    Nashville District names Phillips Employee of the Month for July 2022

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (September 29, 2022) – Kyle Phillips, civil engineer in the Engineering & Construction Division’s Construction Branch at Chickamauga Lock Resident Office, is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District Employee of the Month for July 2022. He is recognized primarily for his dedication to mentoring new staff and Quality Control personnel to keep activity at Chickamauga Lock moving forward.

The annual event brought together volunteers from the local community and Nashville District park rangers who helped restore, clean, and improve the recreation area.

    Nashville District rangers spread Water Safety at the Wilson County Fair

    LEBANON, Tenn. (Aug. 31, 2022) —Rangers with the Nashville District Corps of Engineers set up a water safety booth during the Wilson County Fair to hand out educational materials and children’s goody bags. During the weeklong event, J. Percy Priest park rangers greeted fair attendees and passed out pamphlets with important water safety information and maps of local Corps lakes.

    JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Aug. 17, 2022) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is providing technical services and managing construction of the Mountain Home National Cemetery Expansion Project, which will add 6,365 burial and cremation plots, plus eight columbarium units with 3,140 niches for veteran internments.

    Lake Cumberland landmark officially named �?Sid Bell Falls’

    WATAUGA, Ky. (Aug. 12, 2022) – A popular landmark on the shoreline of Lake Cumberland will forever be known as “Sid Bell Falls,” the namesake of its landowner when the Corps of Engineers purchased it during construction of Wolf Creek Dam in 1943.
