When we were in the market for a general contractor to build our two-bedroom/two-bath ADU in San Marino, we interviewed several general contractors. Mike Maman of MF Construction was one of them. Mike showed us several of his projects as well as his own custom home. We were extremely impressed with the end results. After reviewing several competitive bids, we selected Mike because of his 40+ years of experience in building high-quality homes. During the construction of our ADU, Mike was just a text or phone call away. He kept us informed of upcoming events and visited our job site almost daily, sometimes more than once a day. He was present at all 12 of the City inspections. Every step along the way, we noted the high quality of materials Mike uses from the Ganahl lumber to the thick insulation and roofing paper to the copper pipes and shower hot mop, and mold-resistant drywall. Mike uses materials which meets or exceeds code requirements. Everyone on Mike’s team is extremely skilled in his/her craft, many having worked with him for decades. Mike is old school and does not take any shortcuts. Along with high quality construction and materials, Mike is extremely efficient. Our ADU was completed in four months, as promised. Progress was made every day. From the rough work to the finishes, Mike scheduled his team members just in time which resulted in an extremely efficient and smooth workflow. Mike builds with his heart. His passion is infectious which inspires his team members to do their best work. The results are evident in the finished product. - Progressive Insulation & WindowsThis review is almost 2 years past due but because of family illness and death I kept putting it off and I greatly apologize for that. In March, 2020, I contacted Progressive after finding out Exodus, a company I hired to install a sliding door in the early 2000s was no longer in business and that the owner now works for Progressive. On a Sunday evening I had a problem closing the door by about 12 inches and left a frantic message on their voicemail. It probably seems silly but it was winter and I had an elderly parent living with me so I was very concerned with the cold even though I did everything I could to cover it up. Before end of business on Monday Progressive came out and fixed the (thankfully) very simple problem and asked for nothing in return. What more can anyone ask for? I will be forever grateful for their assistance

"I had just had the house exterior completely painted and thought it was no use to put up old screens. Even though they would be washed it just wouldn't do the house justice. I called Screenmobile and spoke to Cathy ( a top-notch secretary). She set me up with an appt. with Jaime (also an owner with Evan). "Following smoke damage to our home, we hired a fire restoration company (to clean the house and remove attic insulation) and Go Green Construction (to do repairs and upgrades). While the cleanup was proceeding, Fernando Feldman, the owner of Go Green, and Stephen Li, Go Green project engineer, spent a few weeks assessing the situation, researching/pricing out green options, and talking with our local building department to determine code requirements. Go Green was clearly in our corner, advocating successfully on our behalf to our insurer that certain remedies would be required to restore the house, including replacing all of the duct work, rather than trying to clean it.
<br /> For Fernando, his work is as much a mission as a business, and he makes himself available at almost any hour of the day to answer questions and talk through options. He and Stephen looked tirelessly for low- or no-VOC options and sent us links to manufacturer/retailer web sites. They also ordered and hand-delivered samples for our approval. This required a lot of driving on Fernando's part, as we don't live close to Go Green's office. The work was primarily performed through subcontractors that Fernando has known for some time and trusts. Most of the work went smoothly and was performed on schedule. We did run into some small issues at the end of the project that required a bit more oversight on my part than I would have liked, but to Fernando's credit, he remedied all of these issues promptly. We were very happy with the quality of the finished work and would use Go Green again.
