Recent Review: For years we had postponed the hassle and cost of replacing the aging (and oft-leaking) tile roof on our single-family home, but this year we decided, not without some trepidation, that it was finally time. Affordable Roofing was one of several providers from which we obtained quotes (all of which were very highly rated on Angie's List, or we wouldn't have considered them in the first place), and while all of these companies were as professional and courteous as one would expect from an Angie's List award winner, none of them could match the complete package of expertise, selection, service and value which Affordable brought to the table. Throughout the quoting process Affordable was represented by Mr. Brett Bischof, a consummate professional whom we met when he came to our house to introduce himself and the product lines and services offered by Affordable. (Affordable carries the full lines of what my own research had suggested are the two largest and highest-quality roofing material manufacturers in the country, with the best product guarantees, as well.) After a brief introduction and review of options, Mr. Bischof ascended the roof to take measurements in order to be able to give an accurate quote. He then returned to give us a chance to ask any questions (we'd been perusing the brochures he'd left with us in the meantime), and we took him at his word when he said he'd be happy to answer as many questions as we might have -- and we did have a barrel full of questions, despite having already been through the quoting process with a couple of other roofers. Whether he expected such a litany of questions or not, he never let on otherwise, but gave patient and thorough answers throughout, and sometimes more than once (for example, when we didn't understand one of the finer points of roofing technology, warranties, or compatible option combinations). Though we were impressed with Mr. Bischof and with Affordable's warranties and service record, we weren't about to rush into such a big-ticket purchase. Over the course of the next several weeks we placed a number of follow-up calls to Mr. Bischof (as well as to a couple of his competitors) for verification or clarification of details on materials, warranties, options and pricing, and he continued to surpass with his technical and industry knowledge and his easy but polite and focused manner. When the time came for the final decision, not only did Affordable offer the best deal in terms of price and value, but we simply had no qualms about Affordable (while others left us with a small doubt here or there), and our general impression was that Affordable would go the final yard, when others might not. As it turned out, our confidence in Affordable and Mr. Bischof was never let down in the doing. They came to do the job during the dates they said they would come; they arrived to the house when they said they'd be here; they took all the care they had promised to protect our property and our pets and (most importantly) our selves during the inherently dangerous process of removing the existing roof; and they cleaned up as they'd promised at the end of each day (including sweeping up and using a magnet to pick up the many nails which inevitably fall about during the demolition phase). Their team was polite and courteous and focused on their job, and at the start of each day one or two of the supervisors introduced themselves, let us know of their goals for the day and expected progress, and encouraged us to approach them at any time with any questions or concerns. They finished the job on time and cleaned our lanai, driveway, landscaping and gutters (including a final pass with the magnet for any stray nails), so that the next day you would never have known they'd been there. The first-class service continued even after the job had been effectively completed, with calls from Affordable to let us know the expected time-frame for the county inspector to come to make the final sign-off on the permit, as well as to let us know when to expect the visit from the shingle manufacturer, who would inspect for quality of installation in order to make the warranty official. Finally, a few weeks after the job we noticed the kind of pleasant surprise one doesn't expect from any service provider these days: free of charge, Affordable had replaced some rotted boards near the soffits at one corner of our house (under the eaves so not part of the roof replacement process); I'd mentioned them only off-hand and in passing (asking whether they might have rotted as a result of a previous roof leak near that spot), and never with any expectation that Affordable would replace them (gratis or otherwise). Surprises like that never go out of style. We wholeheartedly and enthusiastically recommend Affordable Roofing, without reservation, and give them our highest rating.

Recent Review: Karoly was top notch from estimation thru installation. Very professional and excellent workmanship. Having been in construction for most of my life, I was very observant of how the installation went, how the windows and doors looked after, how they operated and how the crew worked together, how efficient they were and how well they cleaned up after themselves. All of the above was A+. We had been warned to expect a lot of dust everywhere and to cover everything, That was not the case with Karoly. The crew minimized that by using fans and the methods they used during the demolition phase of removing our old windows. County inspectors were pleased with installation and all passed with no issues. We are quite pleased with the windows and especially that we chose Karoly as our contractor. We got 5 quotes and sales pitches before choosing them. A+ rating is well deserved!

Recent Review: This was my second larger job with Jack o' Trades. As I expected, the price was on target with the estimate. I was given two estimates, one if the damage to be corrected was minimal and if the underlying damage was extensive. The work was impeccable. The gentlemen that came to the house started at 8 a.m. as agreed. They worked all day. You hardly knew they were working on the house. They were extremely neat. Logan (the business owner) came and inspected the job throughout the course of the work. I was considering changing a "a little something" on the job. Because Logan has experience with this type of work, we discussed it and I appreciate him being honest and explaining it wasn't necessary, it would still look good, without me spending extra money. I have used them before (one job of this size and one handyman job) and would do it again.

Recent Review: This was one of the best construction jobs I have ever experienced. Joe, Gary, James and Ryan were always on time if not early. They made very little mess, and swept up every night, laid down new construction paper every week. Ed was awesome as supervisor, pitching in where needed on occasion. Communications were terrific - I always knew what was scheduled for the week, and if there were any problems (they were minor) I was informed promptly. Jack was my initial contact, and everything he promised was delivered, including the time to complete the job (six weeks for the painting and the first, larger bathroom, a break for the holidays, and then four weeks for the second bathroom). I could not have been happier with the company, the crew and the results. I will definitely call Jack for my next remodeling job.

