We did a kitchen remodel & the cabinets were (unfortunately) of inferior quality & the initial installation was done very poorly (cabinets installed crooked, doors crooked, the product itself although theoreticaly "finished" looked unfinished). Alberto spared no effort to very detailed work adding trim, straightening the doors, reinstalling a particularly problematic corner door. He really made the best out of a bad situation (it turns out that if the initial instalation is screwed up, there si only so much you can do to remedy it - but Alberto did it & we were pleased). It is worth mentioning that we had three other handymen performng various work on these cabinets & on other matters, and Alberto was by far the best. I should also mention that Alberto also noticed other unrelated minor issues (e.g., faulty installation of a gargbage disposal) & corrected them as well. His rate is $150/hour & while that is more than most, we think he is worth it

I originally hired Carlos to install some new vanity tops and sinks and to repair and paint my deck. I was preparing my house for sale. After discussing with my agent the list of things to do grew substantially. Carlos stepped up and ended up taking on all the work. He (and his crew) removed popcorn ceiling, painted walls, ceilings, stair bannisters, cabinet doors, front door, steps and he installed a new vanity, tiled, fixed plumbing issues, fixed electrical issue with switches, repaired and installed blinds. Caulked and sealed and even removed a dead rodent in the crawl space! He did all this in a VERY tight timeline as I needed to get the house on the market. He worked long hours and when little stuff cropped up her came back to fix or change. He is polite, responsive and professional. He kept me informed of what he found and any needed changes and provide receipts for supplies quickly. I gave him a key and I was very comfortable with him working when I was at work. All in all a very good experience and I will use him again

I had a side wall cabinet against one side of the fridge that was never installed correctly and always seemed to buckle a little and wasn't secure. Mike came by to look at it and decided it was something he could fix. In talking about it, and his perfectionist eye, which I really appreciated, he ended up levels doors, repairing a cabinet door, and completely removing the side cabinet wall. He took the cabinet wall to his shop to cut it down along with an extra cabinet door he has to cut down in order to add filler to properly complete the job. He was here for several hours and did a marvelous job. Turns out my ceiling wasn't level, which created an illusion of cabinets being crooked but he solved the problem exceptionally. He was a pleasure to work with and I wouldn't hesitate using him again...for a repair or for custom cabinetry, which is actually what he specializes in. We first hired Dave to remodel our kitchen. He and his staff worked with us to design the cabinets and change the windows, floors, and counter--making changes that make our lives MUCH easier. Basically, our kitchen is now one in which we can 'age in place', with easy to use pull outs for cabinets, large drawers for storage, eye-level oven (no bending), and a fabulous wall to wall window and double the working space (just needed to move the sink and garbage cans. We even have a pet feeding station. When we discovered major termite damage a month later in our living room, Dave was who we called as soon as the termites were taken care of. His team did an amazing job propping up the cathedral ceiling to remove the damaged cross beam without having to take out the windows or do any outside repairs (see before photo). Fixed the wall, textured, painted and it was like new! Trustworthy, responsible, and easy to work with. And now we are going to have him repaint the house. We didn't even think of calling anyone else for an estimate

Larry Wick
Larry Wick is truely a master of all he surveys. His work is always first-class: for example, repairing a bathroom wall where a heater had been removed and badly patched. His sheetrock repair is smooth and perfect. He was able to spot signs of dry-rot around a deck slider..opened the wall and fixed it. The lighting and other electrical work he did was perfect. He is extremely experienced, and has a and quot;fixand quot; for any problem that I couldn't begin to figure out. He was happy to let me do the work I could handle while he finished the tougher stuff. I feel his rate - $50/hour - is extemely fair given his experience and expertise. Just one caution: Larry is a bit reticent about communicating. I'm out-of-state,and it was tough getting phone calls returned. The work gets done is a first class manner; you may simply have trouble finding out where he is in the process

Our kitchen walls, window sills, cabinet doors and pantry doors needed painting. Nick was prompt, neat, careful and respectful of our home. He prepared the surfaces (including a wallpapered wall) by sanding, puttying and priming them before painting. He removed the old cabinet hardware which was centered on each door and replaced them with new hardware and hinges in a more desirous location. He taped everything and protected all with drop cloths. He repaired our countertop at the seam. He cleaned up everything before he left at night. With the exception of one night, we were able to use the kitchen during the process. He was well organized. Nick also chipped, sanded and repainted our entryway stairs. He fixed our front door which was sticking and installed weatherproofing. He fixed and adjusted one cafe door by installing a new hinge. He repaired the front window box and installed new curtain rods in an area we could not reach by ourselves. Although never asked, he cleaned the ceiling tiles. Nick takes pride in doing a good job and does class work. We will definitely call him again in the future

