Wonderful! Dario was very responsive during all phases of the work. He graded, rock, and paved several driveways for me. He also assisted in stripping off an old lawn and grading for a new one. His prices are always very fair, and his work is excellent. I’ve never seen anyone quite as skilled in their use of an excavator or skid steer. He brings his laser and gets the grades just right. Our experience with Bayside Paving was excellent., We met with Max for the estimate and he was here the next day to work on our driveway. He did an excellent job of prepping the driveway before applying the slurry. All the weeds and debris were removed and a blower was used to remove the dust in the prep. The necessary areas were masked, cracks were patched, and the slurry was applied. Very thorough in all aspects of the job!! He did what he said he would do which is excellent. We had a 50 year old asphalt driveway that was uneven and badly cracked. We had hoped we could get by with just grinding and filling the cracks and coating the whole surface with asphalt filler. The result was unsatisfactory. After the repair the surface was just as uneven as before, and the patches over the cracks were still visible. Moreover, the cracks themselves reappeared shortly after. We then hired another contractor Mark Raine who recommeded that the old asphalt be dug out and replaced. He also recommended separating the new asphalt from an adjoining garden by inserting trex boards. The old asphalt had just been cut away when the area was recently landscaped. Mark did a very professional job in a timely manner and at a very fair price. The driveway looks great now. James did everything on time . He said he would be there at 8:00 and was there at 8:00. he said he would be done before noon and he done before noon. They also put a new asphalt sealer coating and then came back later when it was dry to strip it . I would never use anyone else. His price was very fair and competitive. First of all, Steve's bid was about half that of other asphalt companies we contacted (most of which only handle commercial or large residential jobs). Some would do the job but for not less than their minimum fee (regardless of how small the area). One company referred us to Steve, saying he handles smaller asphalt jobs and also works throughout the Bay Area. During our initial call, we told him of our previous experience. So he detailed for us his procedure and asked us to run it by the inspector for his approval beforehand. We did and he did. The day of the job, Steve got right to work. The asphalt removal and replacement was hot, messy, and dirty work, but when he and his helper left, the area was neat and swept clean. The inspector came by as they were finishing up. Got an estimate, no problem. Waiting for good weather (which took quite a while, but I got on the list in the winter), then because of a change weather, they came on a Saturday. Great for me. Two nice workmen came on time. They filled the cracks, left for while while they dried, then came back and filled another crack they had missed. Then they applied the sealer, and the guy who does this is really experienced. Very careful and detailed, like a house painter goes right up to the edge freehand. Impressive. They were done before lunch. They put up cones to prevent anyone driving on it, and of course, a squirrel ran right through the wet sealer...when they came back the next day to remove the cones, he fixed the squirrel tracks pretty well and a track where my gate wheel had been.
