Yes, I know you're busy. But why are you so busy that you can't even show up to work one day a week ? Six or seven days of work have taken nearly three months to complete. About as unprofessional a company as I have ever worked with. Every one claims that they do not have the authority to discuss adjusting the payments due to the staggering delays between visits. But, they manage to deposit the checks in under an hour (literally). After practically begging for months to get a schedule for the work to be done, you are at the mercy of their whims since they will not provide any kind of schedule or assurance of a completion date. They only provide notice that they will deign to show up the afternoon before, but you better have check in hand there and then. I was an idiot for allowing this project to go forward. This company is obviously so greedy and unconcerned with customer satisfaction that they take on every job they can, and worry (or not) about scheduling them after they've got the money. If you don't have it in writing, you can't trust anything they say, and even then I suspect you'd need a lawyer to get them to hold up their word. It's my own fault for not insisting on dates in the contract before I signed anything. Don't repeat my mistake. Make sure dates and penalties are clearly spelled out before signing.

Cracks appeared in pool less than 2 years after resurface and crack repair. Refuses to honor their 3 year warranty.

Dane's Swimming Pools

Daneand his team arrived s scheduled, began work on resurfacing. Discovered that the spa airway was blocked, no original plans to show where the pipe way. The crew took the time to locate the pipe, and unblock it. Fixed all resurfacing, and left the yardway clean each day so that the animals would not be injured. Finished on schedule, and on budget. Very happy, have used their services since!

PARAMOUNT POOL PLASTER

They were prompt getting us an estimate and an explanation of what they could do. Once accepted and in the books, we had a start date that was 3 weeks out. They actually were here in 2 weeks and knocked it out. They came out and followed up to make sure we were content with the work.

Elite Pool Service is a top notch company. Spoke mainly with Adrian who is very personable and professional. From the quote to completion of work, there were no surprises and clear communication along the way. Adrian’s crew are very hard working and efficient and they are clearly very experienced. This company uses an app to make it easier to visualize your tile options, surface colors and what your pool will look like when completed, it was very helpful. My pool is like new again and I am very happy with the experience.

FIBERGLASS POOL RESURFACING

They were able to work around my schedule to make an appointment for the initial estimate. I believe that they were honest with their description of the work that needed to be done and their quote was fair, if about 50% higher than doing the same job with plaster (but with a 4x longer life expectancy). While they initially expected that the work would be performed 3-4 weeks later, they had a cancellation and were able to schedule the work to start almost immediately. Their crew showed up on time every day, kept the site clean, and did a wonderful job of refinishing the pool. When the started the work, the scale of the leak in the main drain was unknown, they were quickly able to identify it, repair it and even fix the improper repair work done by someone in the past. Overall this was a great contracting experience and I am extremely happy with the work that was performed.

When they were done the pool bubblers were broken and the pool leaked. They told us to use the leak detector they recommended and they would make the repairs. They did not repair the leak nor did they repay us for the leak detector who came out . The detector said the leaks were in the damaged bubblers. In the many years we had the spa we had no problems with it. now it is sitting empty and useless. :( The Salt Chlorinator also leaked, the tubes kept falling out and leaking salt water on to our flowers and they would not refund or let us return it. Worst experience ever. We hope Angies list will help us find a reliable spa repair person to help us out of this mess & put us back in the hot water.

It took a little longer than I had anticipated but it wasn't much of a problem because is was early in the season. Their workers were very competent and they used safety equipment which I really liked. They cleaned up very well and the pool looks great now.

FIBERGLASS POOL RESURFACING
3.0
Our pool needed resurfacing and we were torn between using fiberglass or plaster. In the end it came down to the fiberglass companies would give us a meaningful warranty and the plaster people would not. The next research was choosing the right fiberglass company. The internet is full of horror stories about long warranties and when you try to claim the company is out of business. This meant that our buying criteria was: 1) Fiberglass experienced resurfacing companies that 2) had been around long enough so that they were probably around to say. After getting a few quotes we settled on Fiberglass Pool Resurfacing (FPR). The Bid Process The sales guy (Keith) was knowledgeable, a little messy and a bit disorganized but explained FPR's process and its unique selling points - only company to create anchor points, only company to put final coat on top of fiberglass. After doing some reference checks we settled on the bid and were told the pool would be done between Oct/Nov but before Thanksgiving. No problem we were not swimming in it, it was too cold. Recommendation to prospective customers: Get everything written down (we did) leave nothing to chance. (We didn't have any issues with what was promised is what we got) The Scheduling Process October came and went, not communication and eventually 2 weeks before Thanksgiving I called to check and was told they would start the week before. Unfortunately some rain on prior jobs so they eventually started the week of Thanksgiving. Recommendation to FPR: Communicate start times and slippage better. Get away from such a manual system. The Crew The crew were here worked extremely hard and seemed to do a fantastic job. Only issue we had is that it took 4 weeks to complete (Keith, sales guy had said a week to two weeks). The manager of production (Jared) was MIA and we saw him only once or twice, but we felt in good hands with the crew. Only issue we had was one day the crew said they were being pulled off the job and with some frantic calls form us were assured that it was only for 1 day due to some "crisis" Not sure I know what the crisis was but crew came back the next day. During this process we got many "promises" that they would be finished in a few days (from Jared and Keith) but they were clueless. The crew leader told us it would take longer. It was a little strange to be told to have the check ready they were finishing tomorrow when actually they were 2 weeks away from finishing. Recommendation to potential customers: If you have a specific deadline get it in writing when they will finish with some penalty for missing the date (Note they claim to charge $500 for any delay caused by the homeowner!) Recommendation to FPR: Set more realistic start/end dates and communicate communicate communicate. Jenny (Office Goddess) I am not sure Jenny's official job but she is the face of FPR. She was always accessible via email or phone and tried to do her best to find out what was happening. She is really between a rock and a hard place since is Jared doesn't tell her what is happening she doesn't know. I do not envy her job, but appreciated that she heard our concerns and it seemed was always on our side. Issue Resolution We had one tile that they put brown sand on (looked terrible) and had to be removed. It took them 10 days to get that done with a lot of broken promises as to when they would come. I am hoping we don't have any other issues but I guess the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Chlorine Genie We went for their chlorine genie, installation and service from Bruce was a pain - came after we had already balanced the pool, then couldn't install it, came back following week and installed it, then we had a leak issue, 10 day wait till they came to fix that. System seems to be making chlorine, and working but with the pain of install not sure I can recommend the experience. Training on using the product was very poor but the manual is very good. Time will tell if I can recommend the product. Summary: Overall pool looks great, but it has only been a month. Communication and broken promises are the biggest issues, which really leave a bad taste in my mouth. I would recommend that if you use them: 1) Get everything written down including dates 2) be prepared to spend time managing them. Jenny holds the company together.

STILES POOL & SPA & CONCRETE

Terrible. Most unprofessional person I ever dealt with. He spent more time complaining about his employee's to me than actually doing any work. Bill Stiles was contracted to resurface my swimming pool. After signing the contract, I saw him twice. He sent his workers, but always said he would be there but never was. The unsupervised workers came late and left early everyday. Left their garbage all over my back yard. I had to call them to come back and clean up their mess. I called Bill and told him that I paid him to work and he needed to be here. He said he would, then kept finding excuses to take off. He ran the plumbing for the water filter across the entrance to the crawl space under the house. I made him come back and re-do it. His wiring job was aweful. Left exposed wiring and didn't seal the pump. I used my credit card to pay him. The contract said he would charge for the work when it was completed. He charged my account and the work was still not done. I finally fired him and disputed the bill with my credit card company who issued me a refund. Keep far far away from this guy.