I bought an Angie's Big Deal, but knew I had more than the 3 hours of work so I asked if I could get an estimate and also make sure I had any materials I needed for them to complete the jobs. The guy came out promptly and toured the house with my list of items to do. He was nice, professional and prompt. I had a leaky faucet and was told I needed a new one, but when I went to get a new one I was told only a cartridge in the handle needed to be replaced.. so I was a little disappointed about the knowledge base. After the tour I was told it was bout 4 additional hours and they could do all the work. I only needed to get a couple extra things for the job. My husband was present when the work was done so I am not super clear on where the communication broke down, but the guys did only about half the things on the list. They charged a reasonable amount considering the work that they didn't do. They charged hourly and worked effeciently I think they were fair with the work they did. They worked and cleaned up. My disappointment was that there was no communication to my husband about what jobs would not be done and why or any acknowledgement that they were aware of the jobs they had missed. There was no follow up from the company about possibly needing or wanting to come back and finish work. I had also asked for an estimate on some additional outside work, but there was no follow up. I am happy with the work that was complete and felt the price was fair. I am just looking for a handyman who can do it all as promised and communicate during the process. I still have a bunch that needs to be done so I guess I keep looking for the right guy

Twelve years of neglect led to ugly kitchen and bathroom cabinets, with water-damaged finish. To prepare the house for sale, we used NHance to revive the look of the cabinets, for far less than the cost of refacing or replacing. First, a sales person came out to take measurements, discuss options, and set expectations. Later, prior to the start of work, a supervisor came out to make final decisions and preparations. Finally, two workers completed the job in about 7 hours. They were absolutely true to their promise of dust-free and odor-free, which was important to us with small children in the house. They try to play up the sophistication of their offering, but it's really quite simple. They clean off old grime and remove or rough up old finish with what looks like a scratchy sponge. Next, they use a palette of bleaches, pigments, and dyes to try to color-repair water damage to the wood. Then they use a sponge or rag to apply a coat of sealer and a couple of coats of finish. There was no dust except for the dirt, grease, and other gunk that dropped off. I could not smell the finish at all. I figure they were getting about $100 per person-hour, so I didn't feel bad about calling them back for some touch-up work (and they were totally responsive to my request). They originally just forgot to do the kickboard under the kitchen counters. Also, there were several places where the finish had not gotten all the way down to some deep grain in the wood. Finally, there were some corners where the finish or dye had apparently pooled up giving a dark look. All of these were fixed in the followup visit. The result is of course not perfect. A very close look will reveal many imperfections, and perhaps most of these could be fixed if they spent twice as much time on the job. But now when a potential buyer walks into the kitchen, they will see totally reasonable cabinets, and not be turned off by disgusting water-damaged finish. In the end, we have to ask ourselves -- why didn't we do this three years ago??

We'd strongly recommend Walt for any painting project. Our front door was peeling and the underlying wood was deteriorating. Walt arrived promptly when scheduled, gave us several repair options, including the option to buy a replacement door rather than use his services to repair the existing one. We could not be more disappointed in the lack of quality and numerous items left incomplete. We feel that Tom broke every promise he made, especially about performing top quality work. We paid Tom over $26,000 to install flooring throughout, paint the entire interior and do two minor support beam repairs and various other small jobs that he never got around to, yet we feel we paid for. We have several walls that never got their 2nd or 3rd coats of paint, areas out of immediate view left completely unpainted, and door frames that were damaged and not replaced as instructed. There are paint speckles all over the house, on every window and areas on the floor where spilled pain was rubbed into the grain. Yesterday one of the closet shelving units Tom hung came crashing down; looks like he missed the support beams entirely. We had to buy an extra box of flooring material because they wasted so much of it with bad cuts, there was not any left over. We had to buy more because after the floor was installed one of the workers burned an area by knocking over a lamp and not noticing. One of the most disturbing issues was that there were underage family members working on site. Everything they did they did wrong because they got no guidance from their crew leader. Tom himself said he was unhappy with much of the work and promised to “fix everything” and did not; not even close. Tom must have said a dozen times, “I don’t want just this job. I want all your jobs.” And in the beginning we planned several other projects for him to do. But after the poor results of the first phase, and then, when we weren’t willing to commit to a 30k deck build after he repeatedly refused to provide us a written estimate, he just vanished, leaving all those promised “touch ups” undone. Every one of my door frames looks like the pic below. They said the new floor was too low but we stipulated in the contract that any and all door trims would be repaired or replaced. Communicating with Tom is a nightmare and after the fact we learned that had he called us and explained, lots of time and money would have been saved. Seriously, do not believe what this guy tells you. Considering the very poor quality we feel we were grossly overcharged. Hire someone else. The pics below are just A FEW examples
