it needed to be on for various checks to be done weekly. And that the wifi was not needed - it’s a nice-to-have - for the generator to run. That lost 3 weeks of generator use because Norseman electric didn’t know that. They also never pulled the required permit to the installation. After many emails to them that went unanswered, we went to the state licensing board to complain. We still have no permit. They claim they never had to pull a permit for a generator before. We even sent them the information for our city on the requirements - very minimal- for a permit. They don’t know how to pull permits. So if you have a small job, go ahead and use them but don’t call them if you have a job that requires a permit

Hillman Electric Z
5.0
Hillman Electrical Corp did a phenomenal job at installing generators for several of my properties. They were fast, efficient and cleaned up as they worked so they didn’t make any extra work for me or my tenants. Because of these numerous Bay Area fires, I was really afraid but Lonnie put me at ease with his warm smile and ability to communicate so throughly with us all. We are all grateful for the choice to install generators. I would refer him and his workers to anyone who needs generator (s) or any electrical work as he also updated 2 panels for me quickly when my tenants complained of flickering lights that could have caused a major fire, I learned this later from Lonnie. He and his assistants/workers were so nice and they made my tenants and myself, very comfortable. Please accept this recommendation of high praises for Hillman Electrical Corp for the 25years experience they bring to the industry, I really appreciate their work ethic

Gilbert Electric
5.0
I asked Gilbert Electric to work on a number of items for my new home. 1) Fifteen or so cat6 and coax runs to several locations throughout the house as I was in the process of building a hard-wired home network, they ran the cable and installed the outlet boxes (I'm doing the final connections etc). 2) Installed a new hallway light switch because the older house didn't have the switches in a useful location, they tied into an existing circuit making it a 3-way switch 3) Installed a new circuit for a garbage disposal that I added 4) The bigger part of the job was ripping out the old electrical panel that was corroded, wired improperly (not to code), and generally old. Since i am also installing a stand-by generator, they installed the auto-cutover switch, brand new circuit panel (old panel was surface mount outside the home it is now relocated in the master bedroom closet so much more accessible), new weather-mast since the old one was also not to code, and connected it all back up to PG&E. Overall this was an 8 day job or so between all the various tasks, they were prompt, professional, and you really could see that they took pride in their work and did it correctly even when it would have been *very* easy for them to cut corners. Due to the relocation of the panel, they took care even handling the dry-wall and making sure there was insulation in the wall when they closed things back up. They also did a meticulous job of making sure they cleaned up all the wires and plastic trimmings that were created as part of the job. We agreed to do the job time-and-materials but they provided an overall estimate for the entire job, and they did not go over their estimate. Even though I wasn't there to monitor them all day, I felt very confident that they were working effectively that entire time. I will definitely have them come out and finish the final generator installation, as well as any number of future jobs that I have in mind, I do not believe you'd be disappointed in hiring this team