Recent Review: Avery Construction replaced everything in my living room. It was stripped down to bare walls & floors because of a mold issue. They had to remove my sliding glass doors & fix / replace everything. They also found that there was no insulation in my ceiling - so we ended up ripping that down too. He took out my hardwood floors (that were destroyed by the mold) and replaced it with tile - so they had to level the floor & prep it for the tile - then lay the tile for me. Their work was amazing & I was impressed with how clean they are! For so much work being done in that one room, I really didn't have much to clean up at all! We also had a leaking deck on my 2nd floor above the room with the mold. This was probably the cause of the mold - - - but they had to strip off the old deck & wrap around some kind of flooring that will make it so it won't leak in the future. While doing this, they had to remove my old railing (which was about to fall down anyway) - and replace the railing around my 2nd floor deck. We also had some minor other things that needed to be fixed according to my insurance company. I had just switched insurance companies - and after I signed on the dotted line, they came back to me with a laundry list of things that needed to be done in 2 weeks. Avery Construction was able to fit me in so that I was not cancelled by my insurance company. I am so thankful they were able to get it all done in the short time frame the insurance company gave me! This included a handrail be added to my deck that ran the length of my house - as well as a handrail being added to the steps of a storage shed because It has more than 3 steps up to it. Avery was able to make this all happen when other companies wouldn't have been able to get around to my job until a few weeks past my deadline. They also had to replace some of the T-11 (siding) around my house. My lawn guys had let the vines grow a little too much on my house. When we had that all removed (per the request of the insurance company) - we learned that some of the vines had somehow gotten behind the T-11 & were pushing it out from the house - causing it to decay & create a possible leak situation. Avery removed the damaged T-11 & replaced what was needed. I had full faith in their crew. Even gave them a key to my house & moved out while all of this was being done. It took almost 3 weeks for everything to be completed. I could have moved back in at the half way point - but I figured it was easier for them to work without me there. I'm usually very over protective of my house - always turing on the alarm when I get home & as I leave - but with Avery Construction, I felt I could trust them with everything & not have to worry about a thing. I feel so lucky to have found them - and to have them guiding me through this process that was not something I had planned to do right away. They were able to turn what should have been a negative experience - into a positive. I love my living room now - more than I did before! Laying the tile & painting the walls a color - totally opened up the room & I actually enjoy sitting in there more now than I did before. Everything happens for a reason - as long as you have the right people on your side. I feel very lucky to have had Avery Construction on my side & will for sure use them for other projects as well! :)

Recent Review: The work was started and completed on time. Ryan and James made sure to keep our home and furniture clean and safe all through the process. After the inspection was completed and satisfactory, Ryan returned to touch up all minor details he had noticed. Though we had a short list of concerns, he had taken care of all the items before we even mentioned them. Over all from the start of the process, ordering the doors from Chip and Courtney, through the installation, we couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Recent Review: Ivan's crew did a great job, and the final product looks great. I expanded the scope multiple times and Ivan was always accommodating and happy to help, and Ivan did a pretty good job fielding my never ending questions. His estimate was very fair, and I never got the sense he was trying to "up sell" me on anything. Rather, he was trying to talk me down from spending money on repairs that I did not need. He was very knowledgeable and offered a frank appraisal of the the water intrusion situation at my house. I was at work while most of the work was performed, but the few times I made it home to check on the work, the same worker (Viatli) was there. Really friendly guy who was always willing to walk me through what work was done that day, explain any issues, and answer any questions. Every day, the work site was cleaned up and they were very respectful of my property. I trusted these guys enough to leave my house unlocked during the day in case something came up (see below). A story really drives home how professional these guys are: the electrical in my house is a little shaky, and one day we came home and one of the breakers was blown. No big deal, it happens. But we couldn't get the breaker to reset. I told Ivan and he told Vitali, who reached out to me and explained that the breaker had probably been blown by the air compressor he was using but that he would look into it. The next day he asked if he could reset the breaker, and asked whether there were any electronics that needed to be continually powered or would otherwise have issues with being reset. (I thought this was pretty thoughtful.). He texted me later that day and said the breaker had been reset and that the source of the problem was not the compressor but rather he had nicked a wire while working on a portion of the exterior wall. There was no damage or anything of the sort (again, these things happen), but I was stunned that he was so honest about it. Most contractors would be more than happy to let you keep on thinking that an error on a project is your home's fault and not theirs. To me, it spoke to the fact that these guys are professionals. But here's the kicker. I came home expecting to have to reset all the clocks in the house, but I realized that all the clocks were set to the correct time but still blinking. It dawned on me that Vitali had waited until noon exactly to flip the breaker so that when the clocks reset at 12:00 they would still tell the correct time for the rest of the day. This is such a minor thing, and I wouldn't have minded at all having to reset them myself, but it really spoke volumes to me that he actually thought through the situation to figure out how to minimize any burden on me. What it tells me is that the same level of care went into fixing my walls, and that is the exactly the kind of confidence you want to have when you are paying to have work done where you can only see the finished veneer and not the underlying, hidden parts. Since the walls were redone, we have been pounded by rain storm after rain storm. There have been no leaks in the walls, and no additional moisture in the slab. The finalized product looks great, and I now feel confident about what was previously the most vulnerable part of my home. I will definitely use RIA again for future projects and repairs.

Recent Review: Excellent. The workers were great. On time and if there was a issue and they would be late they called and let me know. Walter was on top of any work to be done and if anything needed to be addressed. They even rescreened my windows and patio. I received several compliments from the neighbors on the job. Some even called for estimates on work for their homes. I would hire them again.
