It all started when our 17 year old furnace started acting up. I called AAA to come and service the furnace. The technician that came out cleaned the furnace and the water heater and explained some of the issues with the furnace system. Given the problems I was facing with the old furnace, he recommended that we upgrade to a Trane higher efficiency furnace. Two days later, the same tech came and gave us an estimate and even went under the house to check the existing duct work. Three days later, a very professional crew came out and installed the new furnace, new thermostat, new filter grill and strapping of about 15 feet of duct work under the house. The crew cleaned up after themselves and also cleaned up the water heater area on our request

They did a pretty thorough cleaning of the furnace and duct system. However I was hoping that they will leave with a working furnace after tune-up. The technician couldn't figure out why there is no electricity to the furnace and wanted me to get an electrician. So no tune-up and working furnace yet

They replaced an old single stage furnace and ducting in ~ 2 days with a high efficiency multi-stage condensing furnace and properly sized ducting. The installation was quick and the final results exceeded expectations. Although the price was higher than replacing the old furnace with another single stage furnace, it was worth while as 1. The wiring was brought up to code. 2. The gas piping was brought up to code. 3. The new furnace and ducting provided better heating than before. 4. The hole in the floor for the original furnace to draw air for combustion was sealed off. 5. The noise level when the furnace was running at max (with the closet door open) was significantly less than the original with the closet door closed (which the original installer also said nothing could be done). 6. The heating bill went down. 7. The closet walls were no longer warm to touch

I don't know how to judge the quality of their work because I don't know much about furnaces, but it seemed to be fine. I would definitely use them again in the future

Had spent over $ 400 on repairs with another company which accomplished nothing - furnace wouldn't run. Other company wanted to install additional ducting for approx. $1000. Note: this furnace had run for 7 years with existing ducting. Diablo Valley Comfort Sys. responded quickly, checked furnace and circuitry, found problem (defective switch in condensate pump) , disconnected pump allowing gravity drainage and furnace ran fine. Jim Nachtigal, the owner, came to my home to discuss replacing our 30+ year old furnace. I explained that I wanted a furnace that would meet the requirements for a Federal tax credit and a PG&E rebate. Jim explained that we could use a lower BTU furnace than the original because of its higher efficiency. He located and purchased a new furnace that met requirements and also obtained the City permit required. Installation was carried out in the agreed on time frame. As winter approached and temperatures dropped, the 35 year old furnace decided to quit working. Since I had a remodeling design in progress with Gridley Construction, I contacted them and they sent Troy Petty of Petty Heating and Air Conditioning. He examined the old furnace in the attic along with the ducting and recommended a new high efficiency furnace. Troy worked with Gridley's architect and they determined that the best place for the furnace in the new design would still be in the attic. Troy and Patrick arrived on a Thursday afternoon and had the new furnace totally installed and operational by Friday afternoon. I am quite pleased with the quality of work, the professionalism displayed by Troy and Patrick and how well the new furnace heats the house. Once construction of the remodeling is underway, I plan to have Troy return and work on the ducting for both the new areas and the existing areas
