"i got only 1 person to clean so it took around 6 hours but i was happy with the result considered the short notice i gave for my request. I didn't like the fact that a stem glass broke and i was not told about it. I discovered it behind the cleaning closet. I told Maria and she agreed and would notify the cleaner. Accidents do happen, people shouldn't try to cover it up."

"The team did an excellent job. The house looks wonderful. We will use service magic when we have our "move-in" cleaning as well."

Kitchen hood cleaning can be done both in the home and in commercial settings. However, it is most commonly required in restaurants where constant exposure to cooking vapors, smoke, and splashing grease and sauces can leave a layer of grime that can cause the business to fail inspections. Many insurance companies and fire marshals also require regular exhaust hood cleaning in commercial kitchens.
Cleaning the hood is also important to keep it functioning properly. The hood contains a fan which blows away steam and smoke so it doesn't accumulate in the kitchen or in the dining area. Grease and other buildup can cause the fan to fail.
Kitchen hood cleaning is a job best left to the pros. Professional services don't just use rags, soap, and water. They have specialized equipment and cleaning solutions to remove all of the buildup. They are also educated on fire awareness and hazardous materials as well as local code which is all important to helping you pass your next health inspection.
If it's time for your kitchen to have a deep clean, consider hiring a restaurant hood cleaning service near you. Enter your zip code and HomeAdvisor will connect you with local companies.
Most restaurants pay about $400 to $600 for professional hood cleaning. Cleaning a restaurant kitchen hood takes about 3 to 4 hours. Most services charge between $100 and $200 per hour for a two-person crew. You may be able to pay less if you sign up for recurring service with your contractor.
Project costs change based on:
How often you should clean your hood depends on its use:
These are only estimates. The key is not a regular schedule, but cleanliness that satisfies the NFPA Standard for Ventilation Control. Check with your health inspector on a recommended schedule that matches your kitchen's use.
Restaurant hoods prevent fire hazards by sucking smoke and grease out of the kitchen. They're part of a larger ventilation system that replaces the exhaust with clean air to keep the kitchen safe and up to code.
