• October 7: Public comment period begins
• October 31: Public Hearing
• November 4: Public comment period ends
• November 17-18: BPE Consideration of Recommended Changes
• December 7: Presentation to Education Interim Budget Committee per 20-7-101, MCA 
• January 12-13: Notice of Adoption
• July 2023: Effective date of rules

• July 14-15: Notice of Public Hearing
• August 5: Public comment period begins
• August 30: Public Hearing (*Note: the Board previously set August 23 as the public hearing date, but this did not meet the MAPA timeline.)
• September 2: Public comment period ends
• September 14-15: BPE Consideration of Recommended Changes
• January 12-13: Notice of Adoption
• July 2023: Effective date of rules

The Board of Public Education and Certification Standards and Practices Advisory Council meetings are open to the public electronically. For those wishing to give virtual public comment, please contact [email protected] to request the zoom link for the meeting. Members of the public who have joined may “raise their hand” at the appropriate time and participate after being recognized by the Board Chair. 

Professional Development Unit Guidelines:

The Board of Public Education is a Professional Development Unit Provider. If you attend a Board of Public Education meeting or a Certification Standards and Practices Advisory Council meeting you may be eligible for professional development units.
